The reason he got sacked was he told the producers that there absolutely wasn't anything else he had done... and then the second story broke. Angus was good, but I think Rob Brydon is better in WILTY, after he replaced him. HIGNIFY is hit and miss now, but the hits make up for the misses.

He's probably saved the BBC (i.e., the taxpayer) several thousand quid. The standard forum for this stuff is probably something like Newsnight - controlled environment, no live audience, no 'hospitality', expectations are clear. I would love to see the fully unedited recordings of these spats, but they'll never see the light of day.
