I was at this show, and over 30 years later it still remains one of the greatest gigs I have ever been to. This was the second song they did - if my memory serves me right - and the band carried on with the same intensity, energy and ridiculously talented performance for the next two and a half hours. They have since had to rebuild Wembley stadium and I've always said that this crowd has something to do with that 🙂
I was at the opposite end when I saw them at a pub in Perth in 1981 in front of about 300 people. They were a good little band then. Little did I know they'd end up here.
INXS made no profit for this UK gig in July 1991. The funds were used to record this concert was in 35 mm with no less than 17 cameras, helicopters & all! Remastered in 2019. Wembley set list: "Guns in the Sky" "New Sensation" "I Send a Message" "The Stairs" "Know the Difference" "Disappear" "By My Side" "Hear That Sound" "Original Sin" "The Loved One" "Wildlife" "Mystify" "Bitter Tears" "Suicide Blonde" "What You Need" "Kick" "Need You Tonight" "Mediate" "Never Tear Us Apart" l "Who Pays the Price" "Devil Inside" "Shining Star"

Yes that video is very rare as Wembley as it was doesn't exist anymore as they built a new stadium in the same place early 2000s. But as they say this was a banging performance and captures INXS at the very peak.
Aussie bands rocking the world, somewhere after the Easy Beats broke 'Friday On My Mind' Australians discovered their own, Little River Band, Men at Work, AC/DC, Midnight Oil, Crowded House, Silver Chair, INXS and a tonne of others. There'll never be a time quite like that again. Live music ruled Oz, until the big pubs started to close.
This is the old Wembley, it was knocked down and rebuilt not long after 1991. I saw them previously at the smaller venue on the site, Wembley Arena in 1988. Top band live.
I saw INXS in Wagga Wagga NSW in the early 1980's at the Riverina Australian Football Club (Rulies). $2 I think, they had a spiral backdrop that was supposed to spin you out. At that time they were awesome but aligned to their early albums which were a bit tougher and reflected their pub gig origins. I still love those early albums and if you don't then you can "shove it brother, just keep walking" Michael was the Mick Jagger of the new generation and it's so sad his life ended the way it did.
Not sure if you have done Queen live at Live Aid, Wembley Stadium, 1985, but i would say those 21 minutes by Queen and Freddie Mercury, was the best Live peformance EVER!! Check it out, big hugs from the UK xx
This was INXS at there absolute peak July 1991. Sadly in the next few Michael Hutchence would suffer massive brain damage from a bouncer in Amsterdam. And would never fully recover leading to his tragic death in 1997. Also by the end of 1991 Nirvana released Nevermind and the whole music scene would change overnight. From 1992 it was all downhill from INXS so what you are seeing here is literally the top of the mountain. No Australian band apart from AC/DC had been able to play stadiums this big !
Can you guys react to Def Leppard performing rock rock till you drop from Sirius xm! It was from a show they did last June of 2024. Proves they still got it.
73,000 plus people & no cameras in phones...so everyone is just enjoying the music
They were the Best band in the World at that time .....RIP M.H
Absolutely, I saw them dozens of times, starting in 82’, probably the most complete band ever, always put on a great show.

Michael jokingly said at that concert "This is the biggest pub we've ever played"
They were probably the most awesome band in the late 80s and 90s. RIP Micheal. 😭

Fantastic, I forgot how good his voice was! Even the deaf would have enjoyed that, the floor would be bouncing! Wow! 🙋🎉

This song is one of my faves!
I saw INXS live at Wembley but that was when they were just a support act for Queen in 1986

I was fortunate to see INXS play the same year at the Perth Entertainment Centre in West Australia. They were supported by Ratcat, AMAZING concert!
What an amazing song. INXS were a machine ... falling down the mountain etc such incredible songs between 1984-1990. R.I.P. Michael H

Michael is one of the best lead singers ever. Many of his contemporaries would say so too
Anything from this concert is a banger, but I'd definitely check out "What You Need" - they are right in the groove with that track.
They have done it 😊

I was devastated when Michael passed😢 He’s got the good looks of Jim Morrison “Yummo”😊
❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥
God i miss this band

Michael definitely has that X FACTOR (not every artist does)

The official music video studio version is so much better!
