Thanks for watching! Playing through Cult of the Lamb right now, so that will probably be my next video. Things are finally getting less hectic for me irl, so should be back to more regular posting.
Nice. Thanks for the video, as always. I recognize a lot of mechanics from game 1, as I played it and got stuck somewhere at or after the final boss, and see a lot of new content. I think I'll pass on this one for grind and platform reasons. But thanks for reviewing it anyway as I will pick it up, if I have way too much free time.
Sucks to see the lack of new videos, this channel was pumping out consistently great content. I guess they were a lot of effort compared to the viewcount.
Just bought this game and loving it! I was playing the first one and the lack of progress was frustrating to me felt like I played days getting nowhere.. this one I feel enough variety and progression to feel worth my time. Even when I die in 2 it felt worth it and fun, in 1 I felt frustrated and pissed off😂
Great review, rogue legacy 2 is such an improvement on the first one, and i have been enjoying it a lot. You make lots of great points. Hades is a better story, (probably the best rougelite story) but in the rougelite genre, story is usually very light. I did enjoy what cellar door did with the story here its much better then rogue legacy 1.
Man, the combat and class system looks really awesome, but if there's as much precision platforming as you say that might be a dealbreaker. Is it something that's going to show up and be more or less mandatory every single run or is it just something that has a chance of appearing now and then?
I would say it comes up often, but most of is optional or avoidable (just gives extra gold or gems). That said, the 5th area and the 6th area to a lesser extent definitely have a lot of it that is mandatory while you're also facing enemies. The mandatory parts are precision platforming in the sense of needing to time properly to avoid attacks, projectiles, moving hazards, etc. Exactly how much there is definitely varies a lot run to run though
@@InsertReviews Hm. Alright, I might give it a try. If most of the mandatory stuff is in one or two areas maybe it'd possible to use certain builds to make it easier? And if it turns out to be too much right away I could always ask Steam Support for a refund.
@@MadSwedishGamer Yeah there are definitely certain characters that make those parts easier, like the astromancer's talent/skill that basically lets you just fly through damaging objects instead of needing to carefully avoid them. I do think it's worth trying! I will say that it took me close to 15 ish hours iirc before I started getting to the jumping puzzle/platforming elements that frustrated me, but you can get a good feel for the game by the time you get to the second area.

Yeah it's a good one, but only if you're ready to dedicate the time into it because of that grind.
