Engineering knits is a place for people who enjoy all kinds of vintage and antique crafts - from sewing to knitting, crochet to embroidery I like to try it all. I definitely have a preference for historical fibre crafts, and it is my dream to one day make an entire outfit from sheep to sweater. I hope you enjoy watching me and my favorite companion, Nutella, struggle through some fascinating projects! - Навчання та стиль

What do you think of this cute sweater?
Its gorgeous. I love how the yarn is lustrous too; it reflects the light and shimmers beautifully. You always make beautiful pieces.
This is so cute, and now I want one for myself!
Would you please please link where you found the pattern?
I listen to death metal and hardcore and watch you knit. It's awesome. Everything you do is amazing, and your commitment to what you do is beautiful.
I never understand how anyone knits so fast. I'm still working on a tank top I started during the beginning of summer last year. At least it will be done for summer this year.
@@Stettafire Wow! I never thought of pacing that way. Thanks for your insight.
it´s kung fu,the harder you practise the better you get.
Don't feel bad. I just finished a spring sweater that I started as a group challenge in March 2020. Our group disbanded because of Covid and I just put it away. I finished week before last and wore the sweater on a trip this last weekend. You'll get it done!
I'm right there with you! I'm a slow knitter because I'm prone to overworking my wrists.
When playing yarn chicken on a sweater I always do the sleeves last, because sleeves can be made shorter, or striped, etc.
nutella is my favourite part of these videos. came for the nice background noise, stayed for the sweet baby girl.
I think this is the pattern that my Mum wanted to find. I looked through vintage patterns for years hunting for it. Alas, Mum passed away in 2015 but I'm sure shed have loved your version of it!
I love how at the end of the ribbing section, the transition to the flat colorwork section makes the ends of each rib look like tiny hearts ❤️
I'm played yarn chicken as well and lost. I unraveled a tweed sweater, not enough yarn. I'm using some hand spun merino for contrast which is working well. Thank goodness it's a good colour match with one of the tweed colours!
Oh my goodness, the tangled "bobbins" gave me major anxiety just watching. The finished sweater is so pretty! That red yarn is just scrumptious.
The sweater is a gorgeous color. I love how you made the hearts a touch fuzzy. You look adorable in it
The mohair was such a clever addition to the hearts! I’m gonna steal that idea. I love intarsia knitting; for bobbins, I use the plastic Kumihimo bobbins and it works like a charm.
I came here to say just this! They work like a charm!
I don't know if anyone has suggested this, but maybe making your bobbins using the "butterfly" technique used for weaving! Super handy and keeps everything intact!
Those sleeve caps seem like a very "knitterly" way to do a puff sleeve. In modern patterns might we think of low or no seaming as a "knitterly" design but that designer really did take into account what's easy and hard in hand knitting and different mathematical ways to achieve a fashionable silhouette. Really fun!
As for unrealistic time pressures, I don't usually think about knitting something holiday related until the day of the holiday (maybe a tiny bit earlier for Christmas). LOL So I usually think, well maybe I'll do this for next year.
This sweater looks like my dad's favorite mug
Love the sweater ❤ and the staging. Had a bit of a laugh when you were beautifully there on your blanket and with the book and then drank your drink from a very modern tumbler 😂
Your sweater is so sweet looking, I love it so much. It was also really fun to watch you do the makeup. Congrats on being courageous enough to block your eyebrows, let alone doing it for the first time on camera!
I love the sweater, I think I would love to make this with snowflakes ❄ I'd probably get more wear out of it. I wish I knew how to draft up these 1940's sweaters. I love the clothing from this Era. This was my mom's late teen early college days. I miss her.
I just love how your pup is such a snuggle bug.😍
That shoulder detail is so simple and yet so clever! I am going to stash that idea away for a future project. Love it. The sweater looks so soft and what a gorgeous colour. Well done!!
Adorable sweater, and I love the sleeve cap! I am a new knitter and an older woman, still learning more with every project. Your videos are encouraging and inspiring. I love to see what the younger fiber artists are creating and how they use color. I am ALWAYS a fan of vintage garments.
Wow 😮 this was amazing!! ❤🤍❤️🤍❤️ Love your channel, love your skills, love your doggie 🥰
I am fascinated by your ability to share this passion in such an entertaining way l will never knit anything but still enjoy your projects thanks
The design reminds me of a health bar 🥰
You really got 10/10 😁
Also in terms of general lovelyness
Really enjoyed this, Thank you
I’ve been trying to figure out how to read 40s sweater knitting patterns, I’d love a video on some beginners advice for navigating a vintage knitting pattern! You’re so great at explaining and you have such a sunny disposition!
loooove the results! While watching your debacle with the bobbins I was thinking that it could be useful (and totally nerdy🤣) to count how many stitches every motif has , quite easy in the case of hearts, and using a wrap-kindof-equals 1stitc method, measure the meters needed for each motif. Also, that sleeve is calling my name!😍😍😍😍
your reveal footage is so stunning!!! you look like an ethereal vintage dream 🥰
Very excited for that yarn thickening video! This was such a fun pattern (at least from my perspective as someone who has no idea how to knit or crochet) and I love how it turned out.
Quite pretty! And it DOES look very vintage!
When you showed how the sleeves were joined, I literally gasped. So cool!! 😯
The sweater looks amazing! And that colorwork looked interesting. I couldn't imagine doing an entire sweater like that. I would just end up with a knotted mess of yarn.
that model is named peggy chester! she was an actress and very prolific knitwear model.
I love how this sweater turned out!!! ♥️♥️♥️
I'm obsessed with the shoulder puff structure, I think I am going to sneak it into one of my next knits 😇
Super cute and looks great on you. Congratulations
It turned out super cute! Can't wait to see your raveling adventure too. It looks like nice yarn!
Also adorable to hear Nutella honking her Christmas pig
🥰 I got one for my parents' dogs, but they didn't care about it... so now he is my stress ball pig!
It looks gorgeous on you. I'm so glad you said that you unraveled an old jumper. I've been doing this for years and I'd get the weirdest looks and remarks. Thank you for another awesome episode 😊 xx
So cute! I love the way those sleeves are constructed.
I just took a mouth full of pasta at the same time you did your eyebrows and you made me laugh so much I choked on it haha but you did such a great job on the look. You look like you've been plucked straight out of a magazine 😊
I almost thought I was ready to try intarsia for a moment but then I saw you untangling the yarn afterwards and I think I'll wait a bit longer haha the jumper is beyond amazing though.. the temptation is real! It looks absolutely stunning ☺️
I’m not a super experienced knitter but I promise intarsia isn’t as hard as it seems :)
What a gorgeous pattern, you could change the motif up to be anything. The yarn was stunning.
Ooo yes! Great idea! My brain thinks a green one for St Patrick's day with shamrocks 🍀🍀🍀😀
The yarn you are using looks sooooo soft!
Sweater looks great!
That shade of red looks fantastic on you! Super cute.
The whole look came out really cute!
Wow! Never heard of row gauge…thanks for the great explanation!
Beautiful complete look 💕
BRAVO!!!!! Your sweater is gorgeous and I admire your creativity and technical skills.
This was delightful
tysm for the video
Just so lovely ❤
That sweater is so cute. I absolutely love it.
Your valentine sweater turned out spectacularly. If I were to make one I would have to carve out a lot more time to finish it than you did.
What a lovely sunny day you had. The sweater is stunning
You really captured the look, and the sweater is just gorgeous👏👏
So cute!!!!!! ❤
Absolutely love this sweater! I would love to make it myself!
It's really cute!
so lovely!! ❤❤❤❤
So do the rest of us!
I like the odd way of making the top of the sleeves. Could that way be used to turn a sock heel?
I love your hair!! And yes, of course the sweater too. Lol. Greetings from Belgium
So beautiful!
This is so wonderful thank you 🌷😊
looks really sweet!
Super cute sweater
That is so beautiful
Love the color red that you chose looks good
You looks so nice!
every time i knit my row gauge is off and its SO annoying. I hate it. Mine is usually too tight. Glad to see its not just me who has this problem
Beautiful, but I wanna talk about the blue sweater you are wearing in the intro! 💙💙💙
You look fabulous make up too and the top is lovely great video
Love your jumper, would embroidery floss holders help with your colour work snarls ?
I love this so much! May I ask what are the sizes they have for knitting it?
I can't wait for your yarn upcycle video! Where do you find vintage patterns? I have photos of old knitting magazines from my MIL from the 70s, mostly toys and accessories, and would love to share them ☺ On reddit?
The jumper is so lovely! I’d like to make one for myself-where did you purchase the pattern?
What a cute sweater! Where did you find the pattern? I want to knit it too!
how do you carry your other color across the back? I have had it show up when the piece stretches out (on hats)
Very cute ❣️
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
U pretty!
UGO GIRL! Interesting sleeve top. How cool if u want puff sleeves. Also the shoulder packet is genius. I luv that red color. Give Nutella a kiss while I go for my 1Tb Nutella treat. 😊
Cuddle breaks are part of the pattern!
👍😍🥰
👏👏👏😍🥰❤
Nutella has grinchy toes! I think she is half the reason I watch your videos, and of course the other half is your awesome vintage sweater projects! The internet suggests that one must be under a certain size to make sweaters using vintage patterns, so I'll have to live vicariously through you. :)
...And now I want to create a chart to make those hearts into frilly hearts so they can be stranded colorwork. I really do not like the yarn wrangling associated with instarsia.
without those plastic-nails,your hands are very beautiful 😄
🏳️🌈👍🥰😍
I cannot believe you would not give Nutella your hot chocolate.
Choc is bad for doggos!
Yeah, chocolate is poisonous to dogs...
I want to kiss Nutella’s forehead lol
Beautiful sweater and some good info, but I just can’t handle the dog jumping all over the project, you, in your face, on the desk…. So I must say adieu
