I'm fairly convinced the reason a lot of these smaller turbo engines short shift even in manual/sport mode is to keep you better in the effective rev range. This car has peak HP at 6500 RPM so it makes no sense to rev higher than that. It also makes peak torque at 1500 RPM so short shifting a little bit gives you more power early in the next gear.

@@ot7chris I've had it for a year and a half now. I love it. Great performance and smooth driving. Gas mileage is great on long trips. It still gets 25 mpg around town if driven carefully.
It blows my mind that in 6 years time Honda has STILL stubbornly not redesigned the taillights yet. It's basically a unanimous opinion that the current design is not the most aesthetically pleasing.
The lovely part about the 2.0 is that it’s just a detuned type r engine. Get a good tuner and a maybe different bolt ons and you’ll have a very quick efficient car that anyone can drive unlike the Manuel type r.
If you’re looking for A sedan, this is the only choice to get. The others are nowhere near as good as this. It has a driving quality that makes you weep at how good it is. There’s nothing where the accord falls apart
This is the exact model and trim that I have. It's really nice ...... but it comes with a really nice price tag too (if you know what I mean). EDIT: wanted to add with eco mode and not speeding you can get like 38mpg on HWY. That's like 60-65. But @ 75-80 eco you're looking sub 30 mpg. I dont have city mpg for you. The anti collision feature I found to be dangerous at least for my style driving. This is the rear end anti collision. Reason being when you need to stop short there's a chance there's a guy behind you who needs to stop too and you need control of that brake (to let go of it to make room behind you). When the car takes over it's not looking behind you only in front and it almost cause a vehicle to hit my back side once....... I had no control and since I've never used it again. Maybe not a knock on Honda but a knock on the feature no matter the make
This was a very informative and honest review. I appreciate the detailed descriptions and commentary. I’m in the market for my first newer vehicle and this may be it. My wife has a 2019 insight and it’s been super reliable. I’m normally a Ford guy but Honda is winning me over.

I own a 2019 Accord 2.0T in the EX-L trim. In my experience the car doesn't feel that great when you push it super hard. Transmission is a bit laggy and tires will squeal. It really excels though when you find that perfect balance. There's a certain way you have to kinda roll onto the throttle and steer it for those really good acceleration and handling traits to shine through. The 2.0T has a certain sweet spot in the range. I also think the steering is remarkably smooth and precise. I found that it can really dance on a backroad, in many ways feels better than my previous Infiniti G sedan.
The 10 speed auto is faster. A limited slip differential would be nice though. Something has to be said for this car to have 252 hp 2.0 turbo 4 cylinder beating the 301 hp NA v6 though… the gearing is spot on with this 10 speed auto. 😊 In theory… the 300 hp Camry SHOULD beat the accord 2.0 by quite a bit. But… it fails.
I just lost my 2008 Lexus IS350 which was my baby in an icy road accident:( do you think a new 2.0T accord would be a good next move that is still reliable, fun and quick?
Yep, checks all those boxes for me. Just hit 10k on mine. Lost my first car, a 3rd gen 4runner, to the same thing (last snowboard trip of the season on the same drive I did every weekend for months). Still miss that thing and thinking about the details of the crash still upsets me. was planning to have both, but oh well lol
The biggest L we all run was the fact that very few people bought this model with the manual. But i also partially blame dealers for not ordering them since i couldn't find them near me.
The 10th gen Accords were available in 6MT 2.0T trim until the 2022 model year. They're certainly harder to find than the automatics. I had a dealer tell me they didn't exist once because they're so uncommon.
Mazda 3 Gt 2022 as more technologies (head up display), more luxurious interior, cheaper than the accord sport, more torque, awd, better audio (12 Bose speakers), responsive and better infotainment system in my opinion. The poblem with Honda is that they don't go forward, they will upgrade each year just to stay in the competition without bringing anything new. Mazda as grown in the last few years, while Honda stay's the same.
Honda Accords needs more looks, tech in order to compete. Today is not just about reliability anymore as many vehicles are now reliable. Hyundai Sonata has panoramic roof, amazing interior, great sound system, cool seats, surround view camera, a good 1.6T engine and great exterior styling.. Honda needs that. Not just in the Accord but Civic, and SUVs

I was very close to buying one last week but after an extended test drive the discomfort of the car set in. Especially the center console intrusion into my knee
I ordered a black Accord 2.0T. It should be ready for pickup at the dealership by the end of August or sooner. I'm excited about this one.
How has the car been for you?
@@ot7chris I've had it for a year and a half now. I love it. Great performance and smooth driving. Gas mileage is great on long trips. It still gets 25 mpg around town if driven carefully.
@@jameslambert4487So you ordered a brand new one? Or you got it used?
It blows my mind that in 6 years time Honda has STILL stubbornly not redesigned the taillights yet. It's basically a unanimous opinion that the current design is not the most aesthetically pleasing.
Competently agree. Rear end in my opinion is hideous. It’s a shame.
Facts that’s why a lot of people didn’t buy one like myself. Can’t stand the tail lights 🤮
Imo I love this car like excellent daily driver
I own a 2020 sport 2.0 and only thing missing is a limited slip that’s all I wished it had.
The lovely part about the 2.0 is that it’s just a detuned type r engine. Get a good tuner and a maybe different bolt ons and you’ll have a very quick efficient car that anyone can drive unlike the Manuel type r.
wait is it?
EDIT: I dont like how it has buttons instead of a shifter though
Anyone can drive a manual transmission car. It's easy to learn.
It’s actually not just a detuned Type R motor. There’s quite a few differences between the two motors
Its the same basic engine but there are many many differences. It's not just the tune. Turbo , some internals, cooling etc.
@@jjchockey ...I think it's the same engine...just a bigger turbo on the civic.
If you’re looking for A sedan, this is the only choice to get. The others are nowhere near as good as this. It has a driving quality that makes you weep at how good it is. There’s nothing where the accord falls apart
The volkswagen gli autobahn is comparable
I'm finally in the market for a car. This 2022 Honda Accord is at the top of my list 🍷
After owning a 2020 Camry and a driving 2019 Accord, I can say that the interior insulation is awful on both of them. The plastic inside rattles, ticks, buzzes, and it gets very loud during summer time. Go to 8:18 and see yourself, except it came from 7-8 different spots on mine. Great review overall!
Which did you like better?
I have the 1.5T and I love it.
10th gen Honda Accord. The best car i have ever owned
I drive a 2011 model. It's surprising just how familiar some of the layout still is
I love 22 Accord. It’s an awesome Sedan
Honda has excellent engineers and quality control is over best and reliability way better , I’m a Honda fan with a four cylinder engine turbo 1.5 and 2.0 , this is a series rocket 🚀
As a civic touring owner I can't wait too get an accord one day
This Accord & the Subaru Legacy XT (turbo) are 2 awesome cars for the money.
a shame the manual is gone, but the 10-speed is a monster
Were you going to buy a manual Accord??
I think these are genuinely some of the coolest taillights there are on any car, that's just me tho. not too mention there's some crazy aftermarket options for the lights too
I have this exact car and it’s so fun! I love it
I’m stuck between this and a charger RT. I know they’re not even remotely the same car but I love the interior of the Honda over the dodge.
The Dodge has more features tho
@@thermalkid9383 but the Honda will be more reliable
@@HughRussell06 that’s debatable. Accords aren’t that reliable anymore…just join one of the groups and you’ll see.
Charger is outdated and u will regret not having the bigger engine version. Accord is a better daily driver and enjoyable to drive. I love mine
@@thermalkid9383 you probably don’t have or ever had one smh. Misleading people. So tell me the car that’s reliable or the car you own that’s more reliable than a Honda?
In accord if we had Sh-awd.....that's good for those winey roads...only thing is road noise ..rest its a perfect sedan for daily ...by driving the Acura tlx advance is another level big difference in chasse and quietness ..in future i would prefer the Acura coz i want the sh-awd...you have to experience the drive ...👍
I have a 2022 Hybrid EX-L and it’s honestly amazing. Decent mileage incredible interior and great safety features!
I do like that you showcase affordable cars for us bottom percent folk.
I’m having a hard time believing Honda is done with adding 2.0T or V6 on accords. Maybe a plug in accord that puts out 300 hp total. I can dream!
Can’t wait to get one of these for myself next year 🙃 This color is dope btw 🔥🔥
Hey Miles just so you know BLACK Interiors get so hot easily when the car is parked outside somewhere for a period of time so my dad has a 2015 Chrysler 300S and it's exterior color Is Dark Grey Crystal Metallic And the interior is Black so it gets hot whenever it is parked outside somewhere for a long time!!! Just a Lil heads up!!!
You’re so lost 💀 you probably have a 1.5
Very good review. I appreciated all of your technical feedback. Well done. 👏👏👏
Zach is the Camary fast?
Eh. Just 50 more HP but also a few hundred pounds heavier. Power to weight ratio lol
Throw on a air intake and take of the cover of it off. The sounds are insane on it. Sounds so good
I just lost my 2008 Lexus IS350 which was my baby in an icy road accident:( do you think a new 2.0T accord would be a good next move that is still reliable, fun and quick?
Yep, checks all those boxes for me. Just hit 10k on mine.
Lost my first car, a 3rd gen 4runner, to the same thing (last snowboard trip of the season on the same drive I did every weekend for months). Still miss that thing and thinking about the details of the crash still upsets me. was planning to have both, but oh well lol
@@bob3351 I went through with it and got a 22 2.0 sport 10 speed, I absolutely love it so far. RIP to our Toyotas they will be missed
that is such a beautiful steering wheel, props to honda.
I agree
Doesn’t talk like an engineer. No number , no data.
I still love my 2020 accord 2.0 Touring 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The biggest L we all run was the fact that very few people bought this model with the manual. But i also partially blame dealers for not ordering them since i couldn't find them near me.
they're not gonna order what's not in demand
The 10th gen Accords were available in 6MT 2.0T trim until the 2022 model year. They're certainly harder to find than the automatics. I had a dealer tell me they didn't exist once because they're so uncommon.
This color is so hard to get ahold of ! Soon as I see one in my area I’m trading in my 13 sport
1 year ago, I still consider 22' Honda Accord.
honestly amazing
Beautiful vehicle this is my next car.
These are very nice cars. We're in the market for one as we speak. Nice to see you're in the area Tustin/Irvine!
I'm getting one of these in white with a 2.0 turbo next week. Can't wait!
enjoy it, love mine man.
Check out watch a video on the features if you haven't already so you can mess with the settings once you get it
@@bob3351 I will, thanks.
Mazda as grown in the last few years, while Honda stay's the same.
yet honda still far outsale mazda by leaps and bounds, they must be doing something right
Camry or accord ???? What's the best move to go with
I had a 2019 2.0 10A best I’ve ever owned would’ve gotten another but I want to see what they are going to do with the 11th gen
It will be the same powertrain
@@zMischeivous I know I’m talking as far as looks and tech
Honda Accords needs more looks, tech in order to compete. Today is not just about reliability anymore as many vehicles are now reliable. Hyundai Sonata has panoramic roof, amazing interior, great sound system, cool seats, surround view camera, a good 1.6T engine and great exterior styling.. Honda needs that. Not just in the Accord but Civic, and SUVs
Yea but looks aren't everything this looks decent and it's gonna be more reliable than a hyundai they haven't redeemed themselves yet
Hyundais are garbage on wheels. If you plan to keep it forever, get the accord. If you plan to keep it for a few years then yes the sonata N is better.
Idk if that's the reflection and or camera but the front bumper doesn't look right meaning color wise from the rest of the car. Is that just me?(0:45)
I came here to see If it was just me. Must be of the camera, is too obvious not to be a camera effect
@@nmot97 has to be man no way paint job is that bad
Yeah it's a different color, probably because the bumper is made of plastic and it reacts to paint differently than the body of the car.
it’s the same color. i see these same color Accords by the dealership and the front bumper always looks a little different when you record because of lighting. in person, they’re the same though
It's the camera. If you look at the aft end of the car from that same shot, it's a different color as well
This is a fantastic car. The detuned Civic SI engine is quick. GREAT CAR
Thank you for the excellent review.
Really liked this review. My pops has been shopping around for a new car moving on from his 2019 Camry XSE and he really likes the way the accord looks but yesterday we viewed a Hyundai Sonota N Line and I have to say it is a beautiful car. Will take this review into consideration as we will be going to test drive an accord today.
Good video! To switch into full paddle shifter mode u need to press drive one more time until it turns into s mode. Idk if this car has it tho
It would be nice to see this car having a showdown with The Camry
God I love Honda accords 😩😩
Honda needs to build a HFP version of this with a LSD,a manual and some cooler aero.
Which one is better? Toyota Corolla 2022 or Honda Civic 2022?
From someone who’s owned both in fully loaded trims (XSE & Sport Touring), the Civic by a long shot. Only thing I liked better about the Corolla is that it got slightly better fuel economy.
Civic any day. Not even a comparison. Any compact car > corolla
I love the 10th generation accord. Honda could’ve done a better job with the 11th generation though. It’s a more mature look. Hands down, Hondas are great cars!
That accord back seat is amazing. I love the back seat of this car
Honestly I’m debating Between this and a Hyundai Elantra or Sonata since Hyundai is killing it recently
😂😂
Hyundai are pretty sharp looking cars . I just wonder if they can hold up like a honda can (probably not)
H O N D A... this 10th generation is closer to an acura lexus or audi.. can't compare or compite with hyundai AT ALL !
@@ronym829 Don’t compare this Accord to an Audi lol The Accord exterior is hideous especially the tail lights whereas Audi makes beautiful cars. But Honda is much more reliable
@ 0:37sec the bumper looks discolored from the rest of paint?
I like that it doesn't have a geer handle like civic 22
Honda the power of dreams
