They have been taught what will give them supposed 'happiness': stuff and a 'career'. A job, even if you enjoy the content, you are overworked at, missing family friend and community time, to buy stuff you are too busy to use or is only their to impress others. Humans need purpose just like dogs, we just have more options and opportunities to find it. Especially in today's social media world, we are avatars. The perfect version of ourselves. We talk more than ever but rarely listen or connect. Relationships, serving others, is just as important to humans as it is to dogs.

      He also doesn't like when you Take many Pictures of him, and i guess he copied that Behavior from my siblings and me, cuz when you do that he lays down, snuggles into a Wall or the Bottom of the Couch and Covers his Face with his paws, and if he is laying with his head head on your lap... well he tryed to Hide in my lap bevor and slammed his head into me nuts... Floyd May I got very excited to read that you’re blind and breed bully’s! The stigma behind them is so dramatically different than how the media portrays them. They’re SO smart and SO loyal, they’ll do whatever their owner asks them to. Unfortunately, the only stories people hear about are from the results of awful humans training them to be aggressive or neglecting them long term to go into a flight or flight mode. It’s unfair to bully’s to have the poor reputation when it’s almost always the human’s fault. My good friend has 4 bully’s and they’re all comically chill dogs who love to snuggle and are content chewing a bone and being lazy most of the day after a good long walk in the mornings. They’re such great dogs with the right owner! ❤️

    This is so interesting. Especially since despite feeling like a child, an extension of you and a life partner, they eventually aren't. They are an extra limb, a tool, an assistant. And one day, you have to replace them. You don't have to replace a child. Noone would ever expect you to. This is a very unique situation.

    • @LostJedi26
      @LostJedi26 4 роки тому +19

      @@LostJedi26 I'm sorry, that was poor wording. As I said, I understand the deep special emotional connection is so much more than towards a tool. I like the limb analogy Molly uses. As I said, the situation is very unique and I've got a lot of respect for it, so there is no real comparison that fits.

    • @LostJedi26
      @LostJedi26 4 роки тому +5

      @@JuMixBoox Too true. There's no actual comparison, and as someone who's had the honor of working with three beautiful guide dogs over the last sixteen years, even though one didn't work for me for very long (for various behavioral reasons), they've each tought me precious and meaningful things most pets could never teach. It's a very unique, powerful bond. I've heard it described as a dance. Others have said that the dog is the pilot and the blind person the navigator (since we tell the dog where to go, and their job is to safely take us there).
      No harm in your words. :) This video made me feel very thoughtful and made me reflect on my dogs and all they've given me.

    Love and Respect, you and Molly both. 💖
    As a disabled Army vet, I was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis about three weeks after getting an 11 week old Boxer puppy. That was just over 9 years ago, and I owe Paige my life in every sense. Blind in my left eye, deaf in my left ear, gait issues that require me to use a cane, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Paige had specialized training, but instinctively taught herself to adapt to my needs. The Chronic fatigue hit two years into being sick. She already had pro training, but this was new for both of us. I slept for 68 hours straight, and only awoke (after her barking, trying to jump on my chest) when she bit my hand (as gently as she could) and dragged me off the bed. At a CPR training, she gave the dummy actual chest compressions, after licking its face, and checking for breathing. 🤯
    Also a Buddha babe, I couldn't live my life without her. 💖🐶💖

      I totally relate to this. My husband is sometimes jealous of the bond I have with my dog, but my love for my dog doesn't take anything away from my love for him. It's not like sharing pie. I got my dog after moving away to a new place where I didn't know anyone. He got me through the death of my grandfather, the death of my uncle, and a severe bout of depression. The bond with a dog is like nothing else!

The two of you come from such different backgrounds regarding your relationships with animals, but you both understand what it means to connect with an animal on a much deeper level than most people do. There is a movement that rejects compassion , love , and wisdom. The chance to be disagreeable or hurtful has become their goal in life. Totally different example but I used to feel like I’d be weak if I took antidepressants because I felt like it meant I couldn’t handle my problems on my own. Then I actually got on them and they literally saved my life and vastly improved my quality of life and now I am such an advocate for people using aids like medication to help live a better life. This is a hard situation to be in...but try to bear one thing in mind: not every blind person gets or wants a guide dog, and they should never be forced or pushed into it. Not saying you are doing this, just that other people have done this to blind people I've known, and it's not a very nice thing to do. Most blind people don't have guide dogs, and that needs to be something we respect, even if some of us, blind or sighted, love dogs with out whole hearts.

    I learned why my Labrador was so happy during his life because I trusted him and he had a job to do that he seemed to love, he looked after me everyday like he was a trained service dog even though he wasn't. Labs are just so naturally caring and good with people with disabilities, he knew when I needed extra care or company or cheering up. He knew when I was in a lot of pain and I couldn't walk fast or far he would just walk at my pace never dragging me down the road and never trying to take me further than I could handle. I got a rescue puppy 6 months ago, and boy I was unprepared for the amount of work and patience and love it really takes to bring up a dog! She is nearly fourteen months old now, and every day I feel more bonded to her and more and more like she is beginning to trust me, and me trust her.
    She has a few worrying behaviours that at first I resented and didn’t understand how to cope with - she is my first dog ever - but now with time and research I have learnt to be more understanding towards her feelings and I’m working really hard to develop a good bond and hopefully mutual respect with her.
    I’ve really gone on a learning curve, and I do feel terribly guilty for my ignorance and lack of patience in the first couple months, and am putting a lot of effort to provide a loving and safe home for her with me!
    Her anxiety seems to be improving fast and she’s already gotten much more confident around people and other dogs, and socialisation has been going very well!
    Lots of love and thanks to you for all the super informative content you have made available to people like me learning how to be a good dog owner!

    I have been a guide dog owner for 22 years. I have owned dogs as pets for my whole life. The bond between a Guide dog and it’s owner is unlike any other. When you own a pet dog, you are the leader. When you own a Guide dog, you are still the leader but the dog has ultimate responsibility. It’s definitely more of a partnership. As a blind person, I feel my bond and trust of animals is helped by the fact that I can’t make eye contact with them. I have had several positive encounters with wild animals that would never have happened if I had been staring at them. Predators stare. I am non threatening and non confrontational because I can’t see. This has been a blessing in my life.

    You two have such a mutually beneficial energy. Molly has been a influential force on UA-cam, so I’m glad you two could meet and help each other out :) That is what life’s really about.

    dogs really make a connection with humans. my cousin and her parents moved this year to canada and they had to wait for someone to get their dog to canada to them (about 2 months). i have never seen my uncle cry more than when he had to leave his dog for 2 months, and we had a death in the family. he wasn’t the only one crying, my cousin, her mother, and everyone there who weren’t even living with the dog were tearing up.

    It's amazing how humble Cesar is while listening to her speak about her experiences. He lets her talk the majority of the time on a subject he's an expert in....truly awesome and inspirational show of character.

    This is amazing. This is what I want from UA-cam. I have been a fan of Cesar since season one of the dog whisperer but this discussion is really inspiring.

    Only thing I love more than talking about my dogs is listening to other people talk about their dogs! I love this conversation! Please keep up with the talk show!

    I'm late to watching this. But I got chills when you said they come to us at the exact time we need them. I had my dog Echo for my entire twentys. He was my best friend. And got me through a lot. I don't know if I will ever have a bond like him. The day I lost him, I started dating my now husband. I miss him so much but it he was pretty sick in the end and held on until the last moment I needed him.
