i may or may not have a bomb drop and drogue chute reversed at one stage and if you ask me why my foam high wing needed a drogue chute its because it fit and a had an exrta channel
As an FPV freestyle pilot, At first I thought "Eh kinda relateable" And when you said rolls away on Onewheel I litterly laughed do hard I couldent breath for A sec. Thank you Zach.
6:30 my only defence here is that foam and hotglue is cheap enough for me to be willing to put tons of hours in rather than spending 1K on a factory made airliner. prop planes are like 60 bucks, airliners are atleast 600 and usually 5x bigger (Im building a 717 for those wondering)
There's at least eight sub-types within the glider community: Old timers, slope racers, self-launching motorsailers, giant-scalers, the competition thermal duration pilots, DLG discus launchers... raw 2-channel beginners... And we all kid about each other as well, but it's good-natured because you have to stay unified against all the gas-powered thugs that don't want you there at the field... We are nice to just one gas-powered guy, the tow plane operator.
I didn't expect the John Woodfield clip, his x-wing canard is a very unique design. His channel got me into balsa and I've really enjoyed building with it. Also, I am the ELRS guy. Some great PWM ELRS RXs under 2 grams for the Willy Nillies kits, and for less than $15.
I have a Radiomaster tx16s transmitter, Timber X, Apprentice Mini, and various scratch built foamies, one of which is a flite test design. I'm not sure what that all means, put together. Edit: oh and a dji mavic mini that I only use for finding other people's lost planes if I fly it at a club field.
@@airhammer6203 It wasnt. I just bought the 1700mm. Happy birthday to me. Subtract 3d, extra, pattern, and quad/rotary and i am all of the rest of these guys. 35 years of enjoying the hobby.
I would like to see you guys push a Tundra in the same way you push other bush planes to see if it’s equally capable, if hobbyking manages to have one and shipping costs less than $299
I personally like my Tundra but I bought if 4 years ago when $169 got you free shipping and they still had someone answering the customer service emails for when it got roughed up in the mail. While some of the HK offerings since then have looked enticing I can’t bring myself to buy something where I’ll pay twice it’s cost in shipping and exactly 0.0% spare parts were actually produced to support it.
Dude I love my tundra! It's still one of my favorite aircraft. It's actually currently on my plane stand getting fixed at the moment after 3D printing some new parts because of using the flying brick to do stupid things as one should do when they own a durafly tundra😂
I have had this r/c f86 saber since I was when I was in middle school (im a senior now in hs). I loved it and took good care of it, it was a ARF from free wing , but I painted it (did a good job too) I still feel really guilty about what I did to its intake a few times when I was going through *that time* in the process of maturity… that was just wrong. I was a messed up child for sure! It probably would have ptsd if it was sentient great video, all the stereotypes are spot on and had me rolling 😂
I'm the one with the flying wings, gliders and you forgot the one with the scrach build crap airplanes. And also the canard guy, because putting the stabilizer in front is much better. 😁
My kid learned how quickly mentioning this channel gets you escorted from the local field by the 60 year olds while the 70 year olds lock the gate behind you. They make you feel less welcomed than the time I accidentally walked into a Mensa meeting without a name tag. "What do mean I have to take a test first?" That's the last time I swipe right on chick with a foreign sounding name.
Missing the "small composite glider i shoved a electric motor in the diameter of the fuselage, i filled the tail with lead to compensate. 50seconds motor run time on my 6s that puffs up twice its size and gets suck in the fuselage during the flight. All just to do no sailplane stuff except wind whooosh noises when i drop down form altitude only to rocket back up pulling 200 amps on my 150A ESC."
Ive tried most aspects of the hobby now as long as they arent too expensive. Ive come across most of these types too lol. Honestly the most fun comes from cheaper stuff because not scared to crash.
You missed the 5K Watts hotliners guys. Though you didn’t miss me, but I won’t tell you who I am in the list. I can only tell you that I just received my new big shiny cleetus replica sunglasses.
IMAC pilots not being able to land might be the funniest but most true thing said in this video. Can nail a perfect loop but that ground is scary man. And OMP definitely made that bushmaster… 😐
that RV-7 really got me lmao. I fly that thing and its hard AF to control. WHY DID I CHOOSE IT AS MY SECOND PLANE!? MY NEW AEROSCOUT DOES TRICKS BETTER
Flite test is goated, they’re the best, most reliable, and funnest, wanna get into aerobatics without worrying about having to crash your beloved balsa beauty, FT edge 540, and I know, you can get foamies from e-flite or something, but I don’t wanna worry about spray paint or super glue melting your foam, easy, flite test.
You forgot me: the foamboard scratchbuilder. "It's not based on anything, I just grabbed a ruler." "Ah yeah man, those models are gorgeous, I just couldn't justify the purchase, y'know?" "I built this 50cm wide uggo with no airfoil, rudder or paint to fulfil a weirdly specific flight style I wanted once, but it's just as good as any other plane here, really".
I own a nitro plane, a couple 3d foamies, a v900, a umx turbo timber, a sailplane/motor glider, an unfinished lawnmower with a 6s system, and two unfinished foamy kits. I agree with all of these stereotypes.
Good thing I like fast but also STOL UMX planes that I add lights to so I can fly them poorly at night when no one can see me. I'm sure I'm in a league of my own!
My favorite video by far! You forgot me though. The I designed and built this plane, guy. Yes it flies and looks neat, thank you. Just don't ask how many iterations of it I crashed before this one.
Wacky scale/ warbird guy here and you're right, I do spend A LOT of time repairing. Happily, I have several so, while I'm repairing one, I'm also tearing up another. I figure if I can get 50 to a hundred flights out of an airplane, it was worth it. I've said for a long time that you have to have a few screws loose to be in this hobby.
Though I don't have rc nor a hobbyist myself (yet), the roast is real 🤣 Also the "what your blank says about you" thing reminds me of war thunder players
Ohh you must add the "i don´t know anything about flying but i made this from scratch" ... and there´s is a old granma wardrobe transformed into a glow/electric frankenstein
I’m a 3-D foamy- pattern plane- balsa scratch builder/kit builder- nitro old schooler, who still has a lot of FM radio gear. Oh yeah, I learned to fly slope soaring on the coast in the 80s. I love all of it ‼️ Check out, dynamic soaring. 500+ miles an hour 😅
The best part about this video is that Tail-Heavy crew is like 8 of these categories themselves, so you know the roast comes from a sense of love 😂
"I once tried to add a landing gear to my FPV wing but I installed them the wrong way."
- an actual quote from my field.
i may or may not have a bomb drop and drogue chute reversed at one stage
and if you ask me why my foam high wing needed a drogue chute its because it fit and a had an exrta channel
No one else really makes this community style content in model aviation, you nail it
As an FPV freestyle pilot, At first I thought "Eh kinda relateable" And when you said rolls away on Onewheel I litterly laughed do hard I couldent breath for A sec. Thank you Zach.
You may have forgotten about the "biggest" group: the paper plane crew. 😂
Correction: the Powerup 4.0!
6:30 my only defence here is that foam and hotglue is cheap enough for me to be willing to put tons of hours in rather than spending 1K on a factory made airliner. prop planes are like 60 bucks, airliners are atleast 600 and usually 5x bigger

As an ExpressLRS developer, I completely agree with this. Oh wait a second, I thought you said "...HIT LAND more often than you failsafe" 😅
As someone with a tinfoil hat (apparently), thank you from the bottom of my heart.

We almost liked this video as much as Cleetus McFarland 😂 you guys are to funny. Time to celebrate with a few new shirts.
My favorite one is whichever one I build. Newest composite-laminated UAVs I make with better specs than the previous ones.
Its official Tail Heavy Productions is the new Flite Test!
Wait, Flite Test is still around?
That was hilarious. I can relate to way too many of these.

😁
Lots of laughs. The philosophy channel? A funny take on things as usual Zack. 😊
The FMS one is legit 😆 I’m at my job checking if their stuff is back in stock on my down time 🗣
I do that as well. Like THP, I'm always checking to see if the 1300mm Super Cub is back in stock!! :)

@@oliverknowles3229 so many free 3d printed parts STL's online for this plane.
This video is so accurate 😂😂 Especially the old school Warbird guys gatekeeping
🤣🤣🤣🤣. Thanks for including me, and yes I did have a brief UMX addiction 😂.
Great entertainment as always guys 💥🤘
Whatever used plane more affluent hobbyists have discarded due to lack of space or giving up the hobby
The FMS had me dying 😅 i literally refreshed and waited for over a month for my plane to come in stock 🤦♂️
Possible candidate:
The Non-Flite Test Foam board monstrosity.
“You’re a petersripool wannabe”
The flight test comment was really close to home and hilarious but the fpv wing thing hurt lol nice

The sailplane one hit me squarely right in the feels
This is main stream entertainment for a niche interest. I like it!
Hahaha I love it and I admit I am some of these groups 👊🏻💥👊🏻
Great video guys! Really nailed it with the Horizon Hobby one!
Ha, I love tiny whoops. You were clearly too intimidated to go after people who race 65mm quads in any indoor space bigger than a broom closet.
this is actually gold, the expresslrs one is spot on hahahaha

Damn, I have not laughed so hard to tears in a whole. Both thumbs up.
My favorite rc airplanes are my HK tundra and bushmule v2! You are spot on, I have no idea how I'd end up at a rc field lol.
Dude the historicaly accurate vikings at the end was the best part
As someone who owns a bush plane this is Absolutely relatable😂😂😂
"flying is fun, but LANDING IS BETTER!"
So true, I had a good laugh. Thanks for the time you spend on these professional productions.
IMAC pilots not being able to land might be the funniest but most true thing said in this video. Can nail a perfect loop but that ground is scary man.
And OMP definitely made that bushmaster… 😐
Im currently in the "What do i want to be when i grow up" phase, so it's nice to see there are some options.
I almost fell out of my chair with the Motion RC cleetus one.
So true😂
The most unexpected spokes man for RC
@@air-headedaviator1805 would love to see him make a dedicated rc channel, would definitely get more people interested in rc
Do it for Dale! 😂
It's Jethro, not Cleetus... Just sayin...
As an F3k pilot I feel slighted that the superior and objectively most fun category has not even been mentioned.
Why choose just one category, I fly FPV + F3K and of course I use ELRS, so that then nails it :D
Top Flite scale warbirds- I enjoy building planes with the same tools I'd use to build kitchen cabinets.
Can always tell the R/Cer who flies floats exclusively ... tweed jacket, leather patches on the elbows, Wellingtons, smokes a pipe
that RV-7 really got me lmao. I fly that thing and its hard AF to control. WHY DID I CHOOSE IT AS MY SECOND PLANE!? MY NEW AEROSCOUT DOES TRICKS BETTER
Imac extra and kit built warbird were spot on
The fms one is me for sure I check fms site every morning since I got my fms 1700mm been watching they're site for like 2 months lmaoo
Totally get these stereotypes... I am a bush plane guy myself and ya... flying is fine, landing is AMAZING!
Words can't describe my love for this channel.
💙
Not sure why but it made me wanna buy more planes!!
Spot on wit the heli pilots. Wanna see rubber power freeflight to RC conversions and 3d printed airplanes!!!
The best part is that I fit squarely into the extra stereotype with my 260.
3:27 is that Josh holding a J-Wings kit?? 😜 Hmmm
these videos are way too underrated
So true. I fly fpv quads and ride a onewheel.
