I totally thought he said "cat". And my brain went all dad joke.

That one statement just made this video from the start… Malcolm said it so naturally, and talked about Jamie’s newfound happiness & confidence. And his encouragement for other parents to sit down and listen. Love this dad. What a wonderful man.

It would be neat to see a picture of your father when he was your age.
I wished my dad was understanding and supportive with my transition. I'm a MTF transgender and he doesn't accept me, but my mom does. I live a very HAPPY life as a woman and everybody accepts me for who I am, except my dad. He doesn't even talk to me anymore :(

I’m so sorry, I know how hard it can be when your parents disappoint you. Although I’m not transgender I had to cut ties with my parents because of their abusive behavior. I do have moments when I wish I had parents but I don’t delude myself into thinking that they were ever going to fill that need. I can live my life now without their undue influence, I found that to be the greatest gift I could have given myself. I hope the best for you
Your dad is absolute legend. He isn't just accepting, he is encouraging. That's the best hope for anyone going through important radical life changes. I know this was two years ago but nice to see a family who is just chill in the transition journey.

It seems his parents are from Scotland but Jamie was brought up in England, so they're really from two different countries. So it's not that suprising.

I just love the fact that he didn't say one minute you have a girl/daughter to the second you have a boy/son but said someone and someone else at 1:32. It shows how accepting he is, and he is just wonderful!

You dad seems so nice, bless him! This video can definitely make it easier for parents with trans kids to understand and accept it. We are still the same person on the inside, and it just helps us get more confident, which I would say should be a huge relief for a parent to see! My parents are also cool with it. I am non-binary and my mum even told me she could sense that I have never felt completely happy within myself as a female. I also came out to my friends and the rest of my family. Even my grandparents were very happy for me C: We are lucky to have such amazing people in our lives. Others are not so fortunate :c

You have you're dad's nose this is fantastic! When you turn towards each other it's a mirror image! ... yours is a bit smaller but noses grow with age.

Oh yes, me too. What kind of accent is it? I turned on the subtitles, and it translated some words wrong, when your dad was talking. It said stuff about violins and potatoes :D

Jamie. I watched Bride and Prejudice last night. The biggest thing that stood out was the ignorance and hate from some of the older generations/parents etc. It made me sad and angry. However it's very eye opening and I feel that the programme painted a happy positive picture of the people in their various situations of which the programme was exploring. Also you and Shaaba are the cutest and happiest couple.
I hope that Shaabas family will learn and become more supportive. I feel sorry that Shaaba has to deal with that as well as yourself, not just the transphibia but the racial discrimination as well, but it's so amazing how strong you both are.
On top of that I just want to say...your parents are wonderful and it totally makes sense given what a kind and caring human you have turned out to be. I love your channel, I'm not trans. I've never really had any issues with my own identity. But I've had close friends and relatives go through some things.its so important that there are people such as yourself making content which helps and educates others. I would say I'm bi or pan but only because just believe love is love and I could fall in live with someone just for being kind and wonderful regardless of gender identity. I have no question as to why Shaaba loves you. You are a gorgeous and kind man. I watch your channel because you are so good to watch. So funny. So sweet you are inspiring and also stand for love and support and above all education. It's brilliant. I wish i could meet your folks they are just awesome. I'm lucky I have a wonderful non ignorant supportive family as well. It's sad that not everyone does but this is a great place to go and find some inspiration and learn that there is love and support out there. Ok I'm gonna shut up now cause I do tend to get carried away 😂 keep up the great work. X

I know you are on T and have top surgery ect. But when he called you his son, i cried a little because i would give anything for my mum to call me her son, she is excepting and im pre everything so i understand her not being able to grasp it also (not for long, im starting T soon) but you have such amazing parents

Oh God I love your dad! He's so funny! :D I was always wondering where you're coming from because I thought I could hear a very very faint accent. So now that mystery is clearly resolved :D I had no trouble understanding him but I lived in Ireland for a while... (and English is not my first language) and I really love the variety of english accents
