To be at an INXS concert was an experience like no other - Michael Hutchence had an amazing stage presence that I have not seen since. He had the ability to make u feel like you were the only person in the room and he just oozed sex appeal.
Yeah, been saying the same a lot lately. With UA-cam & reaction vids, folk from all over the planet are getting to hear & see kickass bands they've never had the pleasure of.. 🇦🇺🤘🤘
Believe me, I've been following Australian bands since the 80's. I love Australian rock I'm from Brazil and I have cds from several Australian bands: INXS, Hunters & Collectors, Noiseworks, Hoodoo Gurus, Spy vs Spy, James Rayne, Midnight Oil, Gang Gajang, Crowded House, Diesel, Australian Crawl, Cold Chisel, AC / DC, The Angels, The Choirboys etc ... etc ... I'm not the only one!
One of the reasons why concerts of this era and before were so great...not a bloody phone in site! These days it'd be 1000's of people staring at screens!
MIchael was like a magnet...you literally couldn't take your eyes off him when he was on stage...or on the screen... great band. When they first started a lot of people said he was trying to be a Mick Jagger knockoff... personally I never saw that... Michael just oozed an appeal that I haven't found in anyone else.
Straight bloke who paid $6 to see them at the Rules Club in Wagga c1982 says Michael is one the most charismatic people that have graced the stage. Objectively you have to say he was hot AF, leaving aside he could really sing!
@@nickmaguire4914 Totally agree...Saw them a fair few times whilst they were living in Perth back in the early early days.... Talented bunch of musicians for sure...the Fariss bros were blessed with great genes also !
I think Michael was better than Mick. Not that he would ever have tried to be anyone else, let alone him. Michael had so much more to him. Aside from his sex appeal. His talent was off the charts.
Had a ticket for this concert, but, as it was an all day gig and I didn't think much of the support acts, I sold it to a mate. Probably my biggest regret
I was a 26 year old Aussie🇦🇺 living in the UK for 3 years at the time and went to this concert. It was absolutely amazing. Just walking into the venue the Vibe was so killer. It was an afternoon evening concert, starting off with bands like.. Hothouse Flowers, Deborah Harry, Jesus Jones, Roachford, and Jellyfish. Then INXS took the stage and blew us all away. 56 now & still get off on this concert. RIP Michael ❤️ You should check out some Roachford too!! Start with 'Only to be with you'. 👍👍 Very cool stuff😎
I have their very first album, my fav song is we are the vegetables, also amazing to hear how Michaels voice improved over the years, so many great memories with this band
You need to watch the WHOLE Wimbley concert. One of the BEST I've ever watched. Music and musicians were phenomenal! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I bought the concert on UA-cam just so I could watch it whenever I wanted. Which is quite often.
This right here. Give me a time machine with the option to go to one concert ever, and it would be this one. What a sensational live act. 10/10 absolutely unbeatable at their peak. Three brothers and a few school friends absolutely conquering the world, and having a ball doing it.
Omg yes, absolutely. I was only 16 and on the other side of the globe, in Arkansas. I’ve been a HUGE INXS fan since the 80’s, when I was just old enough to really start getting into bands, but w/o the type of parents willing to fly/drive me to Dallas or somewhere else relatively close, I missed out on seeing them w/Michael. I did see them in 2006 w/JD Fortune and it was still in my top 5 concerts ever! It wasn’t just Michael, these guys are real brothers/friends and have great chemistry together. They really come across as the type of guys I’d love to kick back and hang out with, aside from being great musicians.
EVERY song on just about every album they had was just as good as this! Even better. The sound they had was well before their time. No one else compared. It was so unique & still sounds just as current as today! If only he was alive today. It would have been amazing to hear what they would have produced later on. Michael's stage presence was electrifying. Addictive & hypnotic. Always leaves you wanting more. We miss you Michael 💗
INXS was the first proper concert I went to in 1988. They were absolutely fantastic. It was so good to experience concerts without mobile phones because you could just be mesmerized by the performance instead of trying to record it.
One of teh first Cds I ever bought. Magical performance by one of the great bands. Sucha tragic early end to such a talented individual. Michael was a truly great performer.
About time!!!!! One of Australia's greatest ever bands!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much for doing these videos and helping younger people discover the genius of INXS (and Michael Hutchence). What I’ve always found super unique and interesting about them is that the melody is completely carried by Michael’s vocal without any instrument sharing the load. So he’s literally dining just over a beat/riff. Thank you again from a Gen X’er 😊
I actually was lucky enough to see them in San Diego in the mid 80's and met them backstage. I was in beauty school then and offered to do their hair if they would take me with them. Unfortunately Michael said their girlfriends wouldn't like that. He did say my hair looked cool. I said his was cooler. That was pretty much it. I cried when he died. So sad. I loved INXS.
My first ever gig when I was 15 was INXS at the SECC in Glasgow, was just before INXS were massive, waited outside to meet the band, Michael and the bass player came out with some roadies and handed out some beers and thanked folks for coming. Yip I got my first beer from Michael hutchence 😊
He was born to be on stage. I was lucky to see them twice. The Kick album was what moulded my taste in music. I cannot describe how devastating his death was.
INXS (pronounced in excess) is one of my all time favourite bands. I met Michael Hutchins years ago when INXS were just getting popular. Found him to be quite a shy guy. Very nice and humble. RIP Michael
You have to watch this whole concert - amazing! It stands up there with Live Aid, Queens Wembley concert, Glastonbury, Prince Purple Rain tour, U2 zooTV, Madonna Blonde Ambition, John Farnham and Cold Chisel, these are ones I’ve seen in my lifetime.
Best band ever. Michael’s voice was unreal & the band was a very tight outfit. Such an awesome back catalogue of songs. I was lucky enough to see them live 5 times then once more after Michael passed. That whole Wembley gig is worth checking out, they were at their peak. Only would’ve been topped if they’d closed with Don’t Change.
INXS great Aussie band in the 80/90s. Michael RIP 😥. Nick, glad you liked it… enjoy your journey of discovery of the great performers we grew up with in Aus.
Loved your reaction! INXS, biggest band in the world, only rivaled by U2 at the time of Michael's passing. "Never Tear Us Apart" is another one of many great ones.
I first saw INXS in 1979 at Monash University. They were the support act for the Ramones. They then went on to be one of the biggest band in the world.
Fantastic reaction. Every song you choose from this performance will be absolute fire guaranteed. I was fortunate enough to see this tour back in the day and it left a permanent mark on me. INXS were huge back in the day and well known as one of the premier live acts of the time. For INXS fans, the loss of Michael still affects us. It brought a tear to my eye to hear you say he's been reborn. Please keep looking into them, both live and videos. For the next live performance I'd love to see you react to Original Sin or Suicide Blonde from this same show, or The Loved One live in 87 from Australia. You will be amazed.
Great watching you having so much fun seeing INXS. RIP Michael. A lot of theories around the way he passed away, he passed away in his hotel room at the Ritz Carlton, Double Bay, Sydney. Way too young to have lost such incredible talent. 😢
I was fortunate enough when i was 16 saved up my pocket money every week to buy my first concert ticket and INXS were my first live band i'd seen at the boondall entertainment centre in Brisbane Australia was the KICK album tour and was definitely kicking even had guitarist skate boarding on stage with ramps at each end. was 1 of the best concert even to date i've been to. Glad you enjoyed. kiss the dirt {falling down the mountain| is a good song to listen out for from INXS and 1 of my favs
My favorite ever frontman and incase you didn't realise he was putting on a Pommy accent for the crowd 😂. He was separated from his little girl and only child Tiger-Lilly who was in England when he tragically died in Sydney. I can relate because there's no worse hurt than not seeing your child . Much love Michael X.
One of the best bands ever! Michael had such presence, he was fantastic. Saw them live in concert, even though we had last row seats it was still fantastic. Never forgotten Michael. Nice to see you getting funky, loved it.

So glad you loved 💕 it! INXS were fire 🔥 live. Their sound was unique a blend of techno, rock soul and funk. Thankyou so much for the rebirth on your channel. He suffered greatly afterwards so tragic. Thanks again for your reaction it was all I hoped it would be and more!
Best frontman of all time and a helluva singer.
