Orange Fanta Mead....Fail

As you can see from the title, this Fanta mead... is a fail. It's a bummer, but, hey, live and learn, right?
If you want to make this to see if you can do better (and if you do, let us know what you did!):
11 355ml orange Fanta bottles (cane sugar ones from Mexico)
2 cups sugar/honey powder
1 tsp Fermaid-O
Lalvin D47
SG: 1.078

Do you think it was the dehydrated honey that made the carroty flavor? Have you used it anywhere else?

We have used it elsewhere and hasn't given us this issue!
