Great stuff. Thanks for focusing so much on how things work in 3d space. Most Grease Pencil tuts I've seen just tell you how to avoid being in 3d space and leave it at that. Cheers.
Glad you found that part useful! Using Grease Pencil in 3D space is key for the project I'm currently working on. So wanted to share in case anyone else wants to use it for something else outside of 2D animation
your tutorials are super useful and awesome eve !! 🤗💕 i hope they get all the views and love they deserve, i will save this for the next time i binge your vids and give blender another go hehe, keep up the amazing work !! 👀🙌✨️
Hey! Just showing up from your instagram account. I feel the same way, so sad all the algorithm stuff is wrecking our ways to make a living. I love the way you explain and I'm only a beginner in blender and barrly made one shape to try it out. But in the meantime i definitely love to watch tutorials and other people artwork. I know that sometimes we have low moments but its (in my opinion) a way for us to appreciate more the highs ❤ Sending you hugs and good energy!
Yeah it can be quite challenging as an artist! I totally agree about the highs and lows 💖 The fact that people find these videos useful is all I could hope for. So I'll focus on that instead of algorithms! Thank you
Looking forward to giving this a go!! I’ve been meaning to try blender for a while (especially grease pencil!) but still have never used it yet, do you recommend doing any of your other tutorials first or can you dive straight into grease pencil? :)
Amazing, hope you have fun with it! This tutorial can be your first starting point, you don't need to watch any of my other videos to get started :) The next video I post will also expand on the basics from this one so should be nice building blocks to learn Grease Pencil!
I have a question for you if you don't mind? Can you create or point me to a tutorial that can help me animate a giggly slime creature? I tried several things but am not advanced enough to figure it out on my own. I've tried lattices and bendy bones but I'm not getting very good results. What would you suggest or do you have a direction you could point me in? :)
At 7:03 I notice I do not have the 'Grease Pencil' option in between the 'Show Overlays' and 'Toggle X-Ray'. Does it not show with this version I'm using which is Blender 3.6.1 and I have to use Blender 4.0 and above? This would be my first tutorial in trying to understand the Grease pencil & 2d Animations side of Blender.
So far great tut. but now I'm having issues getting the 'F' button to connect 2 lines in edit mode. I'm in Blender 4.02 since that's what I have on hand. I would select the end verts of 2 lines and hit 'F' but instead of it connecting the 2 points it instead causes them to connect to their own end points of their strokes. So instead of 1 line made from 2 strokes I get 2 squished "loops" that look like strokes until you zoom in and see the verts.
Well messed with it a bit more, I guess 'F' only works with 1 stroke to close it off. I can not use it to join 2 lines together. Worked that out now back to the video
Now after rewatching that part I think the wording is misleading. I can't connect 2 points with 'F', I can only connect 2 end points of a stroke with 'F' so this is the issue I was having.
hey i had a question about the draw tool mine is stuck in lasso mode but i don't know how it got selected or how to change it is their a shortcut that would make it possible to switch back?
Loving the tutorials. Hope they keep getting the views they deserve.
Thank you so much!
