Hey quick question. I'm thinking of buying the k552 RGB version but how do I know if it's hot swappable? Someone said in my country it ain't swappable is that possible or its just a lie?
I found a brand new per-key RGB version of the K552 sitting in a "treasure hunt" amazon returns type place and grabbed it for 10 bucks. It's been super fun modding it thanks to your videos. Keep it up!

From watching your video on modding the the K552, I picked up a white one for my daughter. Swapped the key caps for some inexpensive milk and honey caps. Only problem was it came with blue clicky switches, so I switched them for the Akko switches like what you had and the keyboard sounds so good now! Thanks for doing all these vids on a budget widely available keyboard.
I bought one a few months ago for $20 cause it was on sale. honestly one of the best $20 ive spent ever. A way bigger upgrade then to the membrane keyboard I had. There obviously are going to be some shortcomings cause of its low price point but durability is not one of them. I'd venture to say that it's more durable then the $90 keyboard that I bought recently. It`s a great budget mech keyboard for anyone starting out in the hobby. especially for me. Its not perfect and it never will be but it gave me the oppurtunity to learn how to mod a keyboard without risking something expensive. Overall one of the best bang for your buck.

Hey! I’m just here with a question… nothing keyboard related, just about a monitor I am getting for my birthday. I’m not really a FPS and a high performance gamer, do you think the Acer K232 is good for its price?
well, here is my take on both of them as I own both these boards. K552 used to be the best. Don't get me wrong. It is unusable stock because of the ping sound and hollowness. And you definitely need to tune those stabs. That's what you get whether you get the $30 or $40 version. But after some tweaks, it is something different. However, the stock value you get from Phantom 87 is incomparable. Phantom 87 did went through some fixes from the company. The Phantoms Tecware used to make back in 2019 is way different than what they make now. The present Phantom is way better. They did take on the feedbacks and worked on them well. You basically have to do nothing after purchasing Phantom, just plug and play. But after modding this board, it becomes something completely different. A mod K552 doesn't come any close to a mod Phantom 87. Don't take my words for it, you can find many videos here. Personally, I felt that a mod Phantom 87 is way better than K552. So, even though both are at a similar price range, I'd put Phantom 87 ahead. Again, this is my experience.
Can you review the akko silent keycaps? They're 60 bucks but i dont now if they are worth it. I want to make my first costum keyboard with the lk 67 keyboard kit.
They are worth it in my opinion. Maybe they are not in the same league as GMK or SP quality but still better than those "clone" keycaps found on Taobao.
I just recently got the k552 as my first board and a basic mod. I put felt in the case and taped the board. I did not lube and switches and left the stabs stock. My question is with Akko jelly blue switches the keys with stabs do not come back up but with the switches it came with they do. Is there something I can do to use the Akko switches? The sound is completely different and bothers me lol
