  • My Weight Loss Journey.
    I lost around 50 pounds basically walking an hour every day. I decided to make a video showing the progress so I could look back at it and keep myself both motivated and accountable. I want to continue to live this healthy lifestyle and want to document the steps that really worked for me and also the times when it wasn't easy. But if I continued to trust the process, I'd get to the goals I had set out for myself. While on this personal journey, I enjoyed watching other transformation videos on youtube so I decided to add my story to the mix to hopefully inspire and entertain others as they did me.

      @@vCloudInfo lol... so u gained most of the weight back huh... Let me give u my 3 years experience. instead hurting ur knees walking so much and time and effort. insteas buy a set of 15kg dumbbells. do a 3 reps of any work out u want to failure. when u do a rep to failure, body produces growth hormone. growth hormone will not only burns fat for next couple days, but will put u in a better mood physically and metally as well. i said heavy dumbbells because u can reach failure faster. lets say 3 reps of bicep curl. each rep to failure... for 15g i think u will rech fail at around 6th. so yeah spend 10 mins a day instead wearing out yourself walking for nothing. or doing aeroics exercises. BTW push ups also can help u lose weight. ( push up to failure)

    • @vCloudInfo
      @vCloudInfo  Рік тому +13

      So I didn't gain it all back.. only 20 out of 55.. (and that 20 fluctuates down to 15 depending on the day) BUT it definitely came back in a different form.. The body recomp is real and it is because I also started doing weight training. I totally agree that some resistance training is necessary to maintain and keep losing. I still like to walk though.. I did 4 miles today in 45 minutes.. I run outdoors and feel great afterwards. So some of the weight came back but the cardiovascular progress didn't revert back much (other than carrying around more weight).

      @@vCloudInfo for sure walking is good. But when u admit u dont like it, it means u need to listen to ur body. whe u say u dont like it, it means your cortisol level is high. cortisol locks your fat cells and instead burning fat your muscles will burn. i remember i used to sped 2 hours doing aerobics, on stationary bike, trademil, alliptical, then many abs exercises. changes were very slow. but when i started weight training i saw the real change. my error was, i didnt want to gain big muscles so i dont weight lifting, but i was wrong, u cant believe how to many videos here and even many trainers are in the wrong about human bodies. nowadays all i do is just walk to gym and back home ( its about 2.4 km total ). and i do some weight training at the gym. walking 3 miles a day everyday is not somethign u can keep doing in long term. but walking to the gym 3 days a week doing resistance training. will give u better results in 3 weeks than what u do 3 miles a day with all those exercises for 3 months. i know this for sure. BTW if sometimes u get lazy and cant walk. plank is very good. one plank to failure can keep u going for 2 days. im not a body builder or a trainer. im just a semi lazy person who looking for best options with less costs, either money or cost to the body. U know some parts of body dont recover, or if they do they recover at very low rate at some age. its best we make best use of them and not putting them under non necessary pressure. knees, joints, back, spine are those parts.

    6 months ago, I was 250 lbs. Now I weigh 177 lbs. I walk 2 5k's per day. Morning and evening. I have cervical and lumbar stenosis, and walking is low impact and something I can do. It's the only exercise I do. For me, walking is the best exercise for people who have physical limitations.

      @@sij809 Portion control. I found out what my BMR is and factored in my walking for calories burned and went from there. There are a number of calculators available online that will point you in the right direction. My BMR is around 1550 calories per day. I currently walk around 5-miles per day. My current weight is where I want to be, so I eat around 2000 calories per day. That's the formula that works for me.

    At >120Kg I started walking three months ago. At first I had to walk with the aid of a medical walking stick and could hardly manage a single street block. Sticking to my walks, this improved and I could gradually increase the distance though I had intense pains in both legs, literally from my feet to above my hips, especially late at night. Progressively this has improved to where I can now manage 6 kilometres in a walk of an hour and a half and only "really need" the cane in the second half of my walk due to pain my legs. The swelling in my feet has greatly subsided (I jumped shoe sizes from 9 to 13 before walking) and my weight is down to 111Kg. The secret I found is to have rest days to allow your body to recover and to set attainable goals where it is more important to do a little consistently than a lot at once with the expectation of instant change. My biggest obstacle is the rapid drop of energy due to diabetes 2 when I exert myself - at first this was not an issue but is now a regular occurrence at around the 4Km mark.

    • @vCloudInfo
      @vCloudInfo  Рік тому +10

      Yes! finding the time is tough.. try breaking it up, maybe 6k in the morning and then 6k in the evening. When I had extra time (usually saturdays), I would push for more steps if I felt good. then if I didn't hit numbers during the week, I knew I had banked some on the weekends. One tip that helped me though - DON'T GET STUCK ON THE NUMBERS. The only number that mattered for me was doing SOMETHING daily. So if you only have 15 minutes to walk, walk it.. don't use the excuse that there is not enough time to get the full 10 or 12k. That mentality of DO SOMETHING helped me a lot.

    Thanks for sharing. Just hit 48 years this year and I've been adding on about five or more extra pounds for the last few years. Hoping to just shed much of the extra and get more core strength over these summer months. I was a long time runner and even longer time distance walker. I can still plow through a mile in a 10 to 15 minute pace depending on hills and traffic stops, so it isn't a lot of time to log a few miles here and there. Clear the head and take in the neighborhoods.

    • @vCloudInfo
      @vCloudInfo  5 днів тому +1

      Yeah.. I do love walking outside.. 10 to 15 is a great pace. I have to REALLY push hard to grab a 10.. I'm more comfortable in the 13 to 15 minute range. But as long as I move this mass 3 miles, I'm happy regardless of pace.

    Dude, I think ur video is extremely inspirational to those who want to lose the weight. Just like you, I am very inspired by other people’s u-tube videos of losing weight….my biggest issue is that I had 13- serious surgeries to name a few: 2- back fusions, another back surgery, upper an lower neuropathy, bi-lateral carpal tunnel, 1- neck fusion, 2- tennis elbow surgeries, 4- shoulder surgeries--2- L, 2- R. A right knee maniscus surgery….Etc. But YOU have inspired me. Now I just have to just, “Do It” and Push Forward. Thank you. That one word I could not spell correctly involving my knee, numerous other surgeries as well, about 99% of them were from work. So I am going to get after it, Plus, TRY to come up with Clean Eating Meals Per Day, along with Definitely upping my Protein intake!!!! Good luck and Thank You Again.👍

What hit a cord wiht me is your consistency. I am 52. so the age bracklet is also there. as many videos i see are of younger folks.. and its easier to knock weight off before 40. So defintely inspiring. Cna u give some insight ino the strngth training you did... i would like to add that to my routine. I am at 2.2 miles miles walk a day / 4k. need to push to 5k soon.

      Hi Aarati, I agree that it’s a lot easier when you are younger. :). For strength, I started really small (just like the waking). I started with a few pushups each day (when I started I could barely do one so I did them against a wall, then on stairs, then on a bench and then on the floor eventually. I’m up to about 15 REALLY good form ones at a clip. Almost everything my first year was body weight exercises. Pushups, squats, lunges etc. I’ve recently started working with weights on a cable machine. I’ve just been trying to stay consistent and progress slowly. Keep consistent and I think you’ll do great!

      I 100% percent had those 'stalls' as well. BUT I quickly learned that the scale number is not the only measure of progress. If I reflected and was honest with myself, I would remember the huge gains in energy, spirit, confidence, stamina etc.. My advice would be to look at ALL the things that are measurable and even subjective. Fighting for a number on the scale felt like a losing battle long term for me personally. It was just one measure that I could look at for progress but there were a lot of others that I could look too when that one didn't seem to cooperate. :)

      @@AbeerSharaf No, but I've been lucky that I never had too much additional weight on my legs, it seemed to have accumulated everywhere else. It is still working for me as I'm now down to 210lbs. I have also added a weekly 1 hour cycle ride and started swimming again this week.

    I walk about 10 to 12km ( 6, 7 miles) a day. I lost 34 pounds so far in 9 months. I sleep better, feel better, have more energy, waaay less back pain and the pain in my right knee is gone.
    I always stretch first. I pick up pace in about 5 min. I was breathing like crazy at first but after a week I learned how to control my breath which gave and still gives me even more energy during my walks.
    Wishing everyone who's starting this journey all the best. It's a game changer I'm telling you!

      It's very counter intuitive to think that knee and back pain will go away but I have experienced that same result. I think it's the increased blood flow that helps keep everything loose and repaired. Great work on the 34 Pounds!

      @@vCloudInfo Yep, I have some osteoarthritis and years ago a PT told me that movement keeps joints lubricated. The more you sit, the stiffer you get! (as long as you don't have an injury, of course)

    I used to run alot and took a 4 month break, and now it's hard for me to gain momentum again. Decided to walk instead 😅and I'm loving it, aiming to lose at least 1kg 0.5lb a month so i can keep it off long term, instead of quick results that don't last long and are hard to maintain.
