THAT'S THE THING ABOUT DAUGHTERS, THEY KEEP GETTING OLDER YOU STAY THE SAME AGE.
I DIED
+Kiyoshi Fujino The most interesting part of this joke is that in Dazed and Confused(McConaughe's first role ever) he said :"That's what I love about high school girls, I keep getting older, they stay the same age
+yoyotam123 thatsthejoke.jpg
+Kiyoshi Fujino
That joke was on-fucking-point. I had to pause and go back to see the stuff I missed while I was laughing. It was not the only joke that did that to me in this episode either.
+Kiyoshi Fujino This is the best line I've heard this year.
+GuyWithAnAmazingHat love the T.A.R.D.I.S hat
"The only reason he accept this mission is because he wants to save his daughter... and also his son a tiny bit" LOL
So why didn't they just go to Mars?
Was it because of Matt Damon spreading shit everywhere like a hundred years ago?
Yeahhhhhhh...
+No Bueno Because they can't live there? Don't be fooled by the latest movies and news, we can NOT live in Mars..
+No Bueno Yeah why did they not go to Mars, instead of building a vastly expensive space station? Sure, Mars is cold and somewhat crappy, and yes, I would explore exoplanets if someone offered a ticket through a wormhole - but that minuscule space station at the end that might hold less than one millionth of humans, was surely just taking the piss. At least Mars exists. You don't need to build it, just put large biodomes on it. In fact if you can do it why not on the Moon? Or - Earth? Missile silos? Tankers? Underwater colonies? (Not that a fungus that eats everything from algae to wheat is even possible to start with but yeah, premise - Shhh! Don't talk about climate change!!)
TulilaSalome Hahahahaha, you salty bitch :'D
+TulilaSalome you do know that space station wasnt the only one they made, otherwise it would not be so loosely condensed in terms of population. In the end they found "the answer" to make space travel so convenient and easy they could spend little resources to get plenty of those up and going.
That burn was so sick. Future civilizations will use its heat to survive after the heat death of the universe.
Chris Nolan is the only guy who can bring complex scientific ideas into the mainstream and still pocket $700m for a studio. Pure artist and an absolute legend.
No offense to Nolan. Overall great director but Idk I thought this movie was shit.
anyone else starting to love these more than Honest Trailers?
Definitely!
+Atrijit Das Honest Trailers has been in a slump for a while, sadly. Earthling Cinema has always been good, but the last couple of episodes have really raised the bar. They're getting better. It's nice to see they're not just phoning it in like channels/shows tend to do when they this big.
+Atrijit Das I don't love anything more then Honest Trailers .... btw, what is it with those bullshit eyebrows?
+Stefán Atli Jakobsson he's remotely related to Martin Scorsese
Atrijit Das haha ... makes sense now
Wtf is a "photon destabilizer?" They're photons, they're as unstable as they're going to get.
Hahahahahaha
+Nathaniel Cowan
I'm guessing it uses photons to destabilize things?
+AbdulRahman Tabba like a laser?
+Nathaniel Cowan
Yes, to put it in primitive human terms. I'm also guessing Garryx's people don't have fridges, they have molecular decelerators.
+Nathaniel Cowan Kitty! X3
Surprised that they didn't mention Mann being the disciple that betrayed Jesus.
I thought the same thing. It fits so well. Also, the Blight parallels the Flood, but in a contrasting fashion where the Blight dries up the Earth whereas the Flood drowned the Earth.
Dr. Mann must represent Judas then? (keeping in with the 12 disciples theme)
"Spaceship and Chill" "Barnes and Nova"
You just got yourself a new fan
"Say it, don't spray" - Biggest Roast of 2015
R.I.P Rom
"Barnes and Nova" 😂
I wish you guys had a segment on music.
+100000000000
+TheCourier what song first?
+Rippertear AKA SDL Benjii TGPASOTSISAPROA(THR)STTLOYTYVMDFTBYTBCTSAASPIYH
They gotta do Pink Floyd
Isn't that already done by theneedledrop?
Pranay Mundra He review music but he doesn't go too far in to the underlying themes. Plus he doesn't really do older music.
"Like the Beatles said, "All you need is a yellow submarine" I freaking died 😂
Now I want a copy of the Bible whose cover says:
*Bible*
_by Jesus_
+Penny Lane Even better if the pages are just full of Hitler propaganda, but with all of the names changed to Jesus.
+Metal Monkey Or just a completely different book, like a math book or a series of instruction booklets stapled together.
Rippertear AKA SDL Benjii TGPASOTSISAPROA(THR)STTLOYTYVMDFTBYTBCTSAASPIYH Or a copy of the silmarillion!
Metal Monkey
Or, glamour magazines, attached to one another with chewing gum!
"Say it, don't spray it Rom."
Damn! No amount of cold water is gonna fix that burn!
4:54 Don't forget the Lazarus reference
I never would have taken a religieus take from this
Well Done
"the book Bible, by Jesus"
I actually laughed out loud
best part lmfao
The book Bible, by Jesus.
That line is what made the difference between upvoting the video, and adding it to favorites. My favorites list has less than 100 things on it, while my upvoted videos is over 1000 in length.
I really understood the hidden love meaning behind Interstellar when I first watched it, it really hit home with me and I'm glad you've done a video on it to explain it to others too. Interstellar is my favourite all time movie!
It was a cool movie, but I personally didn't like the love aspect, love is just an emotion.
"Fucking magnets, how do they work?"
Haha the love thing isn't for everyone
Wait...The bible was a book before being a movie, wow I should probably check it out
+Milky Cowish The Passion of Christ?
This is the End movie? 😂
The book Bible by Jesus.
What i took from it is that no higher power or alien is going to save humanity so we have to be the ones to step up and save ourselves
👏👍👍
I think it's more along the lines of when we step up and take the opportunity of saving ourselves God will help us in mysterious, unexpected and crucial ways, especially when it implies love (the action of doing good without expecting anything in return). This is shown when he sacrifices himself to save Anne Hathaway and the higher power grants him the possibility of contacting his daughter in the black hole, which makes no sense at all because physically a black hole is a concentrated lump of mass, not a literal hole. The opportunity of saving ourselves is the wormhole the higher beings create. The movie revolves around the Spanish saying "we propose, God disposes", a saying which the Catholic Church is very fond of.
+Milky Cowish The Government wants you to believe that not only God doesn't exist, but we have to be responsible for our own actions?
Sounds reasonable, but it's not true.
"What i took from it is that no higher power or alien is going to save humanity so we have to be the ones to step up and save ourselves"
"That's what the gov't wants you to think."
You're implying it..
Keep speaking for the government and hiding in your basement conspiracy theorist.
Pablo Diablo I hope you know commenting "thats that the government wants you to think" is a joke on the internet and no one is serious when they say that...
I lost it at "all you need is a yellow submarine" You had me slappin my cheeks.
"The thing about daughters...they get older...he stays the same age..." haha LOL that was such a perfectly executed joke...coming around full circle with Matthews career...this is why I love you guys.
That Dazed and Confused reference was fucking brilliant :)
+Penny Lane
what was the reference, i think i missed it
+Penny Lane Hm? I must have missed it...?
+Penny Lane Which one was that? I didn't watch the movie.
Lt. Col. Frank Slade Rippertear AKA SDL Benjii TGPASOTSISAPROA(THR)STTLOYTYVMDFTBYTBCTSAASPIYH
2:38 "That's the thing about daughters: they keep getting older, you stay the same age."
Which is a reference to Wooderson saying:
"That's what I love about these high school girls; I get older, they stay the same age."
Penny Lane
oh ok. I thought it was just an aliens joke.
5:46 "It's like the Beatles sang, all you need is a yellow submarine." LMAO
Hidden Meaning in The Grand Budapest Hotel
+Patrick Doss My only regret is that I have but one like to give.
I don't mind sci-fi movies making up what might or might not be beyond or inside a black hole, that's where the imagination comes in for the writers, a lot of times it's interesting. But as soon "Love" or "God" comes into place trying to explain away the unknowns, I lose interest.
"Red Planet" totally screwed up it's own potential with two characters and a few lines.
+Ohem1 I sometimes wonder if you _have_ to include dumb woo-ey themes like that to get Matthew McConagenahenannenny on board. True Detective also had that completely out-of-character "finding god" scene at the end.
+Heads Full Of Eyeballs To me it's just lack of creativity and giving the wrong message at the same time.
The thing is, though, the whole "Love" and "God" stuff is basically just metaphorical in this case. Love does have an effect on how the characters act, as it should, but it doesn't really affect the plot in any other way.
I believe in love and God but I agree, when they get heavily involved in sci-fi it tends to wreck the story.
True, but the way the characters harped on it killed it for me. It's a common Nolan problem: too much symbolic dialogue.
I wish the Beatles will be remembered as having composed the song "all you need is a yellow submarine" in the distant future.
fine I'll ensure it
now wheres my time machine
+Drakon66 killer Ow thanks for your endeavour!
+Lemon Curry you see the trick is to make sure they are only popular when they make that song
Inception and Interstellar are my two favorite movies from Christopher Nolan. He is so awesome.
Also both have music score from Hans Zimmer.
The Prestige is one of mine
@@w8m4n I need to download the movie. It is one of those underrated Christopher Nolan films.
@@ManyPeregrine81 it really is
4:38 barnes and nova. love it.
the best part is the "quote" from Dazed and confused at 2:37 !!!
Agreed!!! So funny!
hidden meaning of hood prank vines gone wrong gone sexual police brutality
Truth mixed with comedy. A little spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down.
Please do a video about the philosophy behind Dora the Explorer.
+As You Were Reading My Very Long Username I Stole Your Sandwich you often grow through the journey, not the destination
I hate how gravity has a higher rating on Rotten tomatoes and all the movie is about two people floating in space. Pretty much no plot just two people freaking out.
It's way more than that, you're oversimplifying
***** bad for you, I had a good time. It was super intense and visually stunning
***** fine I get it. I did relate to the main character and her fear, loneliness and desperation and also her backstory. But I get why other people don't
People were raving about it. I get that it apparently had a lot of value to the people who watched it, I just didn't see the fun in being stressed out for an hour and a half. ;) I didn't enjoy _Open Water_, I didn't think the addition of better acting was gonna improve my reaction.
Oh Garyx, you never fail to fail to disappoint.
Unlike those pesky human viruses...
"While browsing at Barnes & Nova," I'M DYINGGG.
I unsubscribed so I could subscribe again.
That line at 2:37 was fucking brilliant, well played.
Interstellar in a nutshell:
-We, the people of Earth, have the ability to figure out the physics of a wormhole and use it to travel interstellar distances.
-we can't colonize the moon for shit.
-the answer to the inter-dimensional travel,.... is love.
like, what the fuck men?
was the scriptwriter high when he wrote the move? wtf?
+onehandyguy I hate the ending but I'm not getting how did you end up with "the answer to the inter dimensional travel is love"
TheBigYC
they state that _in the movie_
like, literally.
it's not something that's hinted or anything,... it's literally presented as _the_ answer.
That was my big issue with it too, it was awesome and visually stunning they should've gone more on the science and less on the love bullshit :(
+onehandyguy -There is no physics of a wormhole. You just get in and get out the other side. You don't have to do a thing.
- Colonizing is not easy and you choose moon ? Even when mars is the best choice?. Mars is the best choice IF we have earth. Mars alone doesn't have the resources (you can't grow anything there as it has to be from earth, and that was the current problem on earth) and it doesn't have water.
- They don't say love is answer to inter-dimensional travel, like ever in the movie. Here i even give you the quote what was actually said.
"Love isn’t something we invented. It’s observable, powerful, it has to mean something… Love is the one thing we’re capable of perceiving that transcends dimensions of time and space."
I still think we REALLY need a Donnie Darko Episode
"all you need is a yellow submarine"
You always make my day Garax!! I just watched ALL your videos on your playlist. Yes, I do have a life. I just chose to spend a ridiculous portion of it watching your awesome videos! Keep consuming earth's life force one video at a time!
I love Interstellar, the space ship scenes are like physics porn. I thought all the talk about humans only protecting themselves was a bit depressing, especially because in the end we learn that there are no helpful aliens (like we assumed) but instead we were just looking out for ourselves. I'm glad to hear that that idea was subtly rejected. Also, I found the love mono-log a little out of place. Does Mat Damon represent Judas then?
"Like the book Bible by Jesus"
I actually laughed.
Best soundtrack ever
"Barnes and Nova" lmao
2:38 OMG YOU GUYS ARE TOO WITTY GOD DAMN IT!!!
+Frying Enigmas that was definitely a slow clap moment.
"Barnes and' Nova" Ingenious
spaceship and chill lol thing will be real thing one day.
Damn you Garyx... When you said "like a werewolf" I dropped my phone on a toe I bruised the other way tripping on my hoverboard.. the laughter helped the throbbing but it still kills.
Then "say it don't spray it ron" at the end lol It feels better now
haha ya burnt!
Can you do Zootopia please?
Say it don't spray it.
+gorrilaboy22 OOOOOOOOO... Burnn...
Hafidz Murshidie
Now i shall let it fester in my mind for 23 years.
LMAO HE FUCKING DID IT
AND YOU WERE FEATURED
*****:)
I caught wind of you guys because of the Rick and Morty video you did as I'm obsessed with the show, been going through your content in the last month, Earthling Cinema, Thug Notes, 8-Bit Philosophy, etc, and it's all incredible! It's actually rekindled my interest in philosophy. I'm sure this channel will go from strength to strength, keep up the great work!
I really love this channel, wisecrack IS the evidence the internet can be a great tool if you know how to search and it has helped me thru my career in Philosophy a lot, all the videos are well crafted and incredible funny, I would love to see more 8-bit philosophy videos in the future
Can I just say that the best part of this series (really the one thing making me come back, because otherwise the pacing is a little slow and has a hard time competing with HISHE, Honest Trailers and "Everything Wrong With"), is how you insert numerous little (believable) errors in Garex Wormuloid's interpretation of the artifacts/data he's uncovered from Earth's past. Like, 5 seconds into this sequence, he misidentifies the name "Hurricane Sandy" as a literal sandstorm. It's stuff like that that makes this gold. Keep being clever about it.
Just love this channel. All you guys are doing is amazing
"unlike that song, where time is on someone's side" had me giggling all the way to get ice cream.
Fantastic film choice for Hidden Meaning! All Christopher Nolan films are equally great and philosophical! Could you do 'Memento', please???
"the black hole turns out to be some kind of inter-galactic book store" - hilarious over simplification. lol!
2:30 "which he somehow figured out I guess" - no , Tars was sent to the black hole and he sent the data to him - kinda sloppy of you guys
+wapprez ikr! I thought the same thing!
This has to be one of your best movie reviews yet.
I would recommend that you do Dr. Strangelove or how I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb.
"MEIN FUHRER, I CAN WALK!!!"
Yes, I love that movie!
Trey Lower you can't fight in here! This is the War Room!
2:38 Lost it at "That's the thing about daughters. They keep getting older you stay the same age. " :D LOL
Hidden Meaning in Whiplash please
Man, a Wooterson ref? "That's the thing about daughters, they get older, I stay the same age." You have made my day!
I'd like to see more classics like "The 400 Blows" or "Duck Soup" or anything by Akira Kurosawa!
This film was simple awe inspiring. My favourite sci-fi of all time by far. Thanks for the cool facts I didn't catch before!
What pissed me off the most was he comes back to his dying daughter, says a few words, and leaves. lmao no thats not how it works.
Brandon Donovan .... because she tells him to leave and get Amelia.
watching an Earthling Cinema video is like seeing a Mazda MX5, it always makes me smile
An obvious one, LOST.
Yes.
watch?v=ZxToZvYlXCg
I so remember this scene that pretty much sums it up what msg LOST is trying to tell.
*"There are very smart man among us, man who are curious about how things work"* = Scientists, skeptics..
*Discovery and studies of "metals behave strangely"* = science
*Leaving the island* = Throw away religion
*People who want to leave the island* = People who don't have religion, don't want a religion or left a religion.
and of course, *"they are greedy, manipulative, untrustworthy & selfish"*
Disgusting, it just shows how despicable, bigoted & desperate this bunch of religious people are.
Oh and notice how the MIB is always in black and jacob is always in white.
You know the first time you watch a UA-cam channels video. And you know its gold when it comes to humor. I just subscribed a minute ago.
Do hidden meaning of:
Whiplash
Fight Club
Godfather II
Inglorious Bastards
Django Unchained
Citizen Kane
Gone with the Wind
This is an amazing list
Fight Club is done, chk channel
I'd really love to see Inglourious Basterds and Whiplash
fight club is the only film that i can see with a hidden meaning that was actually intentional. the rest, especially django and inglorious basterds are films made purely for entertainment rather than to convey a message.
+ShyanTheLegend Well, this is my opinion, but I'd say Basterds has some of a meaning. What I see(again my opinion) is Tarantino commenting on how much Americans tend to glorify their position in the war. Notice how every country present in the war aside from the Americans is rather civilised when not in battle. The Basterds were typically assholes who killed whenever they wanted. If you don't agree with me, cool, but this is what I saw
"Spaceship and chill" LOL
And this is why the Martian is thirty times better. Love doesn't turn quantum singularities into portals leading behind your kid's book shelf. And love doesn't help you survive anything. It only gives you a reason to. Logic and science on the other hand, is universally essential for survival and success.
Yes... but they weren't good enough to lead them to a planet without a black hole.
Bock3039 How dare you question the validity of new age transcendental love bullshit?! The zealots are going to come for you!
I prefer the Martian too, and I don't know what Nolan smoked when he thought of that line about love.
Marvelous Quasar Pork Man Wasn't the wormhole made by transdimensional descendants of humans? Blame those assholes.
Marvelous Quasar Pork Man He thought religious zealots would like a space movie.
Found the book and movie boring myself. I can see why some people found the bookshelf thing kind of silly but the point was that a future time was using gravity to go through the fourth dimension. They are expecting that the average movie goer can't accurately predict every future technology the human race could develop if they lived 100 million years The Martian was simply a modern day Jack London story in space.
"Say it, don't spray it, Rom." - something most people watching the film would have missed... love how it's on repeat like the biggest diss of the century in this video! :P
Barnes and Nova. Dead.
Good job with this one. Made me laugh all the way through it. And the humor, OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!
There's something off about this guy... I think it's his shirt
I knew something was off damn must be the lights, damn it who switched em off again.
+The Palash No, it's the ergonomically incorrect chair he is clearly sitting in. The bad posture is blatantly evident. Nothing but sciatica in that future.
I hope I'm spelling this right... Garex, your movie review videos are among my favorite on youtube. Very well done, sir.
Donnie Darko like if agree
I’m not convinced the guy on the water planet died. He was face down, but in a spacesuit with oxygen. If he were to wake up, only a few hours would’ve passed, they could still go back and get him.
PHILOSPHY OF GAME OF TRHONES!!!!
" I'd like to share a revelation that I've had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species and I realised that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You're a plague and we are the cure. " - Agent Smith
Would you please talking about the original Twelve Angry Men, staring Henry Fonda ?
I love Interstellar it's a fantastic movie.
Of course you'd choose the destabilizer. Wormuloids do not love. Right, Karen?
IVE BEEN WAITING FOREVER FOR THIS VIDEO! THANKS WISECRACK!!!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE just do Birdman.
"the black hole is some kind of intergalactic bookstore" HAHAHAHAHA DYING!!!!
0:46 so beautiful and so true lol
This was the best thing I've seen in a long time. "That's the thing about daughters..." LOL!!!
Do Pan's labyrinth!
This movie is that good that people are still talking about it ! :))
Why does this have 1k dislikes?
+Unseen_cougar because as soon as you say God there will be 500 people who dislike because they hate religion and 500 who dislike it because they think religion is too serious and that Copper is a false god.
Bryan Guevara k
+Unseen_cougar
Simple: because of the fanboys.
Unseen Lol well I guess you can take solace in the fact that it's only 1 out of 20 people that dislike this.
Everything everyone else replied to you, but probs also cuz the random red arrow in the thumbnail
That Dazed and Confused reference was pure gold.
From the book Bible, by Jesus. Hilarious xD
Barns and Nova! perfect, I love you guys :3
