I have an ex that owes me $300. Kept saying he would pay it back. I kept seeing on social media that be was going out with friends so I was like you have money to go out but not pay me back? I was even okay with him paying me back in installments. He never did. I got tired and of it and ended up blocking him. He was still friends with some of my other friends and whenever they would ask him if he paid me back, he would use the excuse "she blocked me on everything so how can I?" Even though he had my PayPal or he could've given it to a friend but whatever. I don't lend out money anymore :)

That cheating story is the D E F I N I T I O N of gaslighting.
He was the one who cheated and he ended up being the ‘victim’ at the end of the conversation: “Its really hurtful that you would assume that I would do that to you” , “I love you” , “believe what you want” when he could’ve acted more mature and discussed his mistake with his girlfriend, honestly if you’re gonna end up cheating dont get in a relationship with someone beforehand.

He might just be a jerk but finding out that your kid 'kind of' died and the mother was someone you weren't on good terms with, it takes someone really mature, that knows how to handle their emotions to be like "Even though I'm in pain, let me focus on your pain and see if you're good". Miscarriages are of course worse for the mothers but it can be traumatic for fathers.

It's hard until you realize that "what could have been" doesn't exist. It's just an imaginary scenario that your mind made up. It's got nothing to do with reality. You've been holding on to a fantasy, and the person you were with were never who you imagined them to be. There are of course exceptions to this, like if your partner dies or if some other circumstance forces them away from you against their will. For relationships that end with breakups though, the truth is almost always that "what could have been" could never have been, or it would have been.
Once you realize that your idea of "what could have been" isn't real, then it becomes much easier to let go and move on.

I cried when Anna described her situation because this also happened to me. A week after the breakup, I found out that I was pregnant, I wanted to communicate with him about what to do next. I wanted to get an abortion because I know I can't raise a kid by myself, and it would be unfair to bring a baby to this world knowing his/her dad doesn't even care about them. So I texted him the situation, and he responded with "What's to communicate? You made your decision." Then he ghosted on me. I am still hurt by what he said to me to this day. How can a person be this dismissive? They acted like if they don't get involved, there will be no problems or troubles. But do you know how much pain we have to bear as a woman getting an abortion?
This just happened To me. I got the abortion. He said the same. You Made the decision. Thats it. I was sick for weeks ;(
Happened to me to, but when we were spilt up this girl posted on his socials and I told him to bring my stuff back then two weeks after that I found out I was pregnant and told him he acted so supportive to whatever I chose to do, told me that girl meant nothing to him and he wanted to get back together, I told him I needed him as friend for time being then I went to hospital miscarried and texted him that I needed him to come over to be with me bc I was obviously struggling emotionally and mentally, that afternoon he went to see the girl he told me meant nothing while I was mourning alone. Yesterday after not viewing any profiles for about eight months me and my friends decided to look, the girl is three months pregnant and she’s having the baby. Absolutely rough.
In conclusion I did not need this video in my rec today. But I hope all of you are healing I feel like something like this never fully goes away we just need to find healthily ways of dealing with our pain and not projecting it onto others☺️

If you can’t see that 85% of what she was dealing with was grief/pain (physical or emotional) because of a miscarriage and only 15% because of some shitty dude, you gotta start talking to more women who have dealt with it.
She could definitely benefit from therapy, because most people could, but she probably doesn't need to hear that what happened to her was good. Stuff like that can easily be super traumatizing.
Break-ups are good? Excuse me? Break-ups are never good, something breaking apart is never good. The lessons you learn from them sometimes (not always) CAN be good, but the breakup in itself could be and often are awful, ugly and painful, so don't try to glamourise it by your misleading words.

I understand that what she was going through was difficult, but I was frustrated by the way she went about it and I didn't even know her, I can't imagine someone breaking up with me and then sending me those texts, I probably would have responded in a very similar way. He had no context for what was happening on her end, but she was behaving as if he did and it was hard to empathize with that.

I got blocked. That's it. No text, no email, no calls, no closure. NOTHING. It hurts. That was 4 years ago. Last year, I found someone who genuinely cared about me and we were in a relationship. Now we are going through a rough patch. We are on a break. I guess he wants to break up. We had a fight, and instead of dealing with the conflict, he decided to take a break. That was a month ago. When I try to convince them of something they choose their own words. They prefer to close their mind and ignore what I am trying to say. It hurts me so much because how people take my opinions matter (to a certain extent of course). Sometimes, I get tired of proving to them my point and I just go, "fine, believe what you want to believe." It is something I rarely say, and I only say when I feel most defeated.
