Texas Native Grapes: How They Taste and Grow, and How They Saved the French Wine Industry

Texas wine expert Russ Kane provides an entertaining tour of Texas and discusses native grapes, their growing habits, their role in the settlement of this state, and their contribution to global wine culture by providing root stock that was the solution the problem from Phylloxera in European vineyards in the late 1800s.
The talk was delivered at the Houston Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas on February 16, 2017.
