Because it’s been so many years since I’ve played the original, it was such a blast to play this one. Easily my second favorite game of the year so far after you know what. Though Salt & Sacrifice is about to quickly take that 2 spot when it comes out in a few days
@@Cthulhusdreams Yeah, It ended up being of the most disappointing games I can think of. Sanctuary is in my top 5 Metroidvanias ever. But getting rid of the seamless world for a hub world, and the inclusion of those ANNOYING mage fights every 2 minutes (among other annoyances) killed it for me
@@CompleteProducer84 ditto. Sanctuary was up there for me and I was so excited for sacrifice and man it sucked. I just got rouge legacy 2 and holy shit is it good. Just the first one but better in every way.
@@Cthulhusdreams For sure, and yeah Rogue Legacy 2 was a blast. That’s how you do a sequel - an upgrade over the first without doing anything too risky to ruin it
@@Cthulhusdreamscompletely disagree, sacrifice has better combat, better progression and better exploration than sanctuary, the only things sanctuary did better was its story, characters and seamless world, but I'm nor the only person who thinks this looking at the steam concurrent players, sanctuary is mostly dead now whole sacrifice still has a large and consistent community still over a year later, sanctuary was great at the time it released in 2016 because there was nothing else like it but now in 2023 there's so many games that are similar including salt and sacrifice, which is far more diverse, content rich and with the added monster hunter style elements with the mage hunts it makes it far more unique and far more fun to play, I've played over 1,200 hours with my friends since it came out, the Co op in sacrifice is just good fun, and the amount of viable builds is far greater as well, it's just a much more varied and unique experience
Silly not releasing this on Playstation, I wouldn't even known about the first game if I hadn't played it on PS4: and Vita - hopefully it comes out on PS4 and PS5 sooner or later! 🤔😯😀🤘 .
Loved the first game. Happy it's on PS5 for free with ps plus now it 8n too deep into other games. Hopefully it will still be here when I'm ready to play it.
Rogue legacy 1 was my first game that I got over 30 hours in steam. So I wanted this game as well. I have over 20 hours in it now. Its fun.. but.. a bit too much like a tycoon. I defeated 4 bosses.. and I am now only grinding for more money. Which feels really boring. Also.. the classes are a bit boring. Because some classes are useless for me. I never pick the bart. Mostly.. babarian.. which is almost always a option with the reroll function. It doesnt feel as a challenge for me. It is just killing to earn money. And when you have enough skilllevels go to the boss. I give it a 7 (because movement and visuals are good.. and the idea by concept is good)
Never understood this type of comment that people seem to love, thinking they're original and clever, yet contributes nothing.. "Soooo (goes on to incorrectly sum up the entirety of a video) with the smug "Gotcha" at the end.

Damn, I remeber putting hours into the original!
I need it on PS5 asap
They released it on Ps5 🎉

I love this game so much.
Is this coming to PS? This looks like a great side-scroller
Amazing game I’m currently level 3100 on it and on new game plus 33
Damn.. how many hours? Is there ever an end to the game?

Not as crazy about the visual style vs the first one, but seems like they've tweaked the mechanics in a really satisfying way.

Yaay bomberman
Bad review because it spoiled so much
So Rogue Legacy 1 but with alot more systems. Gotcha.
