I actually feel sorry for him. Not only because of the rmr but also this whole thing with VP. Of course he couldn't stay at the Russian org but imagine leaving your team for a theoretical upgrade to only see your ex teammates win the major. And then proceed to not return to your career highs despite being one of the best entry fraggers at some point. I don't know where it went wrong for him man

In my opinion the top three teams were Furia, Complexity, and Team Liquid but because of the format one of the three teams had to get screwed because they all played each other meanwhile teams like imperial, legacy, and pain didn't play any of those teams but still qualified. It was essentially like there were groups after the first round but the three best teams in the region were all in the same group when only two could qualify.
As a salty liquid fan I think I understand hatemaxxing now

10:00 I don’t want to cry about seedings because in my vision: if you want to become the best, you have to be ready for ANY opponent. Especially at the major which is basically some kind of World Cup in cs world. There should be playing the best of the best and each team should show them at their full potential. Look at Seized and 9Pandas. Against all odds they qualified. They got shit seeding too against FaZe and maybe got put in LCQ because of that. But did they surrender? No. They’ve taken down a bunch of teams and then took down potentially strongest Astralis roster since 2020 and took down GamerLegion afterwards which is a solid team and can even outplay Faze sometimes. T
I got fucking ashamed but that throw by cadiaN and Yekindar. I still love them, but man…
And I am not even a Liquid fan and I am still hurt by that play.
Seedings are a normal part of any sporting competition. It makes no sense to have the best teams play each other in groups or early elims. The World Cup is seeded by the way… notice how you never see an opening group with Spain, Germany, Portugal, and France.

Major is the biggest event in cs and such teams who want to actually COMPETE at this event should be ready for ANY opponent. There were no unwinnable opponents for Liquid there. They just threw.

@@cloke3076no shit it’s an excuse but it’s a valid one. How tournaments should always work is the better teams are matched against the weaker teams first to weed out the garbage. It’s a failing on valve and pgl that this didn’t happen. Why do I have to fucking explain this to people?
I think when you look at the fact that of the 3 games they played, Liquid had to play the other 2 objective best teams in the tournament based off recent international results, it is definitely ridiculous that Imperial got in by beating NRG, M80, and paiN.
There is clearly something very wrong with either the rankings or the format itself.

And what do I find out during Poland, when I caught up to which team he choose to gun for? ; ) I'm good. Enjoying CS competition more than I ever. Cloud 9 Boston was our most epic moment. My pain was real as my two favorite teams competed in a death match. But I was routing for COL because TL just doesn't feel like TL these days.
It was the least embarrassing loss. They were the 15th seed playing the 2nd seed is what I heard. It's actually impressive they won a map. The rmr system is flawless.

That Complexity vs Liquid draw was the most heartbreaking thing that could have happened. I would have rather risked there being zero NA teams at the major just to give them both a chance to qualify. :(

This new Liquid roster just goes to show that you can have some of the best pieces in the game but they just dont fit just quite right. Like this team is full of ELITE players but theres that cohesion missing. Also these RMRs + bucholz (NA RMR being 2 loss elim MEGA L) have proven to be horrible.

If you actually stop to think about what Elige just did, it's pretty insane. He basically just beat 3 top 20 players mostly by himself. I mean don't get me wrong everyone had some clutch rounds (finally), but Elige was just owning them. It's crazy. Nobody owns NAF.
