Managed to get a 4v4 breakthrough multiplayer game going! This is an extremely rare occurrence because the game mode isn't very well balanced. However, in this video I'll show just how fun it can be!

This is way closer to the actual warfare than the usual "push with the halftracks" game.
Those first 2 stugs you sent in probably saved the game for your side. They just wrecked their first push at a point when there was not much defence left.
I would so love to play the breakthrough.. its a damn shame that this mode isnt more popular..
Yeah too bad attacking side has 0 to no chance of winning if the defenders are somewhat smart

Well offence is always the lessor of those two. But as seen in this video, it was extremely close.

seeing all those beheaded tank turrets in the woods is kinda creepy.

What's surprising to me is just how vital those mortars were to the enemy and... Yet it seems you didn't really so much about them? My instinct, I think, aouls have been tl invested heavier into counter-battery, and earlier.

i would have had more AA and Arty right at the beginning to counter their mortars/arty and any planes.

Breakthrough is my favorite game mode to watch. The war nerd in me would love to ATTEMPT at least a defense in depth style of defending an area with layers of trenches and barbed wire in front of wooded areas. The attackers in this vid seemed like they had the right plan, being heavy on the mortar and air support and all.

It is not supposed to be balanced. It's specially made to benefit the defending side of dug-in troops in army general. You have to balance it yourself for pvp, e.g. defenders get worse divisions

Man I want to play the game again, but for some reason the GOG launcher keeps getting errors when it tries to install the game. Might just bite the bullet and buy game on steam

I never played a game like that, so i am watching all this games: steel Division, warno, regiment, Total Conflict: Resistance, wargame red dragon. Still 100% unsure which to get. My play Style is Kampagne first, second versus k.i. and 0% int. in multiplayer against strangers
If I would suggest base on you preference, Regiment would be 1st one you might give a try. That game is focus more on campaign, so it might suit you most from the list. after that could be Steel Division (Already Full Package), WG: Red Dragon (Good Story for Campaign but A.I. is Cheat), WARNO (Still in Early Access but Good enough to play), Total Conflict (Jank but If you don't mind). I think Broken Arrow is gonna in your Wishlist too (WoC with hints of WG).
