    Have both the Steeldive SD1970 and the Invicta, Steeldive by far. Also with a timegrapher you can regulate that movement once more to +/- 3-6 seconds .

    I have had the Duro, the SD1970 Willard and an Addiesdive Quartz Diver for almost two years now. Most days I wear the Willard, which has a deviation of around 3-5 seconds a day. I've actually dived with it down to 60 feet, leave it on in the sauna, go swimming in the sea, and it's held up nicely.

    Regarding accuracy. The NH-35 movement can be easily regulated with patience and many trial and error hit and misses. Just unscrew the back and move the regulator very slightly left or right depending on whether you want to slow it down or make it go faster. Compare the time with your smart phone time and write down the variance. Next day compare the time again to see if it's going slow or fast. Readjust as necessary. After several tries I managed to get mine to 3 seconds per day which is excellent. Anything under 10 seconds per day is very good for a mechanical watch.

    Great review as always, I have the SD Willard, the Duro, and the 1953 Invicta. They're all special in their own way!

    Steeldive has done a great job following in Seiko's footsteps of delivering value in analog watches. Casio analog is very unappealing to me until they can increase the lume.

      @jsenear Місяць тому

      I agree. It is almost like they believe no one expects lume to be operational on a watch but that is utter bullshit. I use my 1970 and 1953 lumed Steeldives all the time.

    I have about a dozen pro divers and one SD. The former have never let me down while the latter was a great disappointment. I also have the Duro. Aside from the quartz tick, I have zero complaints.

    I have the larger Duro (fish) and an Invicta Grand Diver. Love them both. Was thinking about a Citizen Eco-Drive diver.

    I dropped my 1970 on the bathroom tile from five feet and the same thing happened to me. My Steel Dive was never the same. I bought a 2nd one that arrived today and so far it is keeping perfect time. The quality of the watch is such that I had to have one that was not damaged from dropping again. Both are 1970 blue versions. Good review. I subscribed.

      Most probably your SD1970 just needs a slight adjustment on the regulator on the inside and it will run accurately again. Did it stop working or just wasn't accurate anymore after the dropping?

    • @jsenear
      @jsenear Місяць тому

      @@radiocontrolled9181 Just not accurate anymore. It survived the fall without a problem. I will check that adjustment out. I have a bigger problem with that watch. A lug ping tip broke off in the lug hole and I can't get it out. I even tried drilling it.

    I have the Steeldive and the Casio. I really like the Steeldive but I LOVE THE DURO. I'm not sure why. The Steeldives built quality and specs are far superior compared to the Casio but the Duro has won my heart.

      I have the fish Duro and if I did not need lume that woks I would wear it much more often. I have other friends who love their Duro's but to a person lume means nothing to them. In fact one believes lume does not work on any watch except for a matter of seconds. Of course the only lumed watches he has ever owned are cheap ones. Go figure.

    Basically, I see no any reason to buy a quartz watch from Invicta, all the models are in the shadow of the competitiors. It makes some not very reasonable sense only if you are a big big big fan of the yellow boxes.
    And about prices, I took this "willard" from Ali for $74 with all taxes. And this, 29177, model of Invicta from Amazon with all the taxes takes $136.
    Price difference is almost 2 times.
    Really, THERE IS NO ANY REASON to buy Invicta.
    But Casio Duro is really an original and competitive model in a 35-50$ range.

    I have two of the three. I have the Casio and the Steeldive. For accuracy the win will always go to the Casio as it is Quartz. I have only had the Steeldive for a month two but I really like it and since I only wear it for a day or two in a row and the accuracy has been between 1/2 to seven seconds a day I have to say I prefer it. So I agree.
