Hey I only have 1 gasket on the part where you said there should be 2??? Just came from factory please get back to me
Yeah I have the same problem 😕
@@DefineDeftYall talking about the head gasket? I only have one as well
Super informal ! Love it!
i only have 1 gasket, can i still build this motor
Depends if it’s the same engine as this one.
Thank you for making these videos! the instruction link sent with this kit does not have enough information for assembly and your videos helped me out so much!... This has definitely earned satisfaction points with me toward bike berry
I bought BB engine and this is the only video I consulted for my build. Thx!!
Hi everyone at bikeberry hey tony thanks for this awesome video bro I want to thank u guys for what u do and what u guys have done I have just purchased my very first 100cc kit and I can’t wait till it arrives here I will definitely fallow every single instruction on this video to its entirety thanks again can’t wait to ride on my onyx 29” beach cruiser it’s going to be a blast
Getting my stage 4 bbr engine on a beach cruiser also. Cant wait to ride either 😊.
Hey tony just a little tip on the cylinder head. It’s better if you were to tighten it in a x pattern so you won’t warp the head. If you tighten it side by side it also can damage the head gasket and you will loose compression
technically an x pattern is just side by side. on a square head theres no other way to do it, you have to tighten a bolt next to the one you just tightened
Thank you for teaching how to place the motor on the bike
Very well done ole chap (:
Great vídeo well explained continúe & keep these details thath ley us learn more about motorized bikes thanks Mr Say hello Joe & Bros from panamá.
Appreciate you Jorge! Thanks for the encouragement 🙌
Damn nice 👌
Great video! #builditright
Indian head shellac from auto zone ....is what you use on copper head gaskets for nitrous I use it on every V8 I've never had it fail even when over heated to the point of engine seize ...never blew a head gasket. try it you won't be disappointed... mechanic for 43 years it is awesome 👍
Hi Tony on your demo bike you had a longer exhaust, what style of exhaust pipe is that ? Thanks for the great video.
Lol, my phantom 85 kit fit my older Schwinn Frontier like a glove. Still haven't had to use any of those adapter brackets. Not even on my BT80 powered Hyper Commute cruiser. Happy riding everyone!
Did you upgrade to disk brakes I have a vintage frontier original everything.
You're cleverest 😃😃 good luck
Factory gaskets are the best ..like the confirmed thumbs up on your double check... everyone needs that...great video
Thank you James!!
I'm getting one of these tomorrow as my first build, excited but worried how good of a job will I do
What kind of fue mixture can be used? To break in can I use 40:1? Saw a vp brand can for two cycle engines in tractor supply company
Thank you!
Thanks anthony
Much easier than a 4 stroke mounting set up. #builditright
I have a pair of super-slim needlenose pliers which will make putting the wristpin clips in even easier
Hey Tony my bike and stage 4 engine arrives in 2 days, what size socket do I need to buy for putting the engine together and what other tools should I buy to assemble the engine as well as the bike? Thanks bro!
The ridge under the piston is on both sides of 2 piston one is a windowed piston and the other is a stock with no arrow but both have the hump you talked about on both sides of the wrist pin ?
I buy a kit front you guys and only half of the motor come but thanks for the video helps a lot
I just finished a build. I’m glad that you send several retaining clips. I respect that.
How many washers do you put on the high performance cylinder head are you putting one on for each bolt or two you're not being very thorough now I'm at a standstill because I don't know if I put one or two I'm assuming two
Lightly tighten in a circular pattern till all are snug tight add a quarter turn in a criss cross pattern .in the 1980s if we wanted a high compression head we would add 20 /30 pounds of over tork ...worked great made a lot louder though 😊
What's up Tony love to watch the show. You should put a rag around the crankcase so you don't drop anyting in the bottom end. Given you one of my points because I use yours 😜
What should be the height of the piston at tdc to the jug/ cylinder I have a cylinder that the piston is way low in the cylinder like the piston could be higher
Question for ya I got a 100cc gas bicycle motor off of Amazon last year and I just found out tonight that my piston do not go all the way down past the exhaust hole you can see the top ring and it covers up half of the hole what should I do and how would I fix it or can it be fixed
i like the way the seat post bends back so yor knees don't have to bend as much
Wish I would have known that before I got my head on and it never told me that in the how to video. Praying it was right when I got it 👍 🙏
Hi Terry plis help me my bike stuck more often and it take too long to start, what could be the problem
Is there anyway you guys to make a manual clutch for four cycle engine?
Tony what size are the headbolts and studs
So quick question i bought a stage 1 or the bare minimum kit and the carb leaks out of the mouth of the carb, is it just some needed float adjustment, or some other problem?
Hey Try me, that’s a good question for our Facebook group. I put the link above. Go in there and post a short video of the problem you’re having and we’ll help you resolve it.
Mine only came with one of those carton type gasket, will there be a problem?
Hey Tony! Great video! I love those intake and exhaust gaskets! The ones I get are paper-thin. Where do I get them?
Those came on the engine kit. I’ll dig in and see if they have a gasket package and let you know.
@@tonytaylor5087 You da man!
great video .will the two gaskets . rob horse power . compare to one gasket . or there is no different in one or two gaskets . the motor will run the same .
If you run one less gasket your piston could hit the plug or head which would cause catastrophic damage. Sometimes it won’t hit but it’s a 50/50 chance. I wouldn’t trust it though. And sure if you remove one gasket you may get a little power boost but don’t risk it.
Mine came with only one base gasket... is that ok to go ahead like that, with just the one? the washers were on top like shown here. Stage 4, btw.
Mine is the same, I emailed them and they say that 1 gasket is fine
Same, not sure how much it messes with the squish and port timings and all. I bought mine last year and have put some miles on it. Still runs strong, replaced minor things so far.
I could mount an 80 cylinder and piston on a 100 engine because in Romania there are no 100 cylinder and pistons, I want to point out that it fits in holes only that the 100 cc cylinder and piston is 50 mm and the 80 cc has 47mm?
What is that front mounting bracket he is using???!!
I would oil the conrod, wrist pin and wrist pin bearing before installing. Also does BikeBerry install the piston into the cylinder dry? Looks dry.
Hey Ron, nope it wasn’t dry. You could certainly add additional oil to all the parts.
Mine came with only one of the bottom gaskets and an extra set of washers on the cylinder bolts, what should I do?
I have found that the arrow on the piston, more often then less faces the intake side when it comes to any bbr engine...
I stopped paying attention to those tbh. Ring pins towards the intake always!
I’m having huge troubles with putting in the circlips and surprised no one else does. I’m a big guy but it’s almost impossible to press down those clips with my pliers
Small flathead screwdriver & small pliers is what I used and it snapped in place fairly easy…
What if the posts are bent? Can I heat it up bend it back? I don’t wanna break stuff before I begin building.
You mean the stud bolts? If so just take them out and put a couple of nuts on them, put in a vice and bend straight.
I ordered a bbr engine kit I’m excited to build it soon
That’s awesome to know my man! Check out the whole series from the beginning as I go deep on starting from the beginning. Hope this video helped you!
@@tonytaylor5087 yeah I will
i have not put it together but i might tomorrow
do you use loc-tite on the exhaust port nuts?
Nope, I just check those often.
Alright I could give some assistance on my twin stingray my Orange County Chopper replica
I would like to have one of them Motors I live in California I'm having a hard time getting one shipped how can I go about getting one
BikeBerry is located in California so shipping won’t be a problem when ordering from the site.
Can i buy a motor that is already put together ready to start up immediately
Do you have to use that front mounting plate on the Switz Cruz I'm building mine right now and it looks like it would fit without it anyone know better than me 😁
You don’t have to but in most cases the engine sits too low.
6:47 I watched your video on heads years ago? I think it was yours. Anyways, I have that exact head on my bike right now I like it because of heat dissipation, rather than increased power, IDK if it really gives more power, IMO it just makes the engine harder to start. Good for longer rides though.
It would be nice to have that little tidbit of info on the assembly video. Now I have to pull my exhaust and check to see ...
1:00 I only have one gasket on mine
I bought a motor for my bike. The plate is stuck on the motor mount. How do I break the plate free?
Leave both gaskets on? How come mine only came with one?
What would happen if you remove one gasket from cylinder base ? Thx
Mine only came with 1 gasket and when I emailed them they said it was fine, so idk
Mine also only came with one gasket.
i heard that the cast cylinder heads can get hotspots which shortens the engine's life
Unde găsesc obicicleta la fel și cât costa .?
My engine only came with one gaskit on the bottom i called customer service and the girl told me its ok with one gasket??? Is this correct?? Also the rear sprocket did not have the three smaller plates that go on the inside...she told me its been redesigned and the second gasket and the sprocket plates are no longer needed ..first time builder...help please
i would coat the wristpin bearings with some grease BEFORE i put them in
You just slid it right down. Well, I'm not able to do it without.great effort. The bolts are bound, when I get to the piston , it's stopped, stuck. I'm going to add a little WD40.
No torque specs for the head bolts? Aluminum heads are softer. So I'm guessing 14-16lbs each?
I assume you only need the extra cylinder gasket when using the High compression head?
Because I only got 1
@@BayAreaBullies me too. is yours working ok?
@@mileshurst7359 not done building is been raining where I am and hindering my building
I only got one as well.
#builditright
#BUILDITRIGHT/BUILDITBETTER Thanks Tony Taylor
They slip by a lot with the arrow pointed the wrong way and I also use better clips and I don't use those crappy nuts that come with the kit to bolt the head on. I use good washers and nuts
You should also tell them to use 8.8 automotive hardware.
Mine did not have two gaskets What do I do?
👍
Tony how come you don't lubricate everything before you put it in. That did not sound right LOL.
When I was installing the pins for the piston I dropped one in the engine is that a problem I can’t seem to get it out
With the new California law with these motor still be able to be sold
We got two of these for our daughters ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L the same size for age 6 and 9. It works very well for both girls. Gears were very easy for them to learn. Changing gears up takes some hand strength and is a bit hard, but they are learning. They did not come with water bottle holders- we actually got confused and thought the Derailler Guard was the bottle holder!! Regardless of these details, the bikes are fantastic- even our six year old who only just learned to ride bikes caught on within an hour of practice and loves it. Lightweight and easy for them to handle. All the parts are in excellent condition and the bikes are easy to assemble and very well packaged. Great choice for kids!
Gostaria de comprar um motor com você pode ser?
It would also be nice if bike berry made a video were they aren’t using the heavy duty mount. I wanna know where to put my spacers.
Mine only has 1 gasket will that be a problem?
Depends if it’s the same engine as this one.
@@tonytaylor5087 ok I'm gonna put it together and see what happens, thanks dude , happy motoring !
@@arnulfob3454 did it work ok?
@@mileshurst7359 I can happily say it worked great I rode it to work all summer . Only filled the tank 3 times.
@@arnulfob3454 thx. Appreciate the input. Cu
Mine went on without the hideous front adapter plate

Why do you need to ad the u-mount? Looks like it would fit perfectly fine without it.
Hey Nikko! Yeah, I tried mounting just the engine. Without the U-mount it sits too low on the frame hitting the chain guard.
Looks like the clip was backwards. You don't want the wrist pin able to touch the wing. It will push the clip into the engine and cause failure. No grease or oil? 12 ft lbs. for the high COOLING head. Fenders will put you in the hospital.
You should cover the open case of the engine so nothing falls in, like a wrist pin clip, or debris. Never tighten the head that much.
Why isn’t there any videos on the complicated shit
Check out these four motorized and custom OCC Schwinn Stingray choppers. ua-cam.com/video/eKw4jxdTO3c/v-deo.html
you could use 4 wrenches 😅 lol
Oppps comment wasn't meant for this video community chat on BBR TUNNING people????that have these.kits
WTF? I wanted to know how to put the 2 stroke together. this video already shows a completed assemble.
You should really advise people to use loctite. Young builders won't all know that.
Locktite is for dweebs
They don't uphold their warranty.my 800 bike from them frame broke within 8 day's and under warranty they wouldn't make it up
I really wish you had put a torque wrench on it after you claimed that should be 10 or 11 lb because you're full of it do it right don't do it at all
I literally just messed up my whole build thanks to this guy telling me that
Now here I am in the comments tryna find someone else who made the same mistake so I can figure out how to fix it
How do I change my tht ugly looking name /email on my profile?.?.
Video is 2years old!? Anything new, video wise? My stage 4 kit BBR TUNNING does not look like that one in video is all smooth same color tone,I didn't even get a plate for mounting was I suppose to with this kit.?.?
I have a problem trying to start my bike after installing my Windowed Pistion/Barrel/Reed valve/OKO carb i got to find out the Window on my piston was cut out on the wrong side. The window is the same side (exhaust) as the arrow. IF i turn it around the ring pins are on the exhaust side, which is wrong and can get damaged on the exhaust port in the sleeve. So ... BB decides to send me this video starting at the 5:00 minute mark. COME ON!!!!
Ha wow, that's lazy and messed up.
Found out that the "barrel" timing in the reed valve "KIT" was totally off. I switch out one thing at a time until i had only the barrel left. The barrel was the problem. So basically i put everything back the way it was and it runs. Beware of those "reed valve barrel kits".
