We really are kindred spirits. I love that we both thought of stalkers when planning videos for Valentine's Day. LOL People are going to start wondering about our personal relationships. =P
Ha ha! I totally did it unintentionally but I thought it was hilarious! Subconsciously and consciously we have funny thoughts about stalkers/love. In our defence it probably does feel like love for the stalkers. In weird....creepy ways lol
This cracks me up that it was uploaded on Valentine’s Day💗 I just picked up The Secretary today-I am really looking forward to it (I don’t mind slow books). Have a great Valentine’s Day ❤️
Just read your description and made me laugh because I saw TWO videos going up on V-Day about stalkers! Creepy Valentine's vibes all around. Definitely so so interesting when the stalker is a woman though! Going to be adding SO many of these to my list.
This has become a common theme on Lifetime movies, where one woman plots to destroy the life of another one. She may be an old friend, a schoolmate, a long lost daughter, a stepsister that the heroine never knew about, etc. I recently watched a movie called The Wrong Mommy where Ashlynn Yennie plots to destroy Jessica Morris' life, stalks her, invades every facet of her life, plots to take everything from the heroine, including her husband and children. Ashlynn Yennie took envy and coveting to an extreme and was one VERY scary lady.
This cracks me up that this is the video you posted on Valentines day! haha. Then I saw your description and laughed again! Love Tangerine, but haven't read any of the others. I have a couple on my shelves though and will get to them. someday... Love you, April. Happy Valentine's Day!
Hee hee! It was unintentional but also hilarious! And then I popped over to Rachel's channel on the shades of orange and she'd also done a stalker video for Valentine's Day (but intentionally). So funny! Love you too Krista! Happy Valentine's Day to you!
Adding The Secretary to my TBR! The Things We Have in Common by Tash Kavannah is another good book with a female stalker. Pretty Baby by Mary Kubica might also apply, but I DNFed it about 20% of the way in. Curious to go read about AJ Finn.
It's interesting. I kind of had a different reaction after reading the article. I'm actually really worried about him. He was diagnosed as bipolar years ago. What if he has more mental health issues that were never diagnosed? I'm more worried than angry.
Getting Hygge With It - He may have Bipolar disorder or there may even be more going on, but I’m not convinced that’s the cause of his actions. I got the impression he is very manipulative and entitled.
@@stephmorgan286 The article certainly was trying to convey that. The author of the article was going in with their points and it was biased obviously trying to show all the crappy things he's been doing over the years. I'm just worried there's more going on and we may have a very sick man here.
April, the theme of your video makes me think of the poetry of the English poet Stevie Smith. She wrote "I'll have your heart, if not by gift my knife/Shall carve it out. I'll have your heart, your life". Now THAT is some heavy-duty female stalking!
YES!!! Here for this video, April!! Ooo Looker sounds good, pity it doesn't seem to have a great star rating on Goodreads. Been wanting to read Tangerine for so long. Was just looking for Mindy's book on audible but couldn't find it. I did find another of her books though called The Last Act of Hattie Hoffman. The A.J Finn allegations are true - The Newyorker actually quoted my podcast in the article! It's just been discovered that another book called Saving April has an IDENTICAL story line and people are now wondering if he stole her idea as publishers are saying her book was picked up before his.... and as an editor in the industry it's so possible he could have had his hands on her novel before it was published.... even their main characters names!! Hannah and Anna.... so crazy!!!! I just don't know why this other author didn't come forward sooner!!
I think that might be the same book because the main character's name is Hattie in my book! Oh dear. The AJ Finn stuff makes me feel mixed things. I'm actually worried about his mental health. I'm worried we're going to learn 6 years down the line that he's waaaaay more than bipolar.
Oh my gosh! As you were talking about The Woman in the Window, I just remembered my dream last night. I apparently was a stalker! I had a dream that I was watching this man in the next building across from me (I really live in a house not a building) and he caught me watching him. Anyway, I loved this video! I love stalker books! I will try to remember some I have read and let you know. I didn't realize Tangerine was a stalker type book but I am going to listen to it on Scribd now that you talked about it. I have listened to Looker. I did like it but I would have rated it higher had the author not put one scene in the book that really bothered me. I think you will know what scene I am talking about when you get to it. I would love to hear your thoughts after you listen to and see if you know what scene I am talking about. I wish she had left it out. I am looking forward to you doing a video on male stalkers and after you read more female stalker books, please do another video on them.
Eileen by Otessa Mossfegh is a book not necessarily about a female stalker but about a woman who becomes enamoured and obsessed with a colleague which inevitably leads to all kinds of trouble
Hi April! So, I Googled A.J. Finn because I have not heard whatever it is you are referring to here and honestly, inquiring, nosy minds want to know. I came up with zilch. I got an ARC of the book. I thought it was good, but not amazing and gave it away. That was before it got all the hype.
That was a very long, in-depth article. At best, I'd say Dan Mallory/A. J. Finn is a drama queen and a compulsive liar. He's also hugely self-promotional and most likely narcissistic as hell. The article does read like a bit of a personal attack with footnotes. NONE of the people mentioned, including other well-known authors, come off as particularly likeable. The article does have some clout, coming from The New Yorker. I did enjoy the book. It wasn't an all-time favorite, but I'd read the next one. Probably won't pay for it. However, could it be the article was written by Mallory himself, in a twist on self-promotion? Seems like the sort of thing he's capable of. I wouldn't worry about him, April. He's laughing all the way to the bank and if he is narcissistic, he's looking out for himself.

Oooh everything you want me to be sounds like something I would LOVE! I love the idea of a teacher/student stalker story.
I'm really enjoying it! You should watch Rachel's new video - there are 2 student stalker books!
This cracks me up that it was uploaded on Valentine’s Day💗
I just picked up The Secretary today-I am really looking forward to it (I don’t mind slow books).
Have a great Valentine’s Day ❤️
Thank you!! I hope you had a lovely V-day too! I hope you enjoy The Secretary. :)
I’m so happy that you suggest some female stalker book, lol I’m gonna read these all. I find it so fascinating .
I’m so glad this was helpful, Quentin Clod!!

I really enjoyed this video and I definitely added some to my TBR some already were on them.
Wow this is a list I didn’t know I needed but I now I want to read about the female stalkers
I think they're so much fun! Not sure what that says about me lol

Bad Mommy is a creep stalker book. with a bit of dark humor.
Thanks, brought it.
@@TRASHRAVEN Enjoy reading :)

I agree about The Woman In the Window. I never really was rooting for her. Her character was VERY creepy
After reading the article about AJ Finn I wish I hadn’t read his book. I won’t be reading anything else from him.

Ok, that sounds like an awesome poem! 😍
Creeeeepppppy!!! And so perfect for this video!
I dont believe its rare the media and the world around will hardly tell you about it
Must add An Anonymous Girl to this list.

Also, makes me glad I'm not involved in publishing. Appears to be a pretty cutthroat business.
Hypnotists Love Story is on my March TBR! Did you read it?
Haven't read it yet!
Yes
Let me know what you think about looker
