- A cheap keyboard can turn into something AMAZING with just a few mods, and we'll show you how to do it too. While there is a few hiccups along the way, the finished product is worth it.
The $35 price tag is at the time that we purchased the keyboard and may not be accurate.

2. Drill hole for USB-C port, file plastic down for a hole that fits port.
3. Drill two holes below breakout and tap with M3 size.
4. On breakout board, use one M3 screw and one nut to secure it to the case.

It's nice to see someone consider those without deep pockets and show what you can achieve on a low budget (I know the key caps cost more than the keyboard itself but cheap aftermarket key caps could be used instead for a still noticeable improvement). This will surely inspire many to give it a go.
I watched the K552 review, immediately followed by this one and you earned a subscribe from me.

My friend has this keyboard and Gazzew switches totally revives it, outemu slots have plenty of different choices now, not to the extent of Cherry 3 pin or Kailh wider 2 pin but you can get premium feeling things without worry.

I have a K552 brown-switch as my first mechanical, and as much as I doubt that I would commit to a mod with soldering, this will be a great reference whenever I want to open my keyboard for a thorough clean or something. Enjoyable presentation and vibe too!

damnnnnnnnn that is actually the most impressive keyboard transformation i've ever seen
Thanks dude
its also more expensive to upgrade it then the keyboard itself
@@marvn9398 yeah but it sounds better than most 100-150 dollar keyboards anyways so very worth it
@@marvn9398 The k552 has a pretty stable frame which was the only lasting thing, and that's really all that matters. The actually upgraded product is worth more than higher priced manufactured keyboards.

Wow, thank you!
Great Job! I had this same keyboard as my "re-introduction" to mechanical keyboards since the late 80's-early 90's
Bravo intro, your excitement to mod the keyboard flooded my screen. love it
*the feeling when you have that EXACT same keyboard*
I'm loving the energy you're putting into your videos recently. Makes the videos much more enjoyable and engaging
Happy to hear that!
At this point Its more of a Bluedragon keyboard lol
The final product sounds so creamy and soft, damn, that's literally my dream keyboard.
OMG, the eraser worked.
Now, i just need to find that eraser which i have not touch since highschool.
I just had a random one laying around
any eraser works as it's a rather poor pad printed logo.
Then there's the tough ones which even acetone can't remove
Haha the manual sensor-ing of the cat butt killed me.
Was looking at the GMMK Pro, but you make this $35 keyboard look top-tier! Well done!
Looks so amazzziingggg betty , amazing job , if I were to guess , I wouldnt have guessed its a redragon keyboard lol.....12 /10 industry grade mod 👏
Thank you!
For any cables that u want to strip (unless its too thicc) you can actually use scissors. Slowly cut the cover (slow and repeated cut is better than 1 cut), and then rotate and do the same thing on the still-intact cover side. Once remaining cover is thin enough you can just spin and pull the cover slowly with your hand (plus it spirals the copper wires so its harder to become messy)
The fact that it sounds that good is just awesome
You are so likable and your enthusiasm makes me want to root for you and your Chanel!!
thank you!

When u can just switch to the other keyboard instead of breaking it all down and put it back together in another keyboard which actually just became this keyboard.

Dammmmmmmmmmmmmn didn't expect that end result. It's SO GOOD!
Time to take this to the next level and downgrade a Keycult instead.
Lololol I can't even afford a keycult
The keyboard you’re tearing apart is the one I clicked on this video with
Sounds insanely smooth and good job modding the keyboard
Finally, a video for someone like me who only has 50 bucks budget for a mechanical keyboard. This is very entertaining, I learned a lot, also the end result is wow. Would love more transformation videos like this haha

Thank you so much! I appreciate that.
I really love how you show personality in your videos lately. The energy is way different compared to like, maybe 5 months ago. It's honestly so cute and entertaining!
The board actually turned out really good, If I didn't know otherwise I would have thought it was a custom.
I just started watching and love your videos! Have you ever made a mod a keyboard content but with the best / most popular budget choices (best budget switches & keycaps and using a budget mod-able keyboard for example) ? I'm curious!
I love your humor and your quiet yell is so funny thank you for these amazing video
Glad you like them!
Seeing you grow feels so good man. Take love and wishing you success up ahead in your future.
last week the red switched ver was $25, which i rushed and bought. since these are my first experience w/ linear switches i can't say much about them other than smooth! however there's definitely some spring ping. i like the recessed chassis. i don't like the fixed rgb colors.
i plan to do some of the mods in this video, but i'm gonna throw in the glorious pandas from my old keyboard (in a somewhat hacky way).
Wow! Now I want to buy this keyboard just for doing this diy thing! Thanks a lot
Omg! I love this content. Now I’m thinking of doing this someday with my old $20 keyboard, probably when I get bored. 😂

Awesome! Love the two tone paint job, came out super nice!
Thanks a bunch!
Love what u did with this and the 80's beats rock
I was mid erasing and decided to cheat with nail polish remover (already aware it does not go well with plastic). I did it so none of you have to: it slightly damaged the plastic, although it did remove the remaining paint. I did it with a very light remover, rubbing very gently bc I knew it could go bad, and still the plastic got a little rougher. Just keep erasing until it vanishes. (Sorry, guy who designed the logo.)
That’s lit! 🔥

I found your channel while troubleshooting my Logitech M570 trackball mouse. Decided to retire the trackball and bought a Redragon K552 keyboard/mouse combo. And now have a new hobby of mechanical keyboard mods. Woohoo 🙌

Oh my god. Blue and cyan matched so well together and the yellow as well! This would probably sell for 50$ now. You made it so clean and satisfying. Keep it up
Sell for $50 but how much did it cost to upgrade?
Keycaps alone are almost worth more than this..
i love how i just clicked on this not knowing that that keyboard is the exact red dragon key board im using know lol

Now, it has stopped being a budget $35 mechanical keyboard. All that drilling and painting added value to that keyboard.
