Tremendous acting out of both, and you can feel the panic out of Carroll and the devastation in Jean…. Truly some of the best acting in this sitcom I’ve ever seen

I still found it hard to believe that Archie could cheat on Edith, especially knowing that she would never do that to him.

The fact is that Archie married an Angel 😇. Edith was the best thing that could have possibly happened to him. She was always so loving, caring, dedicated, and loyal; a true life partner that put up with all his shenanigans and nasty humor. There is karma to be paid when one makes an Angel cry.

I actually think that Archie would have been better off with someone smarter than Edith who was more capable of putting him in his place at times

This was a great show...these actors were extraordinary and made Edith and Archie real. I can feel Edith's sadness

@@baberRuth hey do you know that the actor O'Connor who played Archie was completely different person. Yeah the road to the long-term relationship with a black woman 👠👠. The character Archie was like so many of them can I sing when I was growing up. Even though the show is older. Blue collar union workers accessory etc they're going to take our jobs. Whoever they are. Just the other day I was speaking with a very patriotic black man. And he's talking about how the foreigners were taking his jobs. He was speaking of black people jobs.

He was mentally and emotionally abusive too. All the name calling and putdowns got on my last nerve.
He broke trust,something that once broken can never go back to where it was.
Cheating is always wrong, no matter how it happens. Edith should have slapped him.
Please don't forget that during that time she would have been blamed for his actions and it would have been so much worse to divorce.

Not positive, but this was the one time Archie unfaithful to Edith. She may have not looked glamorous and dowdy housewife, but he was so lucky to have her, and she was very sweet and faithful to him!
This is when the show was moving into Archie's Places, instead of All In The Family, and when Edith quit the show, and then she came back, to do the last episode, when she passed away, after cooking all that corned beef and cabbagee, for Archie's bar, and he never got over it.
This is when the show started getting "deep"
This episode broke my heart(!) when I was a little kid! And not just for Edith.
This is what killed the show, but this show had the most spin-offs in TV history, rip Norman Lear, and the entire

Archie was wrong. That being said, he dug a hole for himself. He left the number where Edith could see it. He wore that Hawaiian shirt (you don't bowl wearing that).
On top of that, he mentioned the kiss.

Archie's heart was reserved for Edith. So he engaged in a flirtatious kiss, did he go behind Edith's back and sleep with her? No. Archie didn't cheat. Cheating is about emotional betrayal, and he never betrayed Edith.
He also admitted it to Edith. People get over it.
