wait.. one of you fukkers has an ATP ticket?? Looks like typical flight test foam bullshit.. i feel bad for the "BOOMERS" you guys bother at the field with nonsense like this..
@@Wings_of_foam When a word is in quotation marks, it usually indicates that it's meant in a mocking or sarcastic way. Hence, the author is poking fun of the 14 year old kid you're referring to.
As a Flite Test employee I love seeing the effort put forth from you guys. Awesome work and Don't give up. Just remember failure is fun, looks like you guys had alot of fun together and that's what is important.
😂🙃 Boomer here and this is way too funny! I wish we had guys like this at our local fields. The lack of this kind of crazy and fun stuff, on top of not really being very kid friendly, is one big reason why I long ago left the local fields. Life's too short to not have fun and most kids know how to have fun!
Putting the motors on the front of the wings would benefit the lift by providing airflow over the wing at low speed. The tail could almost be a single metal boom to reduce tail weight. But yeah the undercarriage needs sorting
AMAZING! Thank you for your efforts both on pushing the limits of sketchy rc aircraft as well as for making/sharing fun content! I know first hand how much commitment it takes - bravo!!
Thanks, Alex! There’s so much more you can do with many different airplanes - including builds - without necessarily needing to fly a plane one set way or feeling the need to build something giant using only fancy build equipment. We want to make the hobby fun and attainable for everyone without feeling artificial fences in the way. Fly outside the box! 📦✈️
😂 Oh we knew it wouldn’t by the time we realized where it was headed with the materials we had to finish it but we had a blast working on it. Stay tuned for V2! 😁
This is what effort without knowledge produces . Take the time and effort to learn something about what you intend to do . Aviation is not some stupid video game . Success can only be found with knowledge .
That's what's great about RC. It is a much simpler and more fun form of aviation that doesn't require an aero engineering degree to make things with. You don't need to take it as seriously as full scale - and for that reason it allows you to learn through trial and error. We were well aware the plane was going to be underpowered, but it was a fun project that we'll never forget full of awesome fun memories. Happy landings! -Zach
I'm a newbie when it comes to RC planes, but yesterday I got a silly thought and you are allowed to laugh hehe. What if you made the main wing move up and down as one big rudder? I would love to see someone making this, but maybe the airflow is going to be interrupted? Is anyone up for the challenge?
This is the BEST EXAMPLE of how kids today approach a complicated task. They simply give up and want to go home as demonstrated by the one on camera. In my day, if it didn't work, we simply worked harder to MAKE IT WORK. But I guess it's easier to give up and let the government take care of you. WHAAAAAAAAA. Don't cry. Just Do it.
Just from observing the built. In making the wings. Perhaps they could've made some very calculated valley cuts on the foam side with the hot gun. To create some valleys for the bends. Creating nice and clean lines for the foils.
foam is not the most light. must use plastic straws to make the wings in a hollow frame and thin plastic to cover the wings. the body could also be made of plastic straw bit must use reinforcements here and there if you want it to carry a load.
Nice try guys! Some advice from someone who learned the hard way... Center of gravity is everything. The most flyable plane in the world will still stall and crash if it's not balanced, and no amount of anything else is going to fix that. I've seen your other videos and I'm pretty sure that deep down inside you already know this :^) After that, I've seen the heaviest contraptions imaginable fly with enough airspeed. (My guess with this thing would be 20+ mph) Thumbs-up for effort and another for entertainment !
Hey guys I’m from maine! Seeing something cool like this so local is pretty dope! Would love to meet with you guys sometime and maybe offer a little of my nearly nonexistent expertise😂 I’m currently working at Pratt and Whitney in north berwick and I have some engineering experience from high school robotics. @@TailHeavyProductions I was joking. You guys looked like you had a great time. I’m jealous. I’ve never had a bunch of friends that would get together and do a project like that.
I love "proof of concept" type videos. The wheels gotta go, LOL. Seems a tad underpowered as well. BUT HEY...seems everyone had a fun time anyway. And, isn't fun what it's about ? Win or lose... it's about the good times....
Some hot glue PVC a few pieces of wood and bam you got your self a full scale flyable ultralight electric aircraft. Look at Peter stripole he built a ultra light out of foam and balsa wood and electric full size ultra light using over sized rc plane electronics
Everybody underpowers their stuff, even regular planes I always upcell and even replace the motor. Granted a proper power plant for this with batteries is probably going to be over 600 dollars.

Just curious, would you have loved seeing the effort put forth by these guys less if you weren't a flite test employee?
love flight test
This video makes Peter Sripol's sketchy AF contraptions look like sound engineering masterpieces by comparison.

Two left wings 🤣 Can't tell you how many times I've made that mistake. Amazing vid!
LOL. Thanks, James! 😁
I love your antics. Wish I could meet some people that would be into these types of shenanigans
someone should make an rc mig-23 because it would be really cool to see its wings fold back and its massive engine that you could put in the back

Big respect for being so creative and not relying on Cad software. Great video G!

My anxiety when the smash it at the end 👁👄👁
This is what people say not to do, ♥️❤️
Unreal guys!! haha thankyou all for keeping it fun!!! from an Aussie in China!
Almost! The missing ingredient was a golf cart launch ☹️
Nothing ventured, nothing gained. What goes up, must come down. Nice job.
skipped through the video to watch the inevitable end.

SO Close!!!
Gustov Whitehead would be proud! Good job! It did actually get off the ground.
The wright brothers had a couple of wongs as well 😀
Great story! 😊
i want friends like you guys have
We need to get these fellas an Air Force contract
Hilarious start...we have been watching Breaking Bad for the first time. Looking forward to round two...
Love it, keep it coming!!!!. Can't wait for u to build a plane to fly in. Perhaps a manned ground effect vehicle
Wowwe, that looked like a pain to build but sure looked fun to do
So heavy !!!
🏋
Oh my god!! love it
I would've used kite material for wings , and fuselage
Thank you! I loved it I wish I could do one like that, looks like power is the limiting factor in the over all build.
What an amazing project! 🎉
Maybe u can try balsa/ply wood for structural and vinyl covering for less weight than the foam
That is literally how they build real ww1 planes
How do u only have 3k subs this video was so well put together
That was great fun to watch! I hope you guys get such plane flying!!! Keep it up!!! 💪🏼🔥
Nice. An unusual video in that I found the last 30 seconds most exciting.
Un lamentable desperdicio de materiales...😪cómo quisiera poder conseguir ese foam acá en Perú☹
Looking forward to seeing the second attempt to build this monstrosity!

Thanks for making the video! I'm sure you all learned a lot. Maybe next time, launch from a hill?
Thanks! There's an idea! 😁
Well done, this video will do well!
Design, then build, fun to watch, though!
Awesome effort guys!!! Looked like great fun all the way. Thanks and I can't wait for the next project.
as we know it, this hobby is 70% building, 5% flying and 25% crashing, still love it tho

Delightfully janky. Those wheel hubs are straight out of The Flintstones!
So incredibly underpowered

1k dollars and a bunch of foam and bass wood and balsa wood and electronics and boom instant full size ultra light plane you can fly in if wanted

Lol. I love it. Learned a ton though didn’t they
Pablo Escobar would be so proud of you guys fpv long range accross the boarder mule rc planes lol
Well... it "sounded" like an airplane and kinda looked like one so... winning!!!
Ok so I’m not a part of the flying RC hobby but this could be revisited with copious amounts of 2 stroke power and with enough thrust anything can fly
Nice try guys!

Thanks! The CG was fine - just slightly aft which is how we prefer all our airplanes. All she needed was more thrust. 👍
I love watching your videos man keep them coming and iam really excited for the proper rebuild of this plane😍😍
The proportioning of the wing to fuselage combined with lack of power to weight ratio, it never had a chance.
Indeed
Loved it!
This is amazing
Great work.. just mind you don't fly it into a skyscraper.
Next time build a carbon fiber framework and apply 1/4" foam over it. It will be light enough and strong enough to do the job.
