Mylon LeFevre was a "gospel-rocker" guitarist from Gulfport, Mississippi. He went back and forth from gospel music to secular rock. He died on 8 September 2023 from cancer at the age of 78. Another collaboration was the one-off "The Honeydrippers": with Rober Plant, Jimmy Page, Paul Schaffer, & Nile Rogers. Organized by Atlantic Records co-founder, Ahmet Ertegun in 1984.
Blind Faith is a great example and is a wonderful record. Too bad it didn't last. I don't think that I was aware of that Lucinda Williams collaboration. Great Hiatt/Douglas pick. Love the Steve and Del choice as well.
Uh WOW - Love Pentangle - I hope you do a video soon! Uh WOW Love that Ry Cooder/Taj Mahal! And Rising Sons! Off the top of my head: Emmylou Harris collaborated with Mark Knopfler, Trey Anastasio with the Tedeschi Trucks Band, and Jerry Garcia collaborated with David Grisman. Jerry collaborated with a LOT of fellow musicians. JJ. Cale collaborated with Eric Clapton. That's all I got. I like what you presented Glen. You go for deep cuts!
"The Traveling Wilburys, Vol. 1" is probably the best example of this. I thought about Led Zeppelin, but Jimmy Page was the only somewhat famous musician at the start. A lot of music fans probably hadn't even heard of him till then. Crosby, Stills, Nash (& Young) definitely counts, though.
Cream is good, a friend of mine, way back when, played it all the time. I have The Willburys Vol.1 and it's great very unique. Thanks Glen. I gave my thumbs up as soon as I made my comment. Six comments before me didn't. Shame on them!
June 1, 1974 ; Kevin Ayers, John Cale, Nico, Eno, Mike Oldield/ Songs For Drella: Lou Reed & John Cale. My Life in the Bush of Ghosts: Bryian Eno & David Byrne.
Some great albums! Not familiar with the Taj and Ry Cooder one. 3 favourite collaborations: Andy Summers & Robert Fripp - I Advance Masked (1982) John Cale & Terry Riley - Church of Anthrax (1971) David Sylvian & Robert Fripp - The First Day (1993)
@@GlenKellawayfromthebasement The song So Sad by George Harrison is on the Alvin Lee & Mylon LeFevre album. I've had the original vinyl for a long time and need to listen to it. I was shocked to find the CD version at my local library.
Fripp & Summers; Clapton & Winwood; John Hiatt, Ry Cooder, Nick Lowe & Jim Keltner; Bearnie Leadon & Michael Georgiades; Mick Taylor & Carla Olsen, Tom Petty & Jeff Lynne
Hi Glen!!! this was a cool idea for a video and you have showed great collaborations too... but i think this was more a thing in the late 70's and maybe in the 80's, you just don't these this type of recordings now very much, or at least in the kind of music i like to listen.... the only one i can recall is the one Jimmy Page did with David Coverdale..... cheers and be well
Some good picks, hard to come up with something useful to add. One of my favorite collaborations is the live album by The Black Crows and Jimmy Page. Then of course the albums by Gov't Mule with Toots Hibbert and John Scofield, respectively. One that's kind of a collaboration, that is fantastic, is The Brothers at Madison Square Garden, the band is what Jaimoe managed to gather to play a 50th anniversary concert for the Allman Brothers (with Gregg and Butch gone). Best collaboration of 2024 so far Slash featuring all kinds of people Orgy of the Damned, Beth Hart needed a cigarette after that performance. I even like the stuff with people I don't like.
The Wilburys had the secret sauce. Talent and total music magic. Great episode Glen.
Too bad we didn’t get Volume Two..
Coverdale & Page, The Firm, Storm Corrosion
Great examples..
Nice job Glen, I always enjoy Pete and Ronnie doing Rough Mix 👍🍻
Thanks Shane..Damn..how did I miss that one..
Johnny Winter And Rick Derringer with Johnny Winter And. One studio and one live album. That live album is smokin'!
First one I thought of was Derek and The Dominos. Robin Trower and Jack Bruce put out another album in 1982 titled Truce.

Thanks for the background info👍

The Lucinda album is different but well done..

Rick..you and I seem to have a musical connection❤❤❤

Fripp with anyone is awesome..
👋😊👍
The Wilburys! I'd definitely add Billie Joe Armstrong and Norah Jones.
Good topic Glen! I would include the following: Gene Clark & Carla Olson, Gene Clark & Doug Dillard and Chris Hillman & Gram Parsons.
Awesome examples!!

George plays on the Alvin Lee and Mylon disc.
I knew there was some connection.

Bernie Leadon is one of my fav musicians but man I was disappointed in that collaboration..

That Crowes album with Page was awesome..they should have done more together..
@@GlenKellawayfromthebasement yeah, but I guess Jimmy was too busy remixing the Zeppelin stuff... 😉
