I am 73 and have been following this band since about 2010. Obviously I like them a lot and hardly nothing seems to surprise me.What I really like here is the whole band singing, with smiles, together rather than just backup...
Rachel, you're voice melts my heart.
What a bass line! & such tight harmonies.
Unreal! I am always so floored by this group’s talent! Gets me every time!
On top of being great everything, there is an intelligent wit about these guys, both lyrically and instrumentally, that really sets them apart. Big fan.
Just finding out about this group. I like the mix jazz, soul & funk
I wish I would have discovered them years ago
Her voice is completely stunning !!
+benaflex13
The rest of her ain't bad either ;)
every video performance by LSD on You Tube is just plain fun ! I can't tell you how good the bass player is....an acoustic, fretless upright bass is so hard to master---and Bridget does! on a sexist note, Bridget has great legs, too!
Good call Colbert, been up watching all their videos. One of a kind voice
Really dig the song, and that tiny venue stage is so cool.
Saw them at Red Rocks Amphitheater in August. Fell in love with the band instantly.
Me too!
Fun group, full of rhythm and easy listening. Great with wine :)
Brilliant band and great song
Yeah, great tune. Not on the album, so have to keep coming back to UA-cam!
Great job! I could see Delbert McClinton singing that song also.
+subsailor1 ...Yes! Delbert McClinton as a guest with this 4-piece? T'would be awesome.
I really like them a lot! Their arrangements, harmonies and groove are magic. They are my music after BEATLES and FANNY !
New twist at the end. Fine performance.
liking her voice
just too many superlatives out there and none will really say why this is so great. fun. music. great bass, lovely rhythm, cracking guitar, super harmonies and a fab vocal. Nicely filmed too!
And that yellow clothe she has
Too much! Fantastic vocals, and everybody plays just the right part. Make it look easy and effortless, I know they have put in their time practicing and playing on the road. Looking forward to seeing them in Charlottesville, VA next month.
Great band...just love them!!
Such an incredible performance with such great emotion and energy!! Rock on Lake Street Dive! =)
Killer, great production too!
Excellent talents everyone....and such interesting stylized playing.
Amazing
Amen!
Pure rock! This song ... I imagine .... Queen and Freddy Mercury would perform ist.
Yes!!!!
That one dislike must be from a blind and def person who was having a rough day at the time.
... or possibly someone not yet comfortable with the style of lead guitar demonstrated in this rendition.
my head is turned!
damn thats a good song
Come back to Rochester NY!
Классная банда !..
I like that they put out the video...even though there was a tad of a tuning issue...other than that...it was a hot performance.....MUSIC IS REAL. ps....come back to NY forget about Portland.
This sounds like The Jefferson's theme song slowed down, but I love it.
She look so good in yellow 😍
Reincarnation of The Band.
You might think you understand
What turns a boy into a man
You gotta search alone and worthy
But that'll make a lonely girl
That has the top and that rules the world
A king who choose his crown over his queen
Before he gets the notion he doesn't need you
Before the motion grows your plan proceeds to
Say what about me
Say what about me
Look at all the heads I'm turning in the street
Well my oh my, don't you realize
One thing should be on your mind
What about me
You meet his friends you meet his folks
You love his songs you love his jokes
You show him all the moves he's never seen
Then you take his will away
You never go a single day without asking him
With whom or where he's been
You do it all to show him what he's worth
The last things it's about is helping her
Say what about me
Say what about me
Look at all the heads I'm turning in the street
Well my oh my, don't you realize
One thing should be on your mind
What about me
I have lived a privileged life
But I have seen my share of strife
And nothing beats the boy that's leaving me
I might have pushed a little hard
I might have took it way too far
But you've got respect consistency
That's why the next time I won't wait to fall
You know me, I won't hesitate to
Say what about me
Say what about me
Look at all the heads I'm turning in the street
Well my oh my, don't you realize
One thing should be on your mind
What about me
Does anyone else think the first bar(s) remind them of the first bar(s) of the Beatle's "The Night Before"?
Drummer at 2.35 - "What the heck is he doing to that solo?"
Well, it sounds like a mistake and it looks like Rachael and Mike both have a reaction to it but being the pro's they are they just shrug it off and keep on going. Actually, maybe the should put that in on purpose. It adds to the variety because it's not that bad of a muff.
Wishing G strings didnt exist, i respect it still, its just that much more punk
eal
What about Rachael Price! Wow!
stalker focus from the bass player.
dam is she beautiful!
I love guitar in music and it fits there sound but he does need to work on his solos. Seems like at some times he know like three licks and guesses his way through the rest. Just needs to loosen up but still great music. Wish the show near me wasn't sold out already!
.
CJSchecter96 ya, he bombed that solo, but that's live music....
I' m writing in 2016, Check out his recent guitar work. He now has better guitars that keep true as you go up the neck. And for a super jazz trumpet player, and a guy who has a real sense of the music, he has progressed more on the guitar in 4 years than I have in 10 years. And Mike, the drummer, and Bridgette on bass have only gotten better. And Rachel...there is no one can match her. My favorite group, ever.
the guitar detuned
ya, it's a rare fail for them; they're normally so tight. but it's true that he's gotten better recently. Also, i think his first instrument is the trumpet, on which he is pretty flawless.
:T the guitar was detuning
She sounds like a "blusey" Adele. Impressive!
But unlike Adele she can sing in tune...
Who is here from that Colbert bump back in 2014??
... nope - from the "Live from Here" bump.
Great music great band but it would be nice if they returned just one of the great complaments they've received from all their fans. ive never seen them say anything to anyone that's just plain bullshit.
Can't women singers, comedians, etc. talk about something other than relationships/heartache and body image! We get it, these issues are what societies around the world foist on women, but if this is ever going to change WOMEN themselves need to be pro-active!
If you do a bit of research, you'll find that men sing about relationships and heartache just as much as women. And where in this song does she sing about body image?
