  • You just can’t beat a minivan if you’re looking for maximum space for the dollar - and among minivans, the Dodge Grand Caravan is the world’s most popular.
This Canadian-built family hauler is the vehicle of choice for countless families from coast to coast, and is popular with families, businesses, pet owners, and anyone who appreciates a lot of easy-to-use room.
We’re focusing on the 2011-and-newer Grand Caravan in this guide. Though the model launched for 2008, the 2011 model year saw a major update and overhaul, including the use of a single Pentastar V6 powertrain for all models. This award-winning engine is one of the highest production-volume engines in the world.

It's been suggested not to use flex fuel in the flex fuel Caravans. This has been told to me by many mechanics I know that servicing the transmission once a year is also suggested.

How could they possibly leave out the ticking noise and misfire from the engine bad rocker arms and lifters witch will eventually damage the camshaft and cylinder head failure mainly 2011to 2013. I drive the hell out of these vans I work doing non emergency medical transport they are good vans but be aware of transmission problems as well you can get 300,000 on these if taken care of well

On my 4th Caravan, great overall van. They'll go 250-300k no issues if treated right oil etc. Problem areas- shocks and struts, transmissions. Other than that no issues.

Back around 2013, we considered a Caravan, rented one, and the transmission was very rough shifting...Drove a Sienna, and the difference was quite remarkable. The Grand Caravan was an excellent value at 24K. but the Sienna got our buy.

Great choice POS 2013 Caravan trans went out at 85k miles. The van cost $6-8k & 2013 Sienna cost 11-13k I owned Toyota but needed a cheap van & got a Caravan thinking it’s a great value but never again.

I have a 2014 Grand Caravan, just turned 119,000 miles. This van has been amazing, reliable, trouble-free. My Grand Caravan still has the original brakes. Oil has been changed regularly, using full synthetic, every 9,000 miles. The oil in there now has been in there for 8,000 miles and if you pull out the dipstick the oil looks new. The key to the life of any vehicles is in the maintenance, and how you drive it.

The one I reserved to look at from carmax is 76k miles, but with maxcare you get 4 years or up to 150k miles total warranty. Pretty low risk imo. And I've used their warranty before, you can take your car to the brand dealership for repair. I think its anywhere thats certified but I just used the dealership and ford (for a mustang) would call carmax and get their 💰💰

If it has rear seat air conditioning look out Freon lines to the rear evaporator go bad and cost a fortune to replace.

@@fcex558 hahaha I had to check to make sure I didn’t write this comment. Exactly. I’d get the Chrysler minivans. If he’s getting used I’d get a town and country limited and skip the dodge. Or even get a grand caravan RT.
