Amazing explanation on grease pencil. Been working with Blender for 3 years, and feel way better trying it out after watching. Thank you for making this, I know it takes so much work!
thank you for this nice introduction. please record more *grease pencil 2d animation* , there is a lack of grease pencil tutorial on UA-cam. I liked it so much and watched it till end.
very helpful tutorial for me, a beginner in blender..I hope Mr. Han will continue to educate with the next video part..I really like the way the tutorial is presented..God bless you
very nice; great explanation, and impressive how much you covered in 25 minutes i've dabbled a fair bit in grease pencil and never really understood how to change centre of rotation - now sorted thanks to you thank you for sharing your knowledge subbed
Thank you for the tutorial! This is a great intro to Grease Pencil. It has all the essentials to start using the tool. Yet another reason to love Blender. :)
for anyone trying to figure out why the right click is not working on 12:36, the updated version has buttons now. it goes on the near bottom left, View, select, marker, channel and key, you want key and that will give you all the options.
Please come back to Tech, Mr. H! Not trying to guilt you but the animation classes have really suffered since you left and we all miss your talent here lots!
Hey Tyler, I'm sorry to hear that things are not going well. All I can say is that leaving Tech wasn't a choice for me. As you get older your cost of living goes up. Sometimes that means you have to switch jobs. All that being said, most of the videos I used at Tech are on this channel. What are you looking to learn?
@@mr.h Oh yes, I totally get that, don't worry! Not trying to guilt you at all, just wanted to let you now how much your presence meant at our school when you were still there! We miss you lots! Even before I came to Tech I used your channel, so its been a lovely resource all these years and I just wish you were my teacher. I've been animating 2D for a while and I'm trying to start 3D int he near future and I'm turning back to your channel for resources!
Hi, thanks for your comment. Yes, more grease pencil content planned for the future since its now my primary animation tool. Some will be here on UA-cam and some will be on Gumroad.
Hi Ninja, The only way I know how to do this is to export pngs, then bring it into an editor (like DaVinci Resolve) and then export it in a format that supports alpha channel (like ProRes 4444).
@@mr.h I've been using Blender for years but never Grease Pencil. I'm not good at drawing even with a drawing tablet so my question, can I import a picture to trace it?
No such thing as a stupid question. The 2D animation environment looks like its a totally different setup but its actually is just a 3d scene with a white background and no grid.
Can you do a tutorial on how to make circles that have a simple mouth and blinking eyes like Dr Robotniks mean bean machine please. I am in the process of learning how to create game assets for a game im programming and i really enjoy this add on and your tutorials. Subbed!
do you know why my computer keeps freezing on the part where you fill the pendulum in automatically with multi-frame? I follow these exact instructions and they dont fill, it just freezes, even individual filling seems to take forever on a brand new computer?
Bro like I'm not even kidding this was alot helpfull ... I mean it ... I would like another video on this blender grease pencil just like how to create background with grease pencil in 3d and use it for 2d animation or similar . The introduction to basic tools were great atleast i can animate something till i find a new video ... I wanna dive deep in blender grease pencil but not many videos are available so please keep uploading 🔥
Hi Wao, thanks for your comment I really appreciate the feedback. I have lots of videos planned for Grease Pencil in the future. I recently made a short animation that combines 2D and 3D (you can find it the "Shorts" tab on my channel). Is that animation similar to what you are trying to achieve? If so I could do a breakdown video.
@@mr.h not exactly like that but i m trying to learn animation kinda like 2d anime ... And tbh camera movements are really hard i just searched a lot and found out that it can be made a bit easy with blender grease pencil with keeping the 2d animation essense... I was animating on Adobe animate first but didn't like the brushes ... So went on krita it was great had so many brushes but for a long projects with having so many layers it was hard to make it work ... And i had planned from the start to learn blender basics atleast to know 3d modelling and few things which will help me in 2d animation so why not just deep dive into grease pencil if it can give me both i wanted ... So i don't know how to explain i have just seen the videos in which background is made in layers in 3d with grease pencil ... Or it is 3d modelling and then they animate by hand drawn frame by frame on it using blender it self ... Like toniko pantoja made His new intro using blender grease pencil .... I mean no pressure on u to make such video ... I m just explaining what my plans are
The cool thing about Blender is that you can do whatever you want. You could make backgrounds in 2D, in 3D, or a combination of both. Same with your characters. You could start with a 3D character and then add outlines to make the character look 2D. Or you could do full 2D characters with some 3D for vehicles (with outlines). The possibilities are limitless. Stay tuned for more Grease Pencil content coming soon!
