Elton John is one of the only artists who quite literally sounds just as good in concert as he does in the studio versions of his music, and he's been consistently doing that for decades. The man is an absolute musical savant of the highest order and I'm so glad that I grew up with the privilege of listening to his music.
I was working as a bartender at a pub called the Red Cow in the summer of love in Ilford Essex England when a guy came in to change the 45s on the jukebox about 2pm One of the tunes was Hey Jude From that time until 2am when the pub closed almost no other tunes were played Everyone young and old sang Hey Jude together It is a fond memory for me all these years later.

Was at this concert sat 2 seats away from Brian May and Anita Dobson. Whether they did it on purpose or not there was a hierarchy all night. Finishing off with McCartney and then the Hey Jude. Magical evening. And the best was Elton have to say despite not being a massive fan. And the Royal Albert Hall delivers amazing acoustics.
