Wonderful tutorial. I spent the past five years focused on modeling, geo nodes and shader notes. This marks the beginning into Grease Pencil. Thanks very much!
I've been a 3D-artist for around 2 years now, and I still learned a lot from this video. Seriously, great job exploring and implementing all those different techniques together.
For the fog effect you can do it with camera data node in the shader editor. Add the camera data node and then link the depth socket to the math node and keep adding or subtracting until the effect start to show up.
I would definitely love to this more breakdowns like this in the future, I learned a lot just by watching this. Thank you for all the efforts you did filming and editing this video!
Thank you so much for this video!!!! Helped me a lot!! I'm still struggling with the character but I am so gratefull to you !!!! Please do more videos...
Bravo sir. I am a 2d animator who is hopeless at illustration especially painting out my won backgrounds and sets. I am very happy to model everything out but didnt fully wrap my head around how I could mix the 2. Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to more such breakdowns.
Beautiful work! Just a friendly tip, to change the thickness of the strokes, I find it better to go into edit mode, click on select mode and choose "only points", select the point and press ALT+S to scale it. Sometimes with the sculpt tools, it's harder to achieve the desired thickness. But it all comes down to what works for each one of us :)
I start to feel like grease pencil will gain over more stuff in close future, I do not do 2d but i feel like comparaison to other tool the concept look great and very very unique
Thanks for your video. What a beautiful work.! Anyway, the cat character in your video seems very adorable. Can design that character(similar shape with totally different color) with blender to use in my game?
Very nice tutorial and really well explained! Is is easier to use 3D characters in 2D animation? I assume it helps because you don't have to draw each pose. The cat characcter is not free to use?
Really like this style, thanks. One question for you; why is the mountain in front blocked by the mountain behind? Odd question, but it's there. Thank you for your time.
This is lovely! I have to ask though - how did you get your fills to match your line art so well (like at the start as you show)? It looks like its using the paint bucket tool but the line art isn't a closed curve. I feel like there's a feature or tool or something that I didn't know about.
I have a question...so i made a model and made some details on it using grease pencil..after rigging the model the grease pencil is not parented to the mesh somehow ...plz guide me or can suggest me a tutorial
@@lacruzo yeah...but it does not move with the model when i animate the rig......... i have tried parenting with the model, weight paint, parenting to the rig itself ...none of this works
hey, great work! i'm working on an indie game dev project rn and your style really inspires me. idk if you (or anyone reading this) knows of a reliable way to export the grease pencil as part of the mesh to Unity (or any other game engine), but if anyone has any advice, i'd be so beyond grateful for it!!
thanks! I know that grease pencil can be converted into a mesh but unfortunately I haven't tried it myself, so I'm not sure how well it would transfer into a game engine sorry
Lets all gather round the campfire and sing our campfire song! Our c m a r f p r s o n g song . And if you can't sing it faster then I guess you are wrong. Cuz it helps if you just sing along Bum bum bum

that's lovely to hear, thanks!
Did you first start 2 years ago, or do you mean that's when you got a job as a 3d artist?
Babe wake up! Another lacruzo video!
Every time I watch some blender tuts, I always learn something new ... and it's never simple, or easy to remember ... But it's always exiting! Thanks!
I keep forgetting all the hot keys, what can help us those who don’t do that for a living
I dont do blender myself, but I love to watch your tutorials. They're so cozy and nice❤
so nice to hear! ^^

Hey man 😊 your tutorial is absolutely 🔥 and extremely helpful 👍thankyou for posting this
wow that fog hack is mind blowing, another awesome video lacruzo, keep them coming!
thanks Levi! Glad you enjoyed it 😊
This illustration gives me serious Hilda vibes. I'm terrible at drawing but the shapes here look simple enough for me to think I can try it out.
yeah grease pencil makes it super easy to adjust and shape your drawings so it doesn't need to be perfect first time ^^
I love these tutorials, thank you! Btw you can get slightly nicer starts by choosing the Minkowsky distance in the Voronoi node.
what a talent!I like it!!!!!
The soothing vibe with a great breakdown and explanation, 🔥 as always. Waiting for your next video. ✌️
The way you explained break down is very cool. Thanq very much.

VERY GOOD GUY, I LEARNED A LOT FROM YOU, I WANT MORE TOTORIALS BECAUSE I WANTED TO DEEPER MYSELF IN THE "GREAT PENCIL"

I'm glad you enjoy them! 😄
Thanks for your video. What a beautiful work.! Anyway, the cat character in your video seems very adorable. Can design that character(similar shape with totally different color) with blender to use in my game?
Thanks! Sure, the cat isn't too unique so feel free to make something similar ^^
awesome and detailed. thanks a lot
Very nice tutorial and really well explained!

The cat characcter is not free to use?
Thanks! Yeah I think it can be easier in some ways, but it depends on what you have more experience in. It's not free to use sorry!
@@lacruzoThanks! For the moment I don't have experience with any of them :)
ผมชอบงานของคุณมากๆ ขอบคุณสำหรับคลิปสอนดีๆ ฉันได้กดติดตามช่องของคุณแล้ว :)
Quando clico no 2d animation o blender fecha e não abre a tela branca. Alguém pode me ajudar? Versão 4.2 1

❤❤ really i don't no how but i thanks you for this video
Thank you for the good video😃

thanks! I think in this case I just duplicated the line art layer and changed it's material to a fill
thank you
I'm really not familiar with 2D modeling,, please create a video of how to draw like you have down on the background
Much appreciated tho
Hello, I have a question: can this technique be used for video games?
Great 👍
Cuteee!
gracias!:D
I like this
Love it. Your tutorial 😅... I try to use blender. It hard, I don't know what I should start first.
I suggest checking out Grant Abbitt here on UA-cam, his beginner videos helped me get to grips with blender 😄
coool))) Amazing))
I have a question...so i made a model and made some details on it using grease pencil..after rigging the model the grease pencil is not parented to the mesh somehow ...plz guide me or can suggest me a tutorial
you would need to parent the grease pencil object to the model using Ctrl + P
@@lacruzo yeah...but it does not move with the model when i animate the rig......... i have tried parenting with the model, weight paint, parenting to the rig itself ...none of this works
ah sorry I'm not sure then. I haven't tried any rigging with grease pencil myself I'm afraid
is it possible to do a tutorial on how to make such cartoon material in principle?
hi , can you reexplain that cat line plz from start , thank you
Waiting for your new video ❤🎉
I have a question on the character outline, the head and body have different thickness but the value is the same on the solidify modifier.
applying the scale of your objects with "Ctrl + A" might help with that
I see my glowing vending machine bro😁😁
Thank Youuuuuu!!!

Lol. I had exactly the same idea. The outline and tint idea can be implemented with an outline and color tint shader using 3d meshes in Godot.
great
Such a shame that grease pencil objects can't be exported into game engine :( Did you have find a work around for that?
Lets all gather round the campfire and sing our campfire song! Our c m a r f p r s o n g song . And if you can't sing it faster then I guess you are wrong. Cuz it helps if you just sing along

很好的表现效果,能分享下源文件吗
Plz make a time leap of this video
your tutorials are amazing !
(why is the file name blurred ? 😂)
thank you! It's just because I had my streamer friends real name in the file and blurred it in case they didn't want it out there.
Did you make the outline art with a tablet or a mouse
All the drawings were done with a tablet 👍
Do you draw by mouse or you have a pen and table??
I use a tablet ^^
@@lacruzo Thanks to reply ! Love from India ♥️
很好的教程,加油
