    It's really wonderful that there's been such a shift towards realising things like this. We're not defined by our past, our the past of our ancestors. The more we acknowledge this and actively break those cycles the more we can healing we can create!

    My Grandmother also had bizarre negative sayings like that. I think it's a generational thing that hopefully will reverse itself in time.

    Found this in a group I'm a part of and I think now more than ever, that we are in a position to do more than we ever have and getting rid of self-narratives seems like a good way to shed unnecessary conditioning.

    Hearing this, I got to thinking if this is our next stage of evolution? Not a physical adaptation to our environment, but an emotional and psychological one. Each generation grows and learns and shifts. This talk really highlights that we as humans have so much capacity for growth and we can tend the soil for future generation’s growth in our present.

    I think a lot of people sort of cling to the bad things that happen to them because it's easier to stay in that victim mindset and use it as an excuse to not do the hard work and evolve as a person.
