Man, finally. You're not only promoting the best cocktail recipes out there - your original stuff is always the best. Rums are ready - we're doing the Make and Drink Rum Barrel. So exited. Love da barrel man! It's the sh*t 🤩
Great job Derek!! Can’t wait to try this one!! The almond extract is key from Steve Cranes, it’s possibly my favorite ingredient in that barrel. Cheers!
Drinking now with some subs: barcardi 8, veritas, worthy park 108, lemon hart and giffard abricot du roussillon and it is absolutely delicious. Thanks!
Scaled it down to a half barrel recipe. This has the classic stylings of a vintage rum barrel, but the honey peach cinnamon combo really differentiates it. Even used in such small quantities, it steers the whole thing in a unique direction.
Super cool experiment, though with these many ingredients and those many rums, I feel like people are reading tea leaves in the tastings notes. Perfect example being what is arguably the best tiki drink of all time, the Trader Vic Mai Tai. Four ingredients. PS - fr you are the best tiki channel on the web right now, keep it up!
Does Derek have the healthiest, most well-adjusted notions about this cocktail stuff I’ve ever come across? Well, at least as healthy as someone with an obsessive opposition to agricole could be!
yes another great show , i would be come a patreon , but i live in england brighton by the sea , so to order anything the shiping will cost an arm & leg , thanks to you i'm well in to the cocktails & the history of it all .
That "secret" ingredient ... lol. The funny thing is I could guess what it was before the reveal just from the color of the foil on the neck. I think I may use too much of the stuff. Nah, not possible!
Now you’re just flexing on the intro editing or filming. Very recent subscriber, but I get you’re comfortable with editing or filming from your visual experiences. The rum barrel remix is still my favorite but love seeing someone else playing with syrups, blends & various tiki/cocktail concoctions. Keep the techniques & entertainment coming!!!! 👍👍
I understand that it's a kinda off topic, but do you have any extensive experience using Worthy Park 109 (if I recall correctly, you haven't used it in your videos yet)? I've seen in many small reviews and, which is more important, in Kevikn Crossman's review that it's far more similar to Demerara rums than to Jamaican ones. And it actually makes a lot of sense. It was initially made as an alternative to Pusser's rum, which is essentially a Guyanese rum, not some black Jamaican rums like Coruba. And if Jamaican distillery would want to make something akin to Demerara rum, they very well could make it. After all, we do not put Demerara rum in drinks because it's made in Guyana, but because it has the distinctive taste associated with what we imagine as Demerara rum. I would be very glad if I could hear your thoughts about it.
I think I've used it before. I know I've killed at least a couple bottles so I assume it's been on the channel before. The MaD Patreon wanted WP109 for the Barrel, but since it's harder to find I wanted to use more of a staple (Coruba) that is easier to find a sub. That and initially didnt want the higher ABV. On my long list of things to do is a dark rum video, which that will be included in. I happen to love it.
@JablinskiGames
My dude, where do you get your shirts?? They are awesome!
Love the secret ingredient fail - best part of the video
Oh no!
Nailed it!
Proud to say my collection has grown to the point where I can make this recipe immediately! May have one this evening.
Yes!
@@makeanddrinkwhere did you get the barrel glass
@tonymaldonado1659 eBay
Intro & music are really insane.
Glad to see Mount Gay being used. It’s my favorite rum for my base in a rum punch and is very versatile!
Eclipse is one of my go-to rums and much better than the price would imply.
Just made it. It's very well balanced. Thank you. I've been enjoying your show a lot! I love the great camera work and typography.
Another outstanding effort. Great intro. Love the secret ingredient. Love the collaboration with the community.
Thanks so much!
Finally, someone who says it like it is with regard to Agricole (which I love) in a Mai Tai!
Thumbs up just for the Tenacous D reference in the title.
Soon as I realized I had all these ingredients I had to give it a go. Such a great and balanced barrel! Can really taste every corner
Love the D reference
I couldn’t remember the greatest Rum Barrel in the world. 😈
@@makeanddrink And he asked us Be you beachcombers?
And we said Nay! We are but men!

I haven't watched yet but EPIC Tenacious D reference!!!
Great job Derek!! Can’t wait to try this one!! The almond extract is key from Steve Cranes, it’s possibly my favorite ingredient in that barrel. Cheers!
Love the MAD rum barrel! It was a lot of fun to test the iterations throughout the last few months
Been loving this series and this barrel looks great! Would love to see a similar look at different Navy grog recipes!
Amaizing cocktail it gives personality to Rum Barrel!
Drinking now with some subs: barcardi 8, veritas, worthy park 108, lemon hart and giffard abricot du roussillon and it is absolutely delicious. Thanks!
Very fresh and fruity for summer! Added a cinnamon stick and modernized it by serving in a YETI mug, behold The Rum Yeti !! Great dock drink.
Gotta have the 151 float
🤫

That intro! 🤩

I wil make this many more times
thanks for the time effort to make this recepie!!
Trying to gird my liver for this one! Sounds absolutely amazing! Can't wait to make it.
Say Rum Barrel, one more time.
Rum Barrel
Love this concept…I can’t drink grapefruit (statins), so I’m going to try with subbing 1oz GF with an extra 1oz Pineapple (and 1/4 Campari)
Yay! It's a delicious recipe, and a worthy tribute. Loved the dramatic intro. This was fun.
I have every single ingredient here and I was looking for something to make over the hot weekend. Excited to see how this one goes.
Go easy. It’s a lot.

I’ve been waiting for this one!
A classic in the making!
Love it :-)

I am not opposed to Agricoles.
Just in a 1944 Mai Tai
White grapefruit juice is a must! Totally have to get rid of the ruby red. IMO!
How so? It’s not available.
yes another great show , i would be come a patreon , but i live in england brighton by the sea , so to order anything the shiping will cost an arm & leg , thanks to you i'm well in to the cocktails & the history of it all .
Intro was rad lol
I suspect the "Secret Ingredient" will be even more Secret here in Canada... at least here on the west coast
That "secret" ingredient ... lol. The funny thing is I could guess what it was before the reveal just from the color of the foil on the neck. I think I may use too much of the stuff. Nah, not possible!
That was a stunt bottle. You still know nothing about what was in it!
Excellent video as always; love the Tenacious D title lol
Next level intro....so good 👍

BTW Smugglers Cove rum barrel is awesome
Dang that's a lot of ingredients 😅 I was hoping I could make it this weekend but this is going to take a bit more planning
wouldn't be a rum barrel without a shopping list of ingredients!
Where can I get this glassware is beautiful
it came from eBay
Sick intro!!!
In Switzerland or Germany i can't get any hamilton or dark coruba. What else can i use
Anything from Guyana (El Doradao) for hamilton and then really any super flavorful dark rum, preferably Jamaican.
Had a lot of fun testing this one out over the last several months, now if only I knew the secret ingred…nvm.
quiet down now.
Excellent title haha
I WILL add Smith &Cross to this😆😆😆
Tenacious D would like this video.
I forgot to tag Jablinksi Games
You missed the Beachbum’s Rum Barrel too. Anyway great video and recipe, going to give it a try but may need to swap around some of the rums.
There are dozens and dozens and dozens and dozens of barrels I didn’t cover.
@@makeanddrink you better get cracking then 😁
