I've had my pro diver for over 2 years now. People should remember, invicta have been around a lot longer than rolex. I like passing that information along to watch snobs. It's my every day watch
Time doesn't matter. The watches are built for 2 different affordability levels. Lincoln has been around around longer than porche. It's the targeted audience more than anything
OMG! They’ve been around longer?! Really?! Well, that must mean Invicta is better than Rolex, right? So I got a $100.00 watch that’s better than a Rolex $15,000 watch! The movement is better! The materials are better! The timekeeping is better! It must be, because they’ve been around longer. Woohoo! You made my day with your asinine statement!!
I purchased my Invicta Men's 8926 Pro Diver back in 2018 for $48.00. I can relax while wearing it because it's low cost. I smashed the crystal once and replaced it myself for $7. I weld and process firewood with it on. It still keeps excellent time though it's now scratched up. I'm 75 years old and it's the best watch I've ever owned.
I just purchased the pepsi bezel pro diver in titanium with the dark blue dial that looks like a purple sometimes. It is lightweight and a beautiful watch. Last two weeks I have worn it non stop, super nice watch for 120 bucks. Amazing actually for that price.
I've had an auto invicta for ten years, still very accurate and also attractive. Overall I'm very pleased with mine so much so I've purchased several others all great quality.
I have been a fan of Invicta for many years. They are, by far, the best bang for your buck in the watch world. Most watches, even the very high end don’t cost a lot to produce. A $12,000 Rolex costs about $350 to produce and this Invicta sells for about $90 and costs roughly $45 to produce. Thank you for your honesty I really enjoyed this video!
Wow! Thanks for your words!! I wish I had a Rolex to review, but it is unaffordable for me right now... and for the next years I think 😅😅. Didnt know about the production price of Rolex. Interesting... What to say about Invicta? Good watches at a good price. Must try them. What Invicta models you have my friend? Thank you for the comment.
Spot on, so rather than making some brands 'splain their affordability, instead the question we really should be asking is... how do the so-called 'Premium' brands *_justify_* their outrageous expense? And does a watch costing literally _hundreds_ of times the price of an Invicta, also _deliver_ 'hundreds of times' more Value?
@@LowenKM The short answer is no they don't. However Rolex capitalizes on a reputation built by the Swiss and by Rolex, and as such they charge what the market will bear. It's a good watch, but it's mostly branding and advertising. They sponsor a lot of timed sporting events!
My first automatic wrist watch was an Invicta 8926OB with a Miyota movement in 2008 after I graduated from college. It's still ticking +10spd 13 years later. I bought my second 8926OB in 2016 with the NH35A movement, which I've regulated down to about +5spd and popped on a green sub bezel insert to look similar to a Lunnette Verde Sub. I also completely brushed the bracelet to make it more of a tool watch. Very sharp watch. I still wear my Invictas in place of my Omegas and Rolexes in many occasions, such as work, shopping, swimming, cruise ship or away vacation.
@@trappingthetime It sounds funny, but I had no idea the Pro Diver 8926OB was a homage of the Rolex Submariner (in fact I didn't even know what a Submariner is). I just liked the way the watch looks and purchased it.
Which bezel inserts fit? I just picked up a 5053 (40mm / stainless / blue dial / pepsi bezel, so same as yours just in a different color scheme), and am considering swapping out the dial and/or the bezel insert. I know the 28.5 mm dials for the NH35 fit, but don't know where I should be looking for a replacement bezel insert.
Pablo! As a quality Control Analyst for way too many years. I have learned this amazing fact. "Quality has nothing to do with cost." Invicta makes watch collecting fun. Great video and thanks for sharing.
Eddie! Thanks for your comment. My favourite watch for quality/price is the steeldive cap willard. As you said, quality has nothing to see with costs. This watch is the proove. Cheers mate!!
I prefer Grand Divers, no Rollie copy, better crystal, larger case and 300m WR, solid end links, better bracelet and, unlike Seiko, no misalignment issues, not to mention the great price. AliEx brands (Pagani, et al) are probably most competitive, same movement but usually sapphire and ceramic used, but they've been very hit and mostly miss, for me. Bracelets are often abysmal. I still don't understand why people can't handle the case side engraving, lol. Invicta isn't the only brand to do so, and unless one is ashamed of what they bought, the dislike is bizarre. It's the brand that kicked off my hobby, nearly 20 years ago. My first diver from them, with a Miyota movement, still runs perfectly, two decades on. I've expanded into well over 50 other brands, from affordable to pricey, but Invicta is still the brand that makes me smile. Glad to see some new opinion makers lately, recognizing the value they offer. 👍
Thank you for your comment my friend. The truth is that now I like the case engraving. I am so gratefull that Invicta bring horology to many new people who are interested in watches with mechanical movement at an affordable price. Completely agree about Pagani watches. They are awesome for the price. Even better than invicta. But I think that the quality control is not as good. Cheers!!
@@robc8468 While I can appreciate passing up on a watch that just doesn't fit properly, it's a shame about size perception in many cases, and what some just "think" is too large. My first watch was a 39.5mm, but once I tried on a 47mm, I was sold on larger watches, and anything under 42mm is like wearing a child's watch, and, although I've made some exceptions in rare instances, I won't go under 40mm. I've passed on the Tudor BB simply because it's too small at 39mm, in how it fits my 7.25 inch wrist. It's just weird, I'll see YT watch reviewers actually try on a supposedly large watch that looks perfect, yet they'll say they won't wear it because it's "too big," lol. Meanwhile they will showcase a sub-40mm piece as ideal, while it looks comically small on them. Considering average male wrist size is 7.5 inches, a Grand Diver is more than suitable for many who just overlook it based on some nonsense (not saying that applies to you at all, I'm just speaking in general). I have even seen women wearing it, who just like the look of a bigger piece. The new 50mm Rolex is abhorred by some for no other reason than case size, but it's great to see it resulting in some enthusiasts actually admitting they like a bigger watch. An extreme example, sure, but clearly there's no law on case size, is my point. Even small wristed men can wear larger watches. If the case overhangs the wrist edges, lug to lug, it's less appropriate, and perhaps better avoided, but brands can excel at making form fitting 45mm plus case designs. Invicta actually makes some much bigger watches that still fit perfectly thanks to downturned lug design. I was shocked that one of their Akula models is a crazy seeming 58mm, yet is as wrist hugging as a 43mm (a size itself that some decry as huge, wth?!). Many high end brands continue to make what are thought to be big watches, even despite the smaller trend of late. If someone has a much tinier than average wrist, I get it, sure, but a lot of it seems a bizarre bias of just thinking something is too big when it's not (the odd "dinner plate" criticism), and that's unfortunate. I really prefer wrist presence, despite not having a bigger than average perch for my watches, although 45mm to 48mm is probably my favorite range. But saying it's too "dammed large" makes it sound like a 70mm, LOL. I doubt it's too large in reality, in most cases, other than one's own bias from a non-existent rule about what constitutes "too" big.
Being a former owner of both several Invicta’s and only one Rolex but also a former Watch and clocks repair guy, I must admit that this is a very good video!
I own a couple of Rolexes - a DateJust and a Cellini. But I prefer to wear my Invicta Pro Diver... don't ask me why, I just love it! I think that the Invicta is fantastic value for money, and whilst I too was a little put off by the logo engraved on the case, it is scarcely visible when worn, and I think it's a very honest way of exclaiming 'I may look like a Submariner, but I'm not. This logo and the very distinctive wings on the dial say so.' I now really like these features! In other words, what I admire about this watch is that it's not a meticulously executed Rolex copy (which I wouldn't buy) but a well made homage to a fantastic design, and one that's proud to distinguish itself very openly. And if it packs up, then I'll buy another one. As I said, I love it, and I concur with your excellent assessment. Thank you! 😊
Since I was a kid I wanted a Subby. About 5 years ago I concluded that I was never going to afford one, so I bought a 2-tone, black dial Pro Diver. I've always thought the etching on the side is rather well done. Rolex: 300 meters Invicta 200 meters Rolex: ~$15,000.00 Invicta: Mine was 60 bucks. The Seiko movement keeps decent time, and for all practical purposes the Invicta is just as good as the Rolly. What I didn't expect: I've grown to like the looks of the Invicta a little better than the Rolex.
@@TheRealDrJoey , I smiled when I read your comment. I am the same way, I have two Rolexes, three Tags, a Flieger Stowa, two Hamilton Khakis, five Invicta divers, four Orients, five premium Chinese watches, and a sh*t load of Citizen Ecos, What is funny is that in the morning, I end up putting on my 37.5mm Invicta diver, San Martin diver or Citizen Promaster Ray Mears, most of the time. So, there's that.
Several years ago, I got hooked on Invictas and have bought a couple of the big ones, but started and finished with the Grand Divers. I have large hands and wear the Grand Diver automatics and have a few quartz ones, too. Divers can be worn for any occasion.
Yep. I used to like more dressing wstches, but now I am starting to feel comfortable with divers almost in any occasion. I have a 20cm wrist size, and I like mor the 41mm to 45mm size watches. Thank you for the comment my friend.
I actually like the fact that the word "Invicta" is engraved in the watch case because it's like waving a big red flag with the words "NOT A ROLEX!" on it.
I was on a cruise to kangaroo island in Australia. Invicta had a watch stand on board. At the beginning of the trip the watches were on average $800aud. At the end of the trip returning to port they had a sale and the average price was $80 aud
This is another reason Invicta gets the vitriol it does from the watch enthusiasts community. Anyone who has a computer or smartphone can deduce the "real" price of these watches, but for people who aren't really into watches, and see what appears to be a very nice watch selling for $800, they might jump at it before they know better.
I just bought one and love it. great value. I plan to take it diving down to around 120 ft. will see just how waterproof it is really. Amazed at the quality for the money.
Please, let me know how is it going under the water. I know a professional diver who choses Invicta before any other well known and much lore expensive brand. So I will love to hear the experience from other friend of our channel. Cheers!
You are an exceptional reviewer. I literally just bought one of these after watching this video. I have been teetering on the brink for weeks. I need a watch for camping and my eyesight aint so good. This is a waterproof watch with a reliable Seiko automatic movement, with a large dial. My other watches are great and they work well in the home, but Im done with looking down and squinting at my watch in poor daylight when Im out camping. This watch looks like a good solution. Once again.... great video mate.
My 8926OB is my daily driver. I have lots of other watches, but I wear my Invicta about 90% of the time. I originally bought it as a 'stunt double' for my Submariner, but the Sub only comes out on special occasions nowadays, since it has become more valuable than my car. I actually just bought another identical Invicta two days ago, because it was on sale for $48 with free one day shipping on Prime Day. I bought it simply because I sometimes like to wear a strap, and I hate removing/replacing bracelets. I also have the 26970, which is identical except that it has a quartz movement. I use that as my 'beater' watch
I have a 2005 prodiver watch that I have worn every day since having bought for me back then. No issues still running perfectly. Cost my wife £85. Best watch I've owned
Invicta PD is a watch I like, in that it's proof that Diver's in the $lk plus range are overpriced. A nice gift to start a family member with a handsome automatic watch. Good for travel, not much to risk, but it could be mistaken for a Sub and one could be jacked.
Stainless steel, black faced dive watches all look like Rolex… Seiko, Tag etc Invicta gets heat because they’re good. It’s a fair watch for fair money. I bought a black quartz, loved it so much I got a brown automatic. Can’t recommend them highly enough
I bought an 8906 with the Myota movement back in 2011. For years I wore it to work, the beach, the pool, working around the house and yard. Watch never leaked, still keeps pretty good time and still looks good. I definitely got my 80 dollars worth and more!!!!
Wow!! Sure it worth it. Thank you for your comment as an daily user. I cant find the 8906, maybe it is the 8926? Hope you enjoy it for many more years to come. Thank you for the comment
I have been thinking about ordering one of those Invicta's for a while now. You have pretty much set my mind at ease with your review of the divers watch. I was really worried about the quality. Thank you for your review I really enjoyed watching it. You have my subscription. Cheers and have a great week.
@@federicoprice2687 I have had mine now since Christmas. I got a stainless Pro Diver with a pretty blue dial but no gold accents as I like the look of polished and brushed stainless. I am over the moon happy with it. It has the Seiko nh35a automatic movement that keeps great time. Now I'm looking forward to buying my next Invicta. I honestly don't see why they get so much hate.
I recently sold my old pro diver 8926 which had Miyota movement. I had it for 10 years and took it into the ocean, the desert and everything my backyard would throw at it, all without so much as a hiccup. It's a fantastic tool watch, beater, daily wear, whatever you need it for. For the price it cannot be beat, but I do have the same grievance with the logo engraving. ;)
Yep, the logo engraving as you can see is the house sign. I think I can forgive it fornwhat it offers for the price. The model 1953 does not have the logo engraved and it is a vintage looking pro diver. Cheers mate!!
Actually the other brands copied Invicta as they have been building these watches years before Rolex and other companies , first watches came out in 1837
I have been wearing Invicta's Grand Divers since about 2008, and I love them! I am a really big guy, at 6'6", and 340 lbs. I played American football from my middle school days until I was a pretty nasty injury to my left leg ended my playing days. I have a 23 cm wrist ( 9 inches ) and unless I am going out to a very nice restaurant or to a large corporate event, I wear one of my Grand Divers...or one of my other larger watches. I know some of the guys and ladies, that do watch reviews, think that watch sizes should stop at 42 mm...but they don't understand that smaller watches look way too small, more like a childs watch, if you have a much larger wrist. They have called larger watches a "fad"... but...larger watches have been around for at least 20 years...which means they aren't a fad. The " Pet Rock" was a fad in the 1970's...it was a popular when I was in high school...and after that Christmas it disappeared. That's a fad.
Hi my friend, I understand you, I am 6,3 (192cm) tall and 7,8 inches (20cm) wrist size. Even I am not as big as you I feel that some watches look really small on my wrist although I love the design. The size fits me the most are 45mm watches. So sorry for your big injury. Cheers!!
Understanding how these brands, Invicta, Pagani Design, etc, are able to offer these watches at rock bottom prices is key. Accepting the minor QC issues, and not minding the blatant copying these companies do, and most people don't care, it is next to impossible to compete. The world of homages has exploded and it is expanding at an exponential rate. I myself own a few of these homages and all, with 1 exception, have been terrific. At the end of the day, these are terrific watches for the money. These watches also help bring many more people into our horology world, and that's a good thing. Thank you for your thoughts and perspective. I am a first time viewer, and liked your work so much that I have subscribed to your channel. Looking forward to more great videos. Have a great weekend...cheers 👍
I can not add anything else to your comment. You said it all. Completely agree. Thank you for sharing your thouths and for the comment my friend. We have 3 more videos on the channel if you want to check them. Hope to read you again on more videos. Cheers!!
I do think now, regular straps (silicone or leather) dont fit in as well as nato straps or bracelets to the divers due to the gap they leave between the case and the lugs. Nowadays, I like more the bracelets and natos for that reason. But you know, it is a matter of taste 👍👍. Thank you for the comment. And those Casio Duros are simply really good watches for the price. We will review it soon on the channel. Cheers!!
I overpaid for my model 30094 two tone Invicta Pro Diver while on a cruise ship. Still, there was no tax or shipping included. I wear it once in a while and random people have complimented my on it. Still runs fine and keeps perfect time about 4 years since purchasing. Nice video. Thank you.
Steeldive 1953. Ceramic bezel insert, all solid bracelet, sapphire crystal, 200m water resistant with screw in crown and the same NH35 Seiko movement as the Invicta all for around $100 give or take. It may be Chinese, but I'd bet my house that the Invicta is made from Chinese parts, if not even completely Chinese. A lot of Chinese watches are junk but there are some great specced watches to be had at great prices I'd you take a look!
These watches are insane value for money ... Bulletproof Seiko movement mine runs close to chronometer spec ... These excellent watches make you realise how utterly overrated, overhyped, overpriced the rolly sub is .... Great buy ..
Bang on review. I bought the 9937ob because I wanted the SW200-1 Swiss movement, the upgraded bracelet and the upgraded crystal. Best mechanical watch I have found for the $170 I paid. Its so rare this day and age that you feel like you get your moneys worth but with the Invicta Divers you really do get more than you pay for.
I've been wearing my new Pro Diver (Black Face & Bezel) for 6 days now. It's only gained 14 seconds. That's Rolex level accuracy. BTW, I adjusted the band myself. It's not hard if you have some basic tools, like Jeweler Screwdrivers, a light Hammer, and Long-Nose pliers. AND watch a couple UA-cam Videos on different procedures that fit your tools & skill level.
I have worn an Invicta Pro-Diver with a sculpted bezel for 10 unbroken years, daily, and it still works perfectly. It loses about a minute per month but I can live with that. I clean it and the bracelet with a toothbrush and Dawn detergent. My wife was given a ladies Rolex by her company as a sales award. Two gentle years later it quit. Expensive to repair or even have it examined. She bought a ladies Bulova, had a 5 year battery installed, and it is beautiful. Perfect time, too, this after 4 years.
I bought this watch and I hated the band but the overall look of the watch I loved very beautiful, I gifted it to my brother he loves it , I'm still looking for the exact sprite bezel but in the grand diver which has solid end links and a very comfortable high quality ss strap, say what you want about invicta their builds are great value, and they got something for every quirky situation 😂 I got 10 of em love them all worry free wearable watches that's the thing , not looking at it in a case worried to take it out lol
I’m an Invicta defender. At least of the Pro Divers, the other stuff, if that’s your style, enjoy, but they are too big and over the top for me. But the Pro Diver got me into watches and I’m a big fan, owning 6, only the two tone has the original band, and I’m on my second one. The first being worn hard and almost exclusively until the clasp failed on a cliff jump. And even now, owning several much more expensive watches, the Pro Divers stay in my rotation. My favorite being the 1953 Batman Bezel. It’s got a cleaner look and the build quality is noticeably better.
Wow! 6 Pro Diver 😁😁. I have two now. That 1953 is gonna be my next Invicta, I have the 0420 Titanium Pro Diver and it is fantastic. Furthermore, the 1953 does not come with the logo engraved on the case, which is something I really like. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about Invicta my friend. Hope to see you in next videos!! Cheers!!
@@trappingthetime I forgot about my titanium Pro Diver, so 7. It’s fallen out of my rotation. Bought it as an impulse second hand on Facebook. The crown is broken, so resetting the date and time is hard. Planning on using it as a practice watch to try a bit of repair and modification. I’ve got a Batman bezel Wave Master, which I think is still under the Pro Diver family, if not, than back to just 6, lol. My only complaint on that is, the crown doesn’t screw down. The bezel doesn’t rotate either, so I guess it’s not technically a dive watch, but you’d think for a “wave master” they’d make the crown screw down to improve its water resistance.
I own An invicta aviator and yes Invicta may be big and Gawdy But for the price they are just as beautifully done as any other watch I’m looking forward to getting my first pro diver
@@stevenaltepeter5158 yeah. I had an aviator for a little while. Loved the look, two tone with a blue face. But it was just too big for my taste. Even found a cool leather strap for it, making it so much easier to wear. Works for some, I have a Invicta Reserve that’s pretty big, was my flashy watch for a while. I mainly wish the Marvel ones were a bit more subtle. Like the Citizen Brycen 80th Anniversary Captain America watch, or the Star Wars versions. The touches are there, just not yelling about it. But you’re right, the quality is far better than people seem to give them credit for.
Well done and fair review. I have always liked the Invicta 42mm Prodiver 21978 automatic, however, I would much prefere that the crystal be upgraded to sapphire. I would gladly pay more for this upgraded on the crystal. In any case, this watch is hard to beat, especially when you can pick it up for less than $70.00 US. Its a very well built watch with a high quality and workhorse Seiko NH35A automatic movement. I even can appreciate the Invicta logo ethced into the side of the case which is a very sore point for some collectors. This, in my opinion, is an Invicta idiosyncracy that offers it's own special charm . . . either you like it or you don't! 😎
I found that now I like the logo engraving on the case. I love Invicta now. I dont think that way anymore. It is an homage, yes.. but what happens? Nothing.... BTW If you want to find better bracelets, saphire cristal, and a terrific level materials for the price, just check Pagani Design. I can not believe what this watches offer for the price. Cheers my friend
I like the Pagani, but I can’t find the two-tone blue and gold in the 40mm size, which I prefer for my wrist size. So for not I’m “stuck” with the Invicta.
Great review. I actually need a diver watch and I also use a watch at work (healthcare) and I stumbled across the Invicta checking out watch videos when my extremely cheap work watch died. I really didn't want to pay an arm and a leg but I also thought I should get something quality, this seems to fit the bill. Looking forward to trying it out in the water this summer (maybe 30' ?).
Pagani 1661 was my choice for an inexpensive dive style watch. The cheaper end will always have compromises but it hard to argue against the performance & value delivered. After purchasing one of the cheaper brands, if you get a good one, it’s difficult to justify the purchase of the more expensive mainstream brands.
Pagani Design was my choice also. Green Dial, black bezel. I took off the bracelet like he did because my clasp was so tight I couldn't open it with my hands and put on a brown leather strap just like the one he has In his video. I already owned one so I didn't go out and spend $60 for it.
@@tonyrome655 I haven't owned one but it seems like they use cheap Chinese movements that are unreliable. Most of their regular auto watches use reliable Seiko or Miyota movements
I bought the 8926ob Black Bezel Invicta Pro Diver for 66 USD from Amazon in September, and I loved it. I wear it daily. My wife loved it, too, and so on Black Friday I bought two more, one for my wife, one for a friend, and at that date, I got them for 53 USD from Amazon. Keep an eye out for sales, and at $75 or under, this watch is a fantastic bargain.
I have a few of them they're decent looking watches that work as intended and you don't have to be afraid to wear it it's just a good beater watch that comes in under a hundred bucks for everyday use that doesn't feel too cheap like Walmart garbage and looks better than some digital watch made by Casio the water resistance is fine as a recreational scuba diver you're only allowed to go to 120 ft anyway which is only 36.5 m it keeps decent time I lose about 3 seconds a day so that's not a big deal once every week or two whenever I think about it I just reset my watch to my phone no big deal like I said it's just a good beater watch you don't have to be afraid to wear to work cuz I don't know about you guys but I'm just a blue collar regular guy and yeah I mean I guess I could buy a Rolex but owning a Rolex isn't really a flex if you use it to tell when your lunch breaks over I'd rather own an Invicta and take the rest of that money and go on vacation or buy used motorcycle then own a Rolex
I have the 9937ob, swiss sellita sw200-1 auto +3 seconds a day, thinner depth case 12mm, chunkier solid bracelet with milled clasp and solid end links, flame fusion crystal (thin layer of sapphire on top of mineral) and smaller engraving.. $170 on Jomashop.. I love this watch!.
@@trappingthetime thanks, and if you ever fancy having a look for yourself, then Joma have them still.. they always have a sale on too lol.. think the 9937 was $165 last time I was there.. I'm goint to mod it a little with a "Batman" ceramic insert and proper ceramic too asap.. got the parts.. but no tools! grrr :(
For me the 8926OB is so cheap that it makes a cost effective parts source for custom builds. The bezels (if you get the correct version, it can be laborious to get that right) are some of the best feeling and working available and many standard parts fit them. The cases (with various etchings removed) are better than every case I've bought separately to evaluate. They are also rated at 200M while most others are 100M. I like building in the vintage military style, and these parts work great for that. A Seiko movement that can be adjusted and regulated to chronometer specification is just icing on the cake. I almost always set them up with a nato strap of various royal regiment colors. They can even pull off the Seamaster vibe with a little machining to the case.
@@trappingthetime Yes, 'mods' is an understatement though since I'm fully rebuilding the movements, adjusting jewels, pivots and anything else to specification, regulating them for accuracy, machining the cases and using dials that make them unrecognizable. I've found a few global sources for bezel inserts and dials that positively transform these. Unfortunately Invicta's brand reputation is what it is (great value but very inexpensive) so I can't help but remove all of that. Firstly for my own edification, and then for resale value once I move them on down the road to make room for more builds. I definitely agree, you get far more than you pay for with these.
Nice for the price point hard to bet I have that same watch, that's what Invicta do at affordable prices. but you hit on all the points THANK YOU.i been a Invicta snob for Many decades ago love the company a grand Diver is a PRO Diver just made bigger lol its true. Love The company INVICTA DO WHAT INVICTA DO love it.
I have a 40mm prodiver gold case with black face and bezel. I own many nice watches far more expensive. But very surprised how good it is. + 6 seconds a day and wears well. I wear it swimming and it's a nice bit of 'bling' and is water tight. I don't worry about damaging it. But surprisingly, not one bit of gold plating has worn anywhere. Which is astonishing. I know its not sapphire glass, I know the lume is poor, I know the end links aren't solid. But for the money it is very well executed.
I've had an invicta pro diver for 15 years now and it's been flawless. I did change a few things though. I make custom knives as a hobby so i have an excellent 72" belt grinder which i used to remove the logo off the side of the watch and then re-brushed EVERYTHING so it's nice and uniform and quite frankly, much closer to the finish found on a rolex. I do own some other watches. A Movado, a Tag, and a vintage Rolex Submariner. The problem with those watches is the fact that wearing them in public will get you robbed here in Southern California.
The only diver that rivals this one price-wise is the Orient Ray 2 on a rubber strap, but only when it's on sale. On Black Friday it was just about under 100 EUROs in my country (ROmania). But it's on a rubber strap, which is already a disadvantage for the Orient. Not to mention it doesn't have a display back or a cyclops. So the Invicta is truly the most watch you get for the money. If you go slightly higher in price, Invicta even has some open-heart divers and even some skeletonized "specialty" divers. Keep up the reviews, I enjoy your style, your point of view and, if I'm allowed, your accent. It is a joy to listen to.
Could be. But you have to try it. Many channel friends have commented that they own invictas from years ago and the still working perfect. There are few friends who can say the opposite.
I think it's most likely assembled in Malaysia, cause there, they have experience with assembling watches for Seiko. We're taking about superb assembly quality here. And polishing as well.
Yep I think a Diver has to go with nato or bracelet. Not with that cow strap. Beginners mistakes I made... hehe. Completely agree with you!! Thank you for your comment my friend.
It looks great on a leather nato but then what’s the point of a diver which can’t go in the water. A nylon nato gives that cool Bond vibe but i hate a wet soggy strap. I settled on a high quality rubber strap. It’s wavy and stretchy super comfortable and dries instantly. Makes you look like a seasoned professional too.
I have quite a number of Invicta's and i know there is a lot of hate for these watches but they do what they say on the tin and personally i have had nothing but good reliable service from them all and you cant say better than that!
Yep, 100% agree mate. Invicta is a must have. A friend of this channel said he has got a rolex submariner and an invicta. And he told us that the nh35 keeps more precise than his rolex. So he take it everywhere. Cheers mate!!
Thank you my friend 😆😆😆. Wellcome here also, and thank you so much for your support!! 🙌🙌🙌🙌 I train as well my English answering comments. I am André, BTW.
I could add it's a great watch to start modding. After many years of service, my very first automatic, a 8927 from 2017 had a little water leakage because I forgot to screw the crown. After a week in rice, the humidity was gone and it remains a good field watch. But the time has come to get rid of that Invicta dial and rusty hands
Really nice job my friend. You managed to put away any biases that you may have had and bring us an honest review. I too know the "reputation" of Invicta, but have a couple in my collection anyway. Some made out of titanium! I even have one with a Swiss ETA Valjoux 7750 movement that cost less than $700.00 US dollars brand new! Thanks for an honest review, and you have a new sub here my friend. God bless and take care...
Thank you for your sincere words, I'm glad you can see that we try to be as honest as possible with every review we do. I have the titanium one, the 0420, a prodiver as well, and I like it even more than this one. But the 0420 has'nt got as good lume as this 29177. I think I can deal with it. A valjoux 7750 for less than 700$. Great purchase my friend. What model is that one? God bless you.
Interesting review. I recently bought a quartz pro diver from Amazon for the princely sum of £44, blue dial and bezel, and I have to say I was impressed with the quality. First time I wore it outside someone asked if it was a ‘knock-off’ Rolex. That for me is the eternal problem with these ‘homage’ watches and why I always try to wear more original designs, or at least something not trying to hard to copy another watch.
I have an 8926OB I got a few years ago. I love it, but I will say the bezel on mine did not turn very easily at first. It breaks in with use and it works fine now, so maybe they improved.
I have a 9402(?), really like it for the price. Great entry watch. Great video! I saw a mod video of grinding off the "INVICTA" from the side, and heating the cyclops with a blow dryer and removing it. On the list of things to do.
When I started getting interested in mechanical watches about 7 years ago, I didn't have any money. I studied and saw tons of great brands but with prices that where way out of my league. I wanted a mechanical watch anyway and I rapidly stumbled on Invicta. They had alot of models at great prices. Of course, the movement wasn't the best (NH35) quality wise and accuracy wise, but a quick regulation made it perfect (0 sec/day gain/loss and 0.0 beat error), far better than much more expensive entry swiss brands. Of course, the quality of bracelet, the metal, the acrylic glass didn't meet up higher standards, but it didn't came with the price tag either. The crown gripped well, the bezel worked fine with nice click sound, even the 200m underwater pressure test worked flawlessly. The watch had no flaws really. Yes, it looked like a Rolex Submariner, but so what ? It costed 100 times less !!! It was a nice bargain workhorse then and it still ticks with constancy today. For an around 100 can$, nothing that good came close to it then and I'm not sure it still could today as newer Invicta models seems to go with swiss clone movement nowadays. All in all, I still wear it today sometimes. It's an all arounder watch that prenetends to nothing; it just works very well and "just happens" to look like a Rolex. What's to blame on that 🙂
Nothing else to say. You nailed it. You buy an Invicta, you get an Invicta, with all it takes. Logo, engraved on the case, some of their most popular models are homages... but mechanical for around 100$. I think it is a great choice for a beginner or someone who can not afford any other mechanical watch that reaches this Invicta's quality/price rates. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Cheers!!
I bought my pro -diver automatic in 04' for $65 from WorldofWatches. It loses 2min a week. My 2 boys have worn this watch. It still has No scratches and looks great. At the time, I already had a "Constellation" Chronometer Two Tone which I had purchased in 2000 and didn't want to wear every day. The pro diver to me is like a Town Car that rode better than a Bentley I recently sold. Rode better than my 2015 amg65, and yet you could buy it for $22k back in 86' when a Merc was an astonishing $75k. More than average House. My father did 400k on tha
Car back in the day. Don't know if it's a fair comparison? But I know One thing. The jack asses that hate this watch and come on here comparing it to a $10k look a Like know very well its a dumb thing to do. They do it because they're fucking Assholes. No one is in love with invicta. It's a piece of man made device that tells SAME time as one costing $1M. Some of us just appreciate and scratch our heads at how good This One works for the Same $100 it did Over 20 yrs ago.
Great review. It's nice to see an honest review of Invicta instead of the usual watch snobbery trashing it just because it has that name badge. The truth is that Invicta is one of the largest watch sellers on the planet and can't be beaten for the money. They have thousands of styles that range form the absurdly ugly to watches that rival Rolex, Omega and Breitling in appearance. I own ten of these in different colors and case sizes and they have been taken in the ocean, hiking... and are perfect. Invicta's business model is high volume/low margin whereas luxury brands are the opposite. They also avoid the middleman for the most part in their distribution model. That alone cuts out a normally sizeable markup. A $10,000 watch is not necessarily "better", but rather different and costs more. Bottom line is that they both tell time. When ego and status are removed from the equation, it actually makes more sense to buy something reasonably priced (not cheap) and use the money elsewhere. If Rolex, Omega, Tag removed their name badges and all identifying branding, no one would buy them. At the end of the day, it's really about personal style and choice regardless of price.
@@trappingthetime none yet. Probably will just replace the movement when it finally quits. That seems like the cheapest way for such an inexpensive watch.
Thanks for the reivew. Would you happen to know how this Invicat automatic compares to other automatics (Seiko and/or Rolex, etc.) in terms of accuracy?
They make a 42 mm black pro diver with a selita swiss movement which seems really nice , im thinking about buying one to see if its any better than the seiko NH35 . the NH35 is actually pretty darn reliable and keeps good time .
Everybody is ripping off the Sub so not a big deal to me. My Pro diver runs within a second or 2 per day which is amazing accuracy for a mechanical watch especially at the price.
You damn right I have had three I currently have 1 8296 ob and also a silver automatic Ocean Ghost with green bezel and green mother of pearl dial. When I copped my PD in 2010 a guy did a vid comparing it to his Rolex he said it kept time about the same and I was sold. People see the likeness to Rolex and hate on Invicta I have Swiss made Invictas from 2010-2012 that I still have and all have beautiful calf leather bands…
Have you looked at or reviewed the Steeldive range at all? These also utilise the NH35 and NH36 movements and are amazing value for money, including the range of 'Willards'. Well worth a review. (I have no interest in Steeldive by the way!)
We will publish the SteelDive Cap willard on next video I think. It is an awesome wstch for the price. It is just that you dont know when the poor quality control of this brand is gonna hit your SteelDive. Great chinese brand that offers homages with good quality materials and an incredible price. Thanks for the comment. !!
I just bought the 42mm pro diver, all black and white, can't wait to get it. I wish it came with the oyster bracelet and not the jubilee (which the smaller one does). I'll be swapping that out for a rubber, or maybe leather band now (based on how good that one looks). I currently wear the Citizen Promaster and am looking forward to having an alternate to wear. Price edit: I paid $95 US for mine.
I love my 3 invictas. I have heard that people think the Subby homages from Loreo and Pagani Design are even better for less than 100 Euros, and I think they both come with Ceramic bezels, which would be a real upgrade. Overall, couldn't agree more with you on the value for money on the invictas.
Pagani is awesome as well, and SteelDive too. You will se how the value for the money of this 3 brands are awesome. It is just that the quality control at Pagani and SteelDive maybe is not that good. But you know... what you get for what you pay is incredible
There are a few bumps on the road with this brand. Quality control is so, so, and more defective units hit the market than should. Warranty service In USA, requires $28.00 handling charge which is about 30-40% of the purchase price. (But, then again quite a few upscale manufacturers have been known to be dodgey in providing post-sale service. )
@@trappingthetime won invicta speciellimit collekter White whit 3 ring insid ho iskronograf o runtim, and The ader whon is a invickta pro diver in black and gould, and bott show time exakt.👍👍👍👍
I think the SteelDive 1970 Cap Will. Is the best watch I have. It had a 1sec per day delay, better than watches 20 times expensier I have, (until I dropped it on the floor accidentaly). Now it has a 6 secs per day delay. I can not believe the quality of this watch, the lume, the finishes and details have as good look and feelling as seiko's pieces. On the other hand, if you buy it, it is a lottery, cause, when are you gonna get the bad unit? there is not guarantee about quality control on this watches. Soon we will review it. As the pagany daytona, other one you cant believe the quality for its price. Thanks for the comment mate. Cheers!!
Nothing to do. They have their own designs, and quality-price ratio... a monster. I think Orient is one of my favourite brands and I think Epson is trying to put this brand where Seiko was on the market years ago, great quality wathches at a very good price.
They have a new pro diver "master of the seas" that is slightly larger than the normal pro diver, closer to the grand diver size and doesn't have the huge protruding case back.
I've had my pro diver for over 2 years now. People should remember, invicta have been around a lot longer than rolex. I like passing that information along to watch snobs. It's my every day watch
Great reminder. As time goes by, I love more Invicta for its surprising price/quality ratio. Thanks for the comment👍👍 Cheers!!
@@justmeeagainnYou are using inappropriate language and You know that was not the point!
You should be thrown off this site. When you talk like that, you've already lost the argument!
I've owned my Invicta Pro Diver for 2 years. No problems at all. It gets plenty of wrist time.
No shame at all when I wear it.
Buy what you like.
Yep, as time goes by, I like more and more invicta, I have now the titanium version of the prodiver. It is awesome.
Great brand and awesome quality Invicta brings to the watch market for the price. Hope you enjoy all of them. Thank you for the comment.
Nothing can touch the price-value ratio of Invicta‘s Pro Divers.
Let me say SteelDive (AddiesDive) and Pagani Design.
I would disagree on Pagani--they're all show and barely go. The San Martin SN019 is a far better homage than the Pagani.
Yesss!!
8:05 - 8:30 Should make Every Swiss Brand and Their Buyers Cringe with Embarrassment !
That is a great idea. Why to use such great pieces like Omega and Rolex when you can use this? Smart decision. Just save them for special moments.
@@Justin.Franks did you mesure the bezel insert diameter ? maybe it's similar to skx insert
I received my order with the return slip from the last owner still in the box! This from Shop HQ!
Cheers!!
Grand diver is too damned large for a lot of us.
Wait, what? You have Rolex and Invicta? I thought Rolez owners hate Invicta for copying their designs. Thank you for your nice words. Cheers mate!!
Me too!
@Federico_Price very true and encouraging statement! Thank you!
It's because the submariner isn't worth the money you buy it for.

What a sale!! Did you got one? 😊😊
@@trappingthetime yer I got two. I felt sorry for the guy that got one at the start of the trip though lol.
😅😅😅 You enjoyed it 10 times cheaper 👍👍
Invicta PD is a watch I like, in that it's proof that Diver's in the
$lk plus range are overpriced. A nice gift to start a family member
with a handsome automatic watch. Good for travel, not much to
risk, but it could be mistaken for a Sub and one could be jacked.
I paid 40 for mine. If they asked nicely I'd probably just give it to them.
Thank you for the comment, I agree with you. cheers!!

Cheers!!
I buy the 40 mm a year ago ... very good watch ... easy to regulate (thank's the Seiko NH35A) to + 1sec /day .. more than happy 😀
You have to be happy!! 😁😁 Cheers!
Cheers!!
@@trappingthetime Thank you very much my friend. I will absolutely take a look at your other videos. Be well and have a great weekend 👍
I own three Casio Duros (the “Ernie” to the PD “Bert”), and replaced the resin straps with Barton silicone. Huge improvement.
Nice video. Thank you.
Awesome video. I can NOT find a justifiable reason why I should NOT have this watch in my collection.
Neither I! Thank you for the comment. Cheers!!
The Rolex has stablished prices, the problem is the bandits whos sells after kidnap them
@@muchacho123dnt Can you re-write your comment in COMPREHENSIBLE English, IT MAKES NO SENSE.
Yep, I think we all who own an Invicta think the same. Wtf do I have to pay 6 times more for a Seiko? Why? Thank you for your comment my friend.
So you should check all the chinese brands... pagani, steeldive...
the bracelet is way better on the swiss mvt version?
I've been wearing my new Pro Diver (Black Face & Bezel) for 6 days now. It's only gained 14 seconds. That's Rolex level accuracy. BTW, I adjusted the band myself. It's not hard if you have some basic tools, like Jeweler Screwdrivers, a light Hammer, and Long-Nose pliers. AND watch a couple UA-cam Videos on different procedures that fit your tools & skill level.
Thank you for the tips!! Hope you enjoy that pro diver as much as we do!! Cheers mate!!
I have mine from 5 years,
Still a thing of beauty.
I’m a big fan of invicta
I’m going for pro diver gold
Any advice?
GREAT CONTENT. GOT THIS IN 47MM ON GRAND DIVER MY NUMBER 11 INVICTA. GREAT VALUE. JUST SUBSCRIBED TO YOUR CHANNEL.
It has a Seiko movement. It is a good beginner watch.
Pagani watches are great just avoid the GMT watches!!
Why avoid the GMTs? Is the movement that bad?
@@tonyrome655 I haven't owned one but it seems like they use cheap Chinese movements that are unreliable. Most of their regular auto watches use reliable Seiko or Miyota movements
Yess, difficult to justify. Buy the mainstream brands if you want, but... you know, 4, 5 or 6 times expensier? Thank you for your comment my friend!!
My Invicta Pro Diver is 6 years old and it still works like the first day.
Great video! Excellent photography!! I like it better on the bracelet! The version you show is a real looker!
I just bought this same watch but with the gold band. I love it! It's my first automatic. I hope it lasts a long time.
I hope that too. So if you like this one, try the Pagani Design watches.... you can not believe it. Cheers!
@@trappingthetime thanks for the recommendation. I want the pagani daytona homage. I've only seen positive reviews
It is a watch that i love. I use it almost everyday now. Buy it
I have the 9937ob, swiss sellita sw200-1 auto +3 seconds a day, thinner depth case 12mm, chunkier solid bracelet with milled clasp and solid end links, flame fusion crystal (thin layer of sapphire on top of mineral) and smaller engraving.. $170 on Jomashop.. I love this watch!.
You have the 1953 with no engraving on the case. Hope you enjoy that 9937. I think 170$ for a watch like that is an amazing price.
So you have some mods? I think this brand gives you more than what you pay for.
I now own a pro diver and a steeldive captain willard...for under $200 combined! Amazing watches for the price 👌
Yep, completely agree
Nice for the price point hard to bet I have that same watch, that's what Invicta do at affordable prices. but you hit on all the points THANK YOU.i been a Invicta snob for Many decades ago love the company a grand Diver is a PRO Diver just made bigger lol its true. Love The company INVICTA DO WHAT INVICTA DO love it.
No, thanks to you for your kind comment. Happy that you agree with our review!! Cheers!
❤ my Invicta Pro Divers!!! I own several versions!
We do too! Great watches.
I'm waiting for my 30094 model Invicta divers watch..It's the black and gold one. Can't wait.
100% agree. Cheers mate!
My Seiko 200m 7002 which I purchased back in 1987 is still ticking today. I bet this Invicta could have the same longevity.
Sure!! Thanks for the comment my friend!!
I'd put it on a black seatbelt style nato, functional, it'll suit the watch and you won't get those gaps where the end links go.
Yep I think a Diver has to go with nato or bracelet. Not with that cow strap. Beginners mistakes I made... hehe. Completely agree with you!! Thank you for your comment my friend.
The leather strap looks great! Been thinking of buying one for a while now but def going to do it now. Great vid and earned a subscriber
Cheers mate!!
now I follow you in both languages😉, great idea that will also allow me to remember my rusty English
Thank you my friend 😆😆😆. Wellcome here also, and thank you so much for your support!! 🙌🙌🙌🙌 I train as well my English answering comments. I am André, BTW.
@@trappingthetime Nice to meet you André, it's always a pleasure to watch your videos
Good video I agree I don't like the side engraving either but for the price I can easily forgive it I do like the watch at 47mm which they offer
Great video! I have Orient and Invicta divers. I use leather bands during colder months and nato straps during summer. Subbed.
Love that! Thanks for sharing and welcome to your house 😊
The average person can't afford a Rolex so I wouldn't be ashamed to say "yes it's a replica!"
I have an 8926OB I got a few years ago. I love it, but I will say the bezel on mine did not turn very easily at first. It breaks in with use and it works fine now, so maybe they improved.
What is that timegrapher app?
I own a few nice swiss watches, I also have Seiko's and Citizens. And I own 2 Pro Diver's and found them to be nice looking and robust.
They are, yess!! Maybe not the same quality materials but I can not find the big price difference. Thank you for the coment! Cheers!
I have a 9402(?), really like it for the price. Great entry watch. Great video! I saw a mod video of grinding off the "INVICTA" from the side, and heating the cyclops with a blow dryer and removing it. On the list of things to do.
Just buy a pro diver 1953 and you can put the grinder away!1953s don't have the engraving on the side
Thank you for the comment my friend!! As David Crandall replied this comment... just take a look to the 1953.
Got a prodiver 2299 been ticking along for 11 years. Still -3 a day.
That is awesome!! I maybe would not buy that model, but it is a mechanical watch running 11 years. How many mantenances you made to it?
@@trappingthetime none yet. Probably will just replace the movement when it finally quits. That seems like the cheapest way for such an inexpensive watch.
Got one coming in the mail in a couple days, it'll be my first watch. Figured I couldn't go wrong with the price point lol
Thanks for the reivew. Would you happen to know how this Invicat automatic compares to other automatics (Seiko and/or Rolex, etc.) in terms of accuracy?
You really cant beat it.
They make a 42 mm black pro diver with a selita swiss movement which seems really nice , im thinking about buying one to see if its any better than the seiko NH35 . the NH35 is actually pretty darn reliable and keeps good time .
Great review. I agree that the leather goes very well with the green BUT for a "dive style" watch, I prefer the bracelet overall.
Very good revue. I have some invictas love them all, great watches.
The scalloped bezel pro Diver looks more like an omega than a Rolex
Have you looked at or reviewed the Steeldive range at all? These also utilise the NH35 and NH36 movements and are amazing value for money, including the range of 'Willards'. Well worth a review. (I have no interest in Steeldive by the way!)
We will publish the SteelDive Cap willard on next video I think. It is an awesome wstch for the price. It is just that you dont know when the poor quality control of this brand is gonna hit your SteelDive. Great chinese brand that offers homages with good quality materials and an incredible price. Thanks for the comment. !!
I haven’t got one, but I’ve only heard good things about Invicta pro divers. They look great too. 👍🇬🇧
You should check out the SteelDive SD 1953. It brilliant! It uses the NH35 as well & it's less than a $100!
That watch is icredible! Thank you my friend 👍👍
The green hornet model?
Maybe 😁😁
(But, then again quite a few upscale manufacturers have been known to be dodgey in providing post-sale service. )
I own a pro diver and and grand diver and I enjoy them both!

Its the best watch for that money, I have 2,and they works perfektly.

Comparable watches for the price? Like a few others here, I'd suggest the Steeldive 1970, or something by Pagani (aka Pagrne).
Cheers!!
How about Orient Mako or Kamasu? In comparison
Nothing to do. They have their own designs, and quality-price ratio... a monster. I think Orient is one of my favourite brands and I think Epson is trying to put this brand where Seiko was on the market years ago, great quality wathches at a very good price.
I’ve had many Rolex watches when they were less than now sold them for a big profit and love my invicta divers
They have a new pro diver "master of the seas" that is slightly larger than the normal pro diver, closer to the grand diver size and doesn't have the huge protruding case back.
Let's have a look to that master of the seas!! Thank you for the comment mate!!
Hi there, I really enjoyed your review, one of the best reviewers I have watched, subscribed, hopefully others followed, thankyou
If you don't like the case engraving you can always buy the Model 1953.
Can't wait to have that model.
The watch fits best with a fixoflex wristband...it needs to be long enough ,then it will serve the best comfort in wearing for this heavy clock.
I have to try that kind of band. I have no one in my collection.
