I am really enjoying your anxiety videos because it is something I struggle with as well as my dogs. I learned you have to approach your dog or any animal with 1.calm 2.confidence 3. love 4. joy in that order. also the dog responds best when the body is physically tired to where they can become submissive when you tell them to do something...This was just my first watch through I'm definetly watching again

can't believe how many years i am watching Cesar. He grew older like me but my dogs - and me! - still benefit from the time years and years ago, when he teached us all to understand dogs.
I suffer from severe anxiety and I kept stopping and rewinding the video to take notes on what you said, Mr. Millan. Thank you for addressing anxiety in humans and giving (me) a mantra to use while being around the calming energy of an animal to address this issue. you’ve been a mentor in dog behavior to me since I was little and from then onward I wanted to train dogs. Now I’m on my way to getting my vet tech license, my behavior knowledge has grown to academics like Karen Pryor and Sophia Yin, and having experience with guide dogs I plan on training service dogs. I learned that when my dogs are playing with each other that is not actual exercise. Also, learning about the agreement thing with animals was helpful.
This makes so much sense! I loved the demonstration with the llama. I have a horse that I rescued and it's been a journey for myself that's for sure. Hes very old and was abused I've had him for 2 years now and it is very hard for me to gain his trust. Unknowingly to me I've been acting too much like a predator when I approach him. You have such a wealth of knowledge it's insane! I'm so glad you started back up with youtube! Your ranch is absolutely gorgeous, most certainly a dream place I bet it's even more stunning in person! @@ChyloeReece I looked into that too. But it's like 50 people in a group and you don't get to practice with one of his dogs. If you don't have your own to bring, you just don't have one while there to work with. I would spend the money and do it if they gave you a dog to work with during the seminars. I love Cesar, he's my hero. I wish I could visit the ranch and have personal time with him like these people, or work for him

I always enjoy watching your videos. You are a great teacher. I'm watching today because we have just lost our beautiful golden retriever, Gonta. He was a good friend and so loving. I am struggling to stay calm but watching today helped me see that I can still grieve in a calm loving way and spread the love. I am a mother of 2 teenage sons and wife. My boys are hurting and I know it's harder for them to express sadness. Dogs and other animals can teach us a lot about life and relationships. Peace and love, Bonnie

Cesar is so right about walk. My 2nd lab has so much energy, and although he obeys, sometimes he gets into trouble. He went through some group training, but didn't help, so I took a private lesson to walk him. Well, after he learned to walk properly, most of his problems went away. He no longer bolts out the door, he can ignore other dogs in public spaces, and he became a little more patient and calm. He still has a long ways to go, but amazingly he passed the test for therapy dog. He's doing the field training now and actually doing well. Thanks, Cesar!

Also, do you give tours lol? I have a German shepherd dog and he will be 2yrs Christmas. He was a rescue from a family who no longer could care for him. My issue is he is extremely food aggressive and he has bite me a few times and my boyfriend twice just for being around him when he's eating.. I put his food dish up so he is not hovering over it like you have stated in the past videos but I just can't seem to break him of this agression. Oh and I also make sure he is the last one to eat and I have even tried to "pretend" eat from his bowle as well and he doesn't seem to care lol just when he has the food and if anything comes near him when he eats he will attack. Anything will help at this point bc I don't want anyone getting bit but I also love him WAY too much to get ride of him and we allll know the inevitable if he goes to a shelter with this agression and i just couldn't ever forgive myself to let him go. Love so much from Illinois ❤

That was a great example about being in a plane. If you see that your pilot is nervous you're going to be nervous too, but a calm pilot will help you be calm...and thats how your dog sees you as the leader.

Great information as always, I’ve been learning from you from the beginning of your t.v career. I’m a mail carrier and have always been an animal lover and the current rout I’m on I’ve been on for about eight years now and it’s in a dog invested area and all the other carriers hate it but I love it , it’s the only thing I love about it lol. I’ve never had a situation that got out of control, never used pepper spray just the knowledge I have learned from you. It has helped me in my personal life with human as well. You are a fountain of knowledge and can’t ever get enough. Can’t ever thank you enough. I currently have nine dogs eight of them came from my rout , people ask how I’m able to get my dogs to behave and and get along so well and so forth and I just say because of Cesar Milan, learn from him and you will learn more than just about dogs. The only fear I have is that one day you will decide that you are tired of the cameras and want to retire from the spot light but if you do I hope that your sons will continue to carry on in your footsteps to educate people .

I wish there was a Cesar in every rehoming centre. It’s so distressing for them to be surrounded by so much barking. Showing the people that work there the importance of physical exercise & mental exercise with dogs. The same with socialisation. Having kids involved in reading stories to the dogs. No touching or eye contact but just reading a book outside where the dogs are. It’s great for the kids & the dogs have somebody who’s voice they can listen to as well as being able to be as far away as they feel comfortable with. Plus, encourage kids when they are older to volunteer to walk & play with them. Kids are so cooped up with revision, social media or gaming, getting outside & getting involved with animals would surely help with their mental health & that has got to be a benefit for everybody. 🥰

Oh my gosh! I love the Job aspect, the part about school levels, and taking them to the dog park (the kids are gonna know yours has issues!) Bcuzz it's anxiety at home! I get that calmness with my horses. My anxiety will be reflected back from the horses like a mirror, but instead I can take in their calmness and reflect that back. It helps me to recognize my emotional state and find the calm and peace with them. I will try speaking out my intention to be calm.

As as a grandmother who recently enjoyed being the calming presence at my 15 and 4 year olds birthday party I love that you acknowledged the connection of calming grandparents. I only have a cat but I love pointing out when the toddlers so naturally fold to the ‘downward dog’ posture. (Yoga). 😇
My father was so great in handling and working with animals, (we had a small cow/calf ranch which he used dogs to herd the livestock) and making animals - mainly dogs & horses - WANT to work with & for him, he also trained/rehabilitated difficult or dangerous horses that no one else would touch. About 20 years ago I had a friend who for weeks kept telling me about this great guy with this tv show who could ‘train’ any dog, and she went on, and on, and on.. about your show until I knew the only way to stop my babbling friend from making funny noises & showing me the “touch”, was to watch your show, over the years I’ve seen the odd t.v. show about training dogs and was never impressed and mostly I just rolled my eyes and shut the shows off. Cesar I was astounded at your insight into animal behaviour (including humans, especially the humans holding the leash) and your techniques to actually change or alter a dog’s disposition while also recognizing and teaching their human handlers about the needs of a dog to be balanced and how to build a healthy trusting balanced relationship. I was known ( in a very small town lol) for having well trained dogs and also helping others who were having difficulties with their dogs or horses. You helped me to further understand some of the reasons behind the behaviour of a ‘rescued dog’ and some techniques to help these dogs and their ‘new’ owners because so many need more than just hugs & kisses to rehabilitate a unbalanced or insecure dog. One of my favourite episodes was when you had a woman who rescued and rehabbed dogs that currently had a golden coloured dog which was very intelligent and high prey drive, I think he was also a bit of a escape artist if I remember correctly, you took the dog over and found him the perfect home, working as a scent dog for either the Border patrol or in the mailroom, the dog found the perfect job and they were tickled pink at the dogs eagerness and natural ability. The lesson was a truly remarkable dog that fell into the right hands X3 to find the perfect fit, and sometimes a owner and a dog are just not compatible for whatever reason and that needs to be a consideration. One of the best features of your show, which I really respected, was that you spoke & acted from a good heart and kindness when you always offered to take or re-home a dog and then offered to find a more compatible match for them. I wish you would return to t.v. as there are so many dogs AND their owners which would benefit from your knowledge and insight and could very well pass that down through the generations of their families benefiting every dog they interact with, you teach so much and do it so well that most people are learning a heck of a lot more than they realize because you make it so dang entertaining to watch you figure out the puzzle of the dogs bad behavior and the technique to correct it! Anyway, thank you for teaching me things I didn’t know I needed to know, I really appreciate it 💜

the biggest take away from this one for me was at 12:42. If you absorb and spread energy it intensifies much more than if you keep it to yourself. Be calm , practice calm. Be confident, give confidence. Be love, give love. ( It just dawned on me that this "snowball effect" of energy happens at any gathering or in classrooms as well!)
