I'm that East Texas country girl who cut off both ends..Thanks for sharing your green beans..lol I've been cooking them 7 minutes..🤦🏾♀️.. now I will make them delicious greens for my whole family I'm sure my St.Lucian hubby will luv .💐💐💐😘😘👌🏾
It’s interesting to see how different everyone cooks things. My mom cooks green beans in bacon then adds butter, salt/pepper and crushed red pepper. She’s from the south
I always find it amazing how people have their own cooking styles and all look delicious. My husband is from the south too. I also get amazed by the variation of the names in diff regions ❤️
Just asking because I'm from up north. Does everyone from the south cook things the same way and that's why people say southern food? Can you make food differently from someone else and it's prepared differently and have someone say, that's not from the south, even though the person is from there?
This is right on time! My friend blessed me with about a pound of fresh sweet green beans from her garden. They're so sweet, I eat them raw as a snack.
Your cooking method was delightful. I really appreciate that you didn't over cook these lovely vegetables. Fresh green beans taste much better when they are "lightly sautéed" rather than intentionally "over cooked"!!!
Thanks for all the great recipes! I'm a southern girl and snappin those green beans are a right of passage in our households also. The ends must come off.
In jamaica we leave the pointed part on it ix believed to have medicinal benefits, it helps with regulating the blood sugar level,it is even adviced that you drink the water after boilingit.
Then I’m mad because I didn’t cook enough green beans because I didn’t know If I was gonna like them. They turned out pretty good and now I want some more 😫😂
I love green beans. They are so versatile. I make them as a salad. Steam them in the microwave to crisp tender. Drain, add EVOO, red wine vinegar, S&P, oregano Great warm .. even better the next day chilled overnight in fridge. I also make them with sun-dried tomatoes, olive oil, and crushed red pepper.
This is just what I was looking for. I just harvested a big bunch of green beans from my garden. I can see from your page we have similar tastes. I love to cook and make UA-cam videos too. I hope we can learn more from each other. Thank you for your inspiration for tonight’s dinner!
hello tak, your cooking of this asian dish was fun to watch. think I snap each long piece in half - ends off is first. it is stir fry but tablespoon of water to steam it out then it's just crisp to eat. elle for soy bean
Hey Terri Ann making this recipe again again and again 🤣🤣🤣 today I'm paring it with your jerk honey garlic salmon recipe and some green boiled plaintain 😋
I used to have to pick the ends off by hand and my mother would be overcome with embarrassment when I accidentally left the ends on any of the ones that were served to guests 😊
I cut both ends off but I do cook it with both onions and garlic and the same wzy.. Being from the Caribbean, even if it says ready to use you wash and clean it futher...lol
We did not need to see the ends removed from all the green beans 😅 * Thanks for the video though; I'm making green beans for the first time tonight as a side dish to homemade mashed potatoes and meatloaf 👍
Are you team cut the tips off or leave as is? Let me know 🥰
Leave em on 🤞🏾
I always top and tail them.
Cut them off

Just made this! It turned out good. Tastes almost like grilled/roasted asparagus. I didn’t put enough slices of garlic, so I added garlic powder!

I’m Nigerian and we cut off both ends as well.
I’ve done it both ways. The time I left the tips on the beans tasted kinda tippy, but when I cut them off they tasted like something was missing.
Yes I definitely take the tips off
Tried this for Easter. Green beans were raw. Tried to cook longer. Finally added some stock. Going back to boiling with onion and garlic. Good luck.
