This is great. Just this morning my wife and I were discussing taking the bullet train from Tokyo to Osaka on our next trip to Tokyo Disney, and your video just popped up.
I highly recommend visiting Hokkaido on a future Japan trip! The ice cream and milk is the best I’ve ever had! The cows must be extra happy since the dairy is so rich and flavorful. Thanks for another great video!
@@OrdinaryAdventures seriously, I’d visit Hokkaido just for the milk soft cream! It’s also less touristy than Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto, so it makes for a different travel experience.
I'm so glad you found a place to try both kinds of okonomiyaki and loved it!! OA Galaxy and well deserved. Hiroshima-style okonomiyake was possibly the greatest thing I've ever eaten in my life and I still dream about it. And honestly I feel the same about the texture of the octopus balls. You guys thrive in Japan, love these videos!
When we stayed in Osaka in 2023, we had an Airbnb directly next to that Ferris Wheel but we didn't get to ride it because it was closed. This was such a fun video, thanks for sharing. Fun fact, Okonomiyaki is pretty healthy and wonderful for gut health seeing its all cabbage, veggies and eggs (depending how you get it)

I love the vibes in Osaka, went early last year and when I was in dotonburi there was a group of musicians playing, with a saxophone, just good vibes all round.
I am so happy you guys started traveling internationally. In this video you can really tell that you are starting to get comfortable in Japan. You should make Japan your home base while the exchange rate is so good.
When I was living in Tokyo in the 90's, we used to have sweet potato vans with wood fired ovens driving around the neighborhood selling yaki-imo, which is cooked sweet potatoes. They would be announcing their wares over a loud speaker, with a stylized "yaaaakiii iiimooou" song-like announcement. It was so cool. I mentioned to my colleagues that after my current job, I would try my hand at being a yaki-imo salesman.
I love that you got to experience Osaka. The culture there is quite different from Tokyo. You may have noticed people talking aloud more on trains, the people are more outgoing, and even the language (dialect) is different. At 21:23 when you got off the wheel, you can see a character saying Thank You (ohkeenee) in Osaka dialect. Great video!!

Lol. I just wanna go on a trip with you. Good fortune and health to you in this new year and beyond. ❤❤❤

Thanks so much. I will say that we are kinda picky eaters too but this channel has forced us to go outside of our comfort zone and are are surprised at how much you might like if you try it. Atleast that’s been our experience
We ate at Ajinoya Okonomiyaki in October, so cool to see you enjoy it too! If anyone goes based on your recommendation, they actually take online reservations if you plan in advance! It’s a bit awkward, you just walk through the line on the left but totally worth it! The yakisoba dishes were just as good as the Okonomiyaki, this restaurant was one of the best meals we had in Japan!
Those Gyoza looked so incredible, thankfully I can find things similar in china town here in Vegas. I know it cant compare to actual Japan street food, but we have some great restaurants here. I feel like Japan is becoming OAs second home. I love watching all your videos, especially when you both are in Japan. I'm always curious to see how people who don't know Japanese, or fluent Japanese, order food and all that kind of stuff. It'd be interesting if you left in a couple of clips on how you guys order food, check into a hotel, etc :)
It’s hard to do that because we don’t typically film other people but honestly in big cities like this it isn’t hard, you either just say what you want and that enough is understandable or you point to it on the menu.
It's all part of the adventure! To be honest we probably wouldn’t have the guts to try half of it normally but the channel pushes us out of our comfort zone and we’ve actually learned that’s a good thing
We got some Takoyaki in Osaka and I couldn't get myself to eat even one. The smell and texture were just a little too much for me. The funny thing is that we used Google translate to know what's on them, and it said "with the scent of Dan", which is now a running gag in our family. 😂
I went to Japan for the first time in November and absolutely fell in love with Osaka when I was there. Im actually trying to convince a buddy of mine getting married next year to do his bachelor party there 🤣
Love your videos as always! I used to take pictures of the manhole covers whenever we went somewhere new in Japan. Some of them are really cool. They also have Pokémon ones in different regions!
It is interesting about Michelin tires making the Michelin star to rate food. I love the back stories to things like that. It started as simple as getting people on the road out for adventure. It started in 1900 when there was only 3000 cars and to promote people to get cars and see stuff the Michelin guide was created. Hotels and service stations were in the first guides and food was added to them in the 1920s. It is like how Guinness world records is tied to the beer company. We love those unusual connections.
I loved this Osaka vlog and I'm looking forward to your Nara video! Also next time you are in Japan you must try Hokkaido Milk Soft Serve, it is the best in Hokkaido but you can also find it in Tokyo (a couple of shops in Tokyo Skytree sell it). Trust me, it's life changing!!!
I really appreciate this honest video. I am looking forward to visiting Tokyo and other areas of Japan sooner as a solo traveler. Gonna have to sign up woth a tutor for conversational lessons. I loom to connect to with people .
Woo Hoo....Osaka, baby! I love their food in Dotonbori so much. I could spend a whole year eating there. Takoyaki and Okonomiyaki FTW! I also found Uncle Rikuru's cheesecake to be less sweet than I had expected. The raisins on the bottom saved it for me though. I'm shocked there wasn't any snow on Mt Fuji though. We've seen it with at least some dusting on it even in the spring. Oh, and I wish the Don Quijote Ferris wheel had swinging cabins like the one at DCA. That'd make it a thrilling experience, lol
My Godfathers son has lived in Japan for several decades, if you're around Disney or other attractions he's known for Cpt Jack from Pirates of the Caribbean.
@@OrdinaryAdventures hey guys this is ray just checking to see you guys and your pets and your friends are all ok down California and I'm praying for your safety
The sake kit-kats definitely taste like the drink, and the strawberry cheesecake ones in the Mt. Fuji box are good too. I kept the boxes from my trip there in 2019.
Looks like Osaka was a lot of fun. It's on the list for the next trip to Japan. All the food looks so amazing and oishii! Takoyaki is one if my favorites bur the okonomiyaki looks awesome.
Got to the part where you attended the sweet potato festival, and there is a lot of nostalgia with sweet potatoes. I don’t know if they still exist now, but back in the day, there were carts and trucks that would go around neighborhoods in Japan during the winter just selling roasted sweet potatoes. The carts and trucks were built in a way where the sweet potatoes would roast while they were being carted around. They would advertise that they were in the neighborhood on a loudspeaker.
I had a co-worker come back from Japan and she brought us a bunch of the flavored KitKats. There was one that was Saki flavored and it was just....no. Lolll She had such a great time and couldn't get over how CLEAN everything was too.
Aww you guys should try that “angry guy” spot next time! Osaka is also known for kushikatsu which are fried skewered meat and vegetables! Nothing scary about that 😅
I missed the stream, so I'm gonna do it on the first video of this year: Happy New Year Kitra and Peter! 🎉😊✌🏻✨ I'm wishing you all the best for 2025. Lots of health and many more fun adventures 💚
What a wonderful adventure! Thank you both so much for sharing them with us!!! I give this adventure an 🌟Ordinary Adventure Galxy!!! 🌟I was wondering how authentic is Japan at Epcot, to the real Japan?? Just curious...thanks so much!!!❤🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟❤
Ha well it captures the architecture and the store there has a good sample of a lot of things you can buy there but the food is no where close to what it’s like in Japan and I feel like the pavilion is not big enough to capture the vibe and atmosphere
Kitra, riding that oval ferris wheel you reminded me of myself. "I'm good, it's okay"...then just being like, "this is REALLY high"!!! Well I practically cried on the wheel at DCA and we had another couple in with us. I hate those things but you kept it together very well. Any other ride is ok but a ferris wheel.....
Actually you can reserve seats in the ordinary cars on the shinkansen. Its best to reserve during a busy Japan holiday such as New Years or Golden Week when Japan does a lot of domestic travel to visit family. But during the slow seasons, its not necessary. Also it depends where your trip is starting from. If you line up early enough at Tokyo or Shinagawa station and heading towards Shin Osaka station, you'll get a seat. But if you are boarding somewhere in between, you might not as more people board along the way. I love seeing you guys travel abroad!!! 😊
Japan is so beautiful can’t wait to go one day even tho I’m not a city guy but those Nintendo stores will bring me in to spend an insane amount of money! Mostly on yoshi merch!

I went to Japan for the first time in November and absolutely fell in love with Osaka when I was there. Im actually trying to convince a buddy of mine getting married next year to do his bachelor party there 🤣
That would be fun
Will be possibly going here for my honeymoon in two years after my wedding! Thanks for this great content!
That’s awesome

We're here for you! Stay safe
@ thank u both so much ❤️❤️ I’m trying, I hope my food doesn’t spoil. I can’t replace it 😢
Love your videos as always! I used to take pictures of the manhole covers whenever we went somewhere new in Japan. Some of them are really cool. They also have Pokémon ones in different regions!
Woah Pokémon ones? That’s cool
They even have gundam manhole covers
I didn't want this to end!❤
🙌
It is interesting about Michelin tires making the Michelin star to rate food. I love the back stories to things like that. It started as simple as getting people on the road out for adventure. It started in 1900 when there was only 3000 cars and to promote people to get cars and see stuff the Michelin guide was created. Hotels and service stations were in the first guides and food was added to them in the 1920s. It is like how Guinness world records is tied to the beer company. We love those unusual connections.
So interesting
I loved this Osaka vlog and I'm looking forward to your Nara video! Also next time you are in Japan you must try Hokkaido Milk Soft Serve, it is the best in Hokkaido but you can also find it in Tokyo (a couple of shops in Tokyo Skytree sell it). Trust me, it's life changing!!!
Thanks, Nara is coming soon!
"Why don't you call me that anymore?" PETER OMG DONT LET THE NICKNAME DIE
😝
This is the best vid, I can't wait for my japan adventure
I hope you have the best time

I watch your videos when I'm sick. They make me feel better.
Awww feel better soon
@@OrdinaryAdventures well you responded to my comment so now I have to :D
I really appreciate this honest video. I am looking forward to visiting Tokyo and other areas of Japan sooner as a solo traveler. Gonna have to sign up woth a tutor for conversational lessons. I loom to connect to with people .
👍
Haha that would be scary
I heard that this year was the latest year yet for snow to finally settle on Mt.Fuji. Climate change sucks.
Great video! Loved the amazing foods
Thank you! I hope you guys get to try some of that food someday!
My Godfathers son has lived in Japan for several decades, if you're around Disney or other attractions he's known for Cpt Jack from Pirates of the Caribbean.
Very cool
Great video, you're encouraging my wife and I to take our honeymoon trip to Japan!
Go for it! You’ll have a blast
You guys seem like Japan pros now that it is your second time. You know all the tricks and great places to eat.
Ha it’s all about the research
Good afternoon guys hope you guys had a nice weekend and I'm excited to see your videos today :)

We should’ve tried em
Hi Guys, another great video! Is there any way you could mention Vegetarian options when you try your food? It would be really helpful. Thank you 😀
We try to point it out when we try vegetarian options
Thank you so much guy so fun ❤❤❤❤
You’re welcome! Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Looks like Osaka was a lot of fun. It's on the list for the next trip to Japan. All the food looks so amazing and oishii! Takoyaki is one if my favorites bur the okonomiyaki looks awesome.
You should def try the okonomiyaki!
Okonomiyaki is by far my favorite quick little snack that I make at home
Great idea
Got to the part where you attended the sweet potato festival, and there is a lot of nostalgia with sweet potatoes. I don’t know if they still exist now, but back in the day, there were carts and trucks that would go around neighborhoods in Japan during the winter just selling roasted sweet potatoes. The carts and trucks were built in a way where the sweet potatoes would roast while they were being carted around. They would advertise that they were in the neighborhood on a loudspeaker.
That’s awesome
When I go to back porch drafthouse i get sweet potato waffle fries
Made my palms sweaty just watching you guys on that Ferris wheel 😅
Haha it wasn’t that scary just a little
the don quixote ferris wheel is soooo cool!!!
💯
YES!🎉😊THAT’S WHERE I’VE BEEN RECENTLY IN JAPAN!!
👏
I had a co-worker come back from Japan and she brought us a bunch of the flavored KitKats. There was one that was Saki flavored and it was just....no. Lolll She had such a great time and couldn't get over how CLEAN everything was too.
Haha it doesn’t sound like a good flavor to me
I’m so excited for April 2025! Will we get to see you guys at Star Wars celebration? If so I’ll see you there!
We are hoping to be there

Aww you guys should try that “angry guy” spot next time! Osaka is also known for kushikatsu which are fried skewered meat and vegetables! Nothing scary about that 😅
Next time
Great video ❤🎉 All the food looks amazing!
Thank you 😋
I missed the stream, so I'm gonna do it on the first video of this year: Happy New Year Kitra and Peter! 🎉😊✌🏻✨ I'm wishing you all the best for 2025. Lots of health and many more fun adventures 💚
Happy new year!!!
@@OrdinaryAdventures thank you 😊
Osaka Castle looked lovely 🥰
It was so beautiful
Haha same
Actually you can reserve seats in the ordinary cars on the shinkansen. 😊
Oh good to know.
You two are inspirational.
🥰
osaka is all food even for locals. not really made only for tourist but it's always a fun place
We loved all the food there
This is so amazing! Love the video! 🎉
Thank you so much!!
Love the vlog! Osaka (and Kansai in general) is the best. Also, I went to the Expo in Nagoya in 2005 and it was great. Definitely go if you can!
We’ll have to look into Kansai
Japan is so beautiful can’t wait to go one day even tho I’m not a city guy but those Nintendo stores will bring me in to spend an insane amount of money! Mostly on yoshi merch!
Even if you don’t like cities Japan might change your mind haha
@@OrdinaryAdventures ill defiantly check out the city's but nature is why i love to travel
