This is one of several standalone singles released by British bands in the '90s. Whatever by Oasis, Elephant Stone by The Stone Roses, Stay Together by Suede and this Bluetones tune are all classic singles that were never on an album.
Superb and most under arted band of the 90's, saw them 1st at the Boardwalk, Manchester 1996 and seen many times since and they still tour every year, good on you boys!! I Love Mark Morriss!!! Ahh to be back in 1996....happy days
Really? Its okay, but rather whiny and rather forgettable. Marbles with nae balls, no swagger, lyricism or artistry (which you would get from Oasis and Blur). Slight Return was a better tune
I finally found this song after more than 25 years searching for it after I first heard it as a kid around 1998 or so from one of my dad's numerous cassettes and never heard it again. Thanks to Google voice search via humming, lolz. Beautiful underatted song
what a blast, i aint listened to these guys for ages they are a very underated band.cheers for the upload man,oh they go on tour this year and release a new album(should be good)
you know it fella 96 was a great time the euro's being 17 no worries plenty of cash (well 80pw but it went a lot further) and hanging out with long lost mates. Love to relive it
I know Hicks had a band at one point called Marblehead Johnson... I don't know if the subject matter's a tribute to him, but the title probably is at least
Such an underrated band from the indie genre from the great 90s, they may rip off The Stone Roses, but they still have a superb unique sound, soooooo underrated, Expecting to fly was a superb album.
Absolutely gutted these guys are splitting up. Seen them last october on their last tour, brilliant as ever. Oasis and supergrass last year, bluetones this year. Who's next? Its all our yesterdays falling by the wayside one by one. I blame cowell and this shitty reality tv generation. Never has mudslide ever had as much meaning as now!
I always thought they were scousers think it was the liverpool shirt in this vid. Great band his voice has got a scouse touch dont ya think? Jesus saves
According to Mark Morriss, this video was created to hit out at people who spend thousands of pounds to look like gods, so they decided to spend the money to look unattractive.

Ta for the info.
How are you doing Michael?

The mid 90's was an incredible time for British Rock. I think this is the best song of that short period of amazing tunes.
Really? Its okay, but rather whiny and rather forgettable. Marbles with nae balls, no swagger, lyricism or artistry (which you would get from Oasis and Blur). Slight Return was a better tune
@Walter Coyle I always liked it when a band dropped a one-off single in between albums.
Aaaw, what a good song! I haven't seen this video or even heard the song in ages! The Bluetones were very underrated, even during the Britpop days.
Good of Neil Ruddock to lend him a shirt
These must be one of the most underrated bands of the 90's and in my most humble opinion this is their finest track.
listening to this tune is like having my own little time machine - all of a sudden i'm back in a brilliant 90s summer - .... if only for a moment
I saw these in my hometown and flicked a Liverpool pin badge to Mark. He caught it and took a look and his face lit up. Made my night that.
I finally found this song after more than 25 years searching for it after I first heard it as a kid around 1998 or so from one of my dad's numerous cassettes and never heard it again. Thanks to Google voice search via humming, lolz. Beautiful underatted song
Haven't heard this for years. One of the great guitar riffs !!
Farewell tour was bittersweet .. No more Bluetones, but year's of memories and what amazing song's we have to listen to..
The mid to late 90's a time I wish we could step back in to!!
I was looking for this video in ages! Thank you for putting this one up... Great song and Video
"Tonight you owe my patience quite a debt... Mister Bond"
What a fucking great line that would be!!
Imagine Alan Partridge saying that line hahaha!!
WE'RE GONNA WIN THE LEAGUE!
And, considering the fact that this song has one of my favourite guitar riffs, I'm gonna learn that!
The Bluetones have always just just just left me breathless...............
what a blast, i aint listened to these guys for ages they are a very underated band.cheers for the upload man,oh they go on tour this year and release a new album(should be good)
you know it fella 96 was a great time the euro's being 17 no worries plenty of cash (well 80pw but it went a lot further) and hanging out with long lost mates. Love to relive it

their best and one of the best ever
They have been replaced by the Rifles, everyone who likes this song should listen to THE RIFLES! Another underated band...
love this vid, reminds me of when we had the ecru kit :D
as for the nutty professor tag, this pre-dates it by about 5 years and is infinetly better
One of my favourite bands ♥️
No I'm pretty sure they're from Hounslow
But hope they are Lpool fans !!
you muppets it is the bluetones! in makeup and suits!
This is a great tune! One of the 'tones best:)
brilliant as are the bsides-the simple things-nifkins bridge to this liddle number.
An era of great music videos, unlike now, say no more!

I've met Mark a few times. top top bloke.
I remember when this came out! I was, like, 14 or so... I LOVE it! They had guts to dress like that, they were still hot! lol!

Gosh they must have eaten there fortunes away. Literally
@shamuscolemanfanclub the bluetones are headlining mychoone festival in tansley, derbyshire in august. Dodgy and reef are playin too. i cant wait!
They may be Lpool fans, I go all the Lpool games, there are fans from everywhere (as Everton fans LOVE to point out)
Those Hounslow boys know how to but a song together
Ive seen him play 5 times I think, he just hasn't clicked with Torres yet, they just get in each others way at the moment
But we live in hope !!!!!!
oh the sweet sweet memories come flooding back!!
Great song and video
I haven't heard this for years. Every bit as good as I remember :)
perfect song, perfect video
I love this song !
Wasn't this song written as a tribute to Bill Hicks? I seem to vaguely recall hearing this when this song was released back in 1996.
I know Hicks had a band at one point called Marblehead Johnson... I don't know if the subject matter's a tribute to him, but the title probably is at least
u mean Alex Jones?
chune...memories.what year was this anyone.was it early 90s?.
Oh this brings back happy memories! I'm getting old now!! Yet I don't have grey hairs!!!!
Such an underrated band from the indie genre from the great 90s, they may rip off The Stone Roses, but they still have a superb unique sound, soooooo underrated, Expecting to fly was a superb album.
underated because they didnt have any tunes to match this one FACT!
@@leed899 hmm this wasnt even there biggest hit
@epsonc44 Same boat mate, but those years between 93 and 98 where some of the best years ive had for pretty much the same reasons you give!!!
*under rated, that should be sorry.
Done a bit of research, pretty sure they're LFC fans, they're actually playing at a Hillsboro memorial gig sometime soon
I never knew Neil Ruddock was in this band!
Awesome, the the singer looks like me mate Phat Phill.
My favorite song of the 1990's
Great song from my youth

Absolutely gutted these guys are splitting up. Seen them last october on their last tour, brilliant as ever. Oasis and supergrass last year, bluetones this year. Who's next? Its all our yesterdays falling by the wayside one by one. I blame cowell and this shitty reality tv generation. Never has mudslide ever had as much meaning as now!
while i do not agree with taxi909's sentiment, his methods of communicating them are infact hilarious!!!
you can stop giggling or I'll take down your particulars
TUNE!
ah..... memories!!!!
jan molby lookalike. great tune. E.F.C.
My only complaint: the guitar solo is way too short, other than that brilliant...
Rickenbacker 360 fireglo, 12 strings, hi gain pickups.
They don't make 'em like this anymore
No mate I meant I Man U fan from Surrey. God knows what Id been drinking when I wrote that but it should have said "be a Manc" not "the a Manc"
@Simon72Victoria Agreed it was a better time young free and single (NO BLOODY BILLS LOL) 17 and living at home partying every weekend with good music

Nah mate it was just for purpose of video as a joke, they from hounslow london
Does anybody know what album this song is from cause I have the first 3 albums of theirs and it's not on any of them?
It was a stand-alone single but worth tracking down as the B-Side Simple Things was as good a track.
Cheers I appreciate that :)
Joseph McSweeney And Nifkins bridge . :)

modsheff1 Brilliant
@Fattyprice me too brother....sadly missed.

So are they Liverpool fan or what?
According to Mark Morriss, this video was created to hit out at people who spend thousands of pounds to look like gods, so they decided to spend the money to look unattractive.
i think i saw johnny vegas on guitar
Is it wrong to still fancy Mark Morriss when he's in a fat suit? I think it's that voice.
Rammstein did a similar video for Keine Lust.
Gr88 song funy vid
0:07 he looks like Fat Bastard from Austin Powers.
I thought they supported Brentford? Where they're from?
Hounslow so you are probably right
