@@aaz1992 I bought a 2017 EX-L V6 new and it has 34,000 miles on it .. After watching this ‘23 review I was relieved to have bought my Accord when I did. Last year for the V6 and the classic body style. Our 2017’s just increased in value because there are so many Honda enthusiasts out there looking to buy them used - but I don’t ever plan on trading mine in because I have the title and I don’t want to worry about car payments for another fifteen years! 👍🏻
The new Accords do look good, i didn't accept it at first but it does. The problem is that it doesn't look anywhere near as good as the last model and the loss of the 2.0T is a tragedy and probably why i will go somewhere else for my next car.
The most troubling aspect of the 10th to 11th Gen transition (other than the demise of the 2.0T as you note in your video title) is the feature deprecation in 11th Gen models compared to their 10th Gen predecessor trim levels. This is the "top" 11th Gen Sport trim (Sport L). Here's what it omits compared to the outgoing Sport 2.0T: driver's side map pocket - gone, rear seat air vents - gone, rear USB charging ports - gone, LED fog lamps - gone, stitched, padded rear armrests - gone (replaced with uber-cheap molded polyurethane textured units).. The all leather interior is nice, the new styling is bland but inoffensive (and I agree lacks any traditional Honda styling quirks - call it generic), it is a bit quieter in terms of NVH compared to the outgoing generation, etc. But here's the thing. it's a family sedan. It is woefully inadequate as a VW GTI performance driving/motorsports alternative. Families often use all of the seating positions for, well, family members. And this is not an inexpensive trim level. The deprecation of the occupant comfort and convenience features is kind of silly cost-cutting in a model better for people carrying than canyon carving. It's like the accounting team (Yen savings focus) and experience design team (customer use case focus) didn't talk during the project. I also wonder whether the drop in price of the base RWD single motor Tesla Model 3 to ~$30k after tax credits will decimate mid-sided family sedan segment sales (particularly Accord and Camry). The Tesla is RWD and handles better than FWD vehicles, is quicker than any 11th Gen Accord in its single motor base clothes, and quicker than all but the V6 Camry models/trims, has comparable generous passenger interior space, and for much of the US is supported by a now truly expansive Supercharger network (i.e., the 278 mile per charge range of the base model isn't much of a liability vs a gasoline powered sedan). As a newer brand Tesla also has a lot more "cachet" than these hoary old "fleet" sedan model lines. Still, it's not too late for Honda to redeem the 11th Gen. All it would take would be a limited production Type R model. Maybe with the 2.0T model with the LSD and DCT borrowed from the Type R and a hooning-oriented suspension tune, or an AWD version borrowing Acura's SH-AWD and one of Honda's surviving V6s (the new 3.5 DOHC unit in the Pilot or the 3.0 from Acura). Honda still has the pieces in production to make a more engaging, enthusiast oriented Accord. Will they? Probably not.
Just here to update everyone, The 11th Generation Honda Accord is selling extremely well. Sales are on the up and up! So all the crying about the styling DID NOT WORK 😊
I haven't liked the bodystyle for years, more specifically the body shape. I still enjoy the body shape of the generation ending in 2017. While I will admit, Honda has improved the style of the front of the Accord, the rear bodyshape just doesn't do it for me. That and the fact that I enjoyed the older model's design that had better viewing angles from the interior and less blind spots. All of the tech that has been created is more of a distraction than a help in making a workaround. The backup camera does have some other practical uses that are truly helpful and less of a workaround.
I think what really bothers me the most is that they cut corners with the basic finishes. How is it that my 2013 EX came with turn indicators on the sideview mirrors PLUS driverside blindspot camera and this don't? 2023 Honda still using prompt rods, no panoramic sunroof, no rear Air vents(that's just harsh), lol bigger screen than what comes in the Pilot yet no 360 views the same 3 basic views since 2018..... I guess Honda's big idea for 2023 was to make the Civic their flagship sedan, atleast the SI and R maintained perfomance and the hatchbacks are outstanding!
I like the things you talk about. Never seen somebody testing the turning radius before. In my opinion this infos are more important than your personal opinion on every switch or how the seats look.
@@CARDAMELO Same, I’m leasing mine. I love it a lot. Hopefully when my lease is up they have the 2.0T back (likely never happening) or a more powerful hybrid with 290+ HP/340+ TQ. Also fog lights and standard BSM..
@@CARDAMELO Yes feels very luxurious. Way better than my 2019 Acura ILX I traded in. I may even buy out the lease if I find myself driving it too much LOL.
The previous gen was revolutionary. This is a slight evolution on an identical chassis that is actually less ridgid due to the battery pack LOL. And it's slow. If Honda wanted to do this, you have to match the acceleration of the previous gen...
I just bought a 2024 touring hybrid in all black. Looks pretty sleek in black. But I'm kind of blown away there are no rear vents in the lower trim. Since when is that not a standard feature? Passengers would literally die here in AZ heat, especially if someone had a baby on board.
Great review! But I’ll hang onto my 17 V6 coupe 6MT…. Love how the J35 sounds.. Not interested in Hybrid tech even though it’s great on gas! Just want to continue having fun whilst driving.
Enjoyed your review. Question, is the new Accord front wheel drive or rear wheel drive? I'm one of that 10% with a 2018 EXL with the 2.0 and personally I wouldn't trade it for this new model. I enjoy having that extra power, it puts some fun into the driving experience. As for the 10 speed automatic, I have no complaints. Thanks again for the great review.
I love my 2022 Accord 2.0 glad I didn’t wait because these new accords look like old and dated to the 2010’s even though it’s a new design. Ford fusion vibes on exterior, interior looks good and refined though
i remember when my dad got his accord in 2016 he bought it a trim above the sport for only 26k msrp and 24 negotiated. cars are too expensive these days
I want to like it but the interior is a sea of black beige is no longer an option just (black and gray interiors) I love the design itself just would like to see a few more elements inside to give it more character. My 2014 EX-L V6 has a better sound to the door and the interior has better materials even the back door has leather on the top portion of the panel and rear air-vents. Honda has cheapen up on materials just to follow the market. Honestly from hearing what others are saying they wanted to bring the car up market however, they missed the mark for me. Honda needs to go back to the 9th gen especially the EX-L and Touring trims to remind them what upmarket is like and how the Accord should be. Irony of mentioning the 9th gen and one drives by at 9:03 lol.
What Honda really is missing is that most drivers are boring drivers, hence, large portion on SUV sales. Those of us that like & want cars are, a large part, enthusiasts. That means make an enthusiast's car, not a rental fleet hero.
It was only 10 percent or less because these fools couldn’t manufacture anything!! Every single dang time I called the dealership, they said they do not have the 2022 touring. They said it was extremely hard to snag one
I’ll be keeping my 2017 EX-L Coupe V6! The 2023 seems so poorly designed and overpriced when compared to the previous gens that I’m going to burst out laughing next time I take my 2017 to the dealership for service and the salesman asks me if I’d like to trade it in for a’23. I’m a devoted Honda fan though - I’m looking forward to whatever they produce in future years. I’m going to remain optimistic, hopefully they’ll get it right next time.
Based on your review, maybe I’m missing something, this new accord is not worth it for the price. They cut corners, all for a more expensive price tag compared to its competition.
To me it gained its "hondaness" back to me this feels closest to how they were designing vehicles back in the 90s this is imo is the best looking accord since 05 model
I was all prepared to trade up for a 23 Touring but with no 2.0T, my 21 Touring will probably be my first and last Honda. I can't see myself paying for an Acura to get the 2.0T when it'll be smaller, and slower than the Accord.
Not for me. I have always bought the last year for the model honda I liked. 2000 civic, 2012 accord and now my 17 accord. This way, You get the refreshed version you like, and the kinks have been worked out. I don't know what they've done to this 5 yr haul they've created (model lifespan) gets refreshed 3 yrs in. Run the refresh for 2 yrs, then on to the next generation. But as for this generation, I won't be getting one. Remember the 10 gets fuel/oil mixing problem in the 2018's and 2019'. That was the new 10th gen model. The had all the stuff worked out as the generation runs and exposed problems have been address. But this lack of power, I mean the engine isn't even connected to anything. Did you know that? It's literally there to make power for the battery and has fake shifts as it is not connected to a transmission. I'm so confused by these choices, oh and 6 modes of braking?!!?
May I suggest that you can show more driving assistance technology for POV. Even Honda has already went through 3 generations of Honda Sensing in last 6 years. I am considering new car based on the most innovative and advanced driving assist technology
Never buy the first year of a new Honda Accord! You will get more if you wait a year or two. The 2.0T is a nice car - we rented one for a trip a few years ago. I love my 2014 Honda Accord EX Sedan with a 2.4L non turbo engine AND CVT!!! Just turned 80K miles on the odometer last week. Currently I only put < 5K miles a year and I will see what the new Accord has to offer when I retire, in 3 years:)
Lets make it clear, most cars today no longer come with leather. It's all pleather, leatherette, or vinyl. Leather was taken off the market for the most part
First No F1, then no MT in the 2.0 accord, now no 2.0... They have totally lost me. After owning 6 Hondas (while still own 2), I will have to go get a G70 or a Kia K5. We that hate SUVs & want a "sporty " car & have kids (rear seats) are severely disappointed. Not to mention that it looks perfect for fleet sales, bland as the last ford Taurus. Honda Accord... the new police cruiser.
The interior is fine and hybrids aren't the worst. What I don't get is why the styling is so boring. It's not even bad, just plain. I hope the guys over at Yofer can help with the styling, but I don't see myself going to an 11th gen from my 2019
NAHH I AM STILL KEEPING MY 1.5T 2018 WAS LOOKING TO UPGRADE TO 2023 2.0T BUT WILL WAIT AND FIND A NICE 2.0T AND SWAP MINE .. honda might have to consider 2.0T IN THE 2024 OTHERWISE LOOSING ALOT OF CUSOTMERS
Think it's a disappointment from the 10th generation. It was alot more sportier and I think it's just going to make the 2.0t more valuable or even the 1.5t at that. The power of the gas engine 10 speed and turbo honda was on to something. They should of kept the sporty look cause not everyone want to drive a civic.
My first Accord was a 1988 Accord Coupe LXi. My last one is my current 2021 Accord Touring 2.0T. Won’t be buying any more Accords unless Honda chooses to offer a more powerful version in the future. Going from my 2.0T to this weak Accord Hybrid would be a colossal downgrade.
It actually is. The most fuel efficient model is the exl with the smaller wheels. So you pay more for a a big car on tiny wheels [compared it's size], hybrid battery weight, and an engine that solely serves as a generator. If you get the 19's you start, it's takes a bite out your mileage. Makes all that extra stuff, just for things that can break or malfunction not worth it, 🤔, maybe if the hybrid made it fun to drive, but it's wheel size seems to play a large role, so........
Completely agree with you @ ~14:30 - I definitely haven’t been a big fan of the outgoing generation’s interior or exterior but Honda certainly knocked that incoming gen out of the park with all its aesthetics. The only reason I wouldn’t personally purchase one would be because of the seemingly underwhelming powertrains (ie: just leased a ‘23 Sonata N-Line and *love* it), but otherwise, it looks to be a great and much needed product offering in their evolving lineup.
Yes we are all disappointed in the fact that the 2.0 is gone but… this means Honda was struggling in making them either fast or economical. Our 2017’s just increased in value because there are so many Honda enthusiasts out there looking to buy them used - but I don’t ever plan on trading mine in because I have the title and I don’t want to worry about car payments for another fifteen years! 👍🏻
The 10th gen Accord was the last Accord. RIP to an absolute legend
Legend lives on!!!
9th gen V6, you mean
Personally, I like the toned down design that Honda is doing now. Think it looks way better than last gen but to each their own.
Agree.
Oh come on. The last gen wasn't THAT offensive.
Lol you must be 80 years old
@@ceciljohnson6910 you right this dude saying looks better than the previous generation he’s a senior citizen
Love it💪exterior looks so clean. Only thing i dont like they got rid off that 2.0& shifter knob..
The new Accords do look good, i didn't accept it at first but it does. The problem is that it doesn't look anywhere near as good as the last model and the loss of the 2.0T is a tragedy and probably why i will go somewhere else for my next car.
The 2023 Honda took a giant step backward on style and function.
The Japanese are upping their design game with the new Prius and now the new Accord.
Prius yes, this no
The most troubling aspect of the 10th to 11th Gen transition (other than the demise of the 2.0T as you note in your video title) is the feature deprecation in 11th Gen models compared to their 10th Gen predecessor trim levels.
I think the design looks much better than previous gen.
great design choice looks modern
Conservative is the word.
it looks boring and plain
Na it doesn’t the 2020 looked the best
Why? Because it doesn't look "offensive"? Lol get a grip. Like GOd forbid automakers make their cars look sporty.
I wish they would’ve implemented the interior of this gen into the previous one. Would’ve been the best Sedan imo
This is going to sell a lot of Kias and Hyundais
8:56 hey look! The best Accord ever made!
In my opinion this infos are more important than your personal opinion on every switch or how the seats look.
its starting to grow on me honestly.
Me too and I just got one
@@CARDAMELO Same, I’m leasing mine. I love it a lot. Hopefully when my lease is up they have the 2.0T back (likely never happening) or a more powerful hybrid with 290+ HP/340+ TQ. Also fog lights and standard BSM..
@@lefthanded5473 I like the design and sport mode. Little affordable luxury car feel
All the time Honda acorrd is the best car try to drive you know how the car good
I just bought a 2024 touring hybrid in all black. Looks pretty sleek in black. But I'm kind of blown away there are no rear vents in the lower trim. Since when is that not a standard feature? Passengers would literally die here in AZ heat, especially if someone had a baby on board.
Honda paying folk hella money to sell the car that they fked up on!
Camry TRD for the win.
Thanks for helping make my mind up. Toyota Camry V6 here i come!
if people really want that 2.0T they can get an Acura TLX. you can get one with under 20K miles on it for less than what this accord cost.
Dude No Respectable Adult will buy a Car with 200Hp in a Midsize Car Period"
Not Up 4 Debate this is a Civic Hybrid Or premium civic aka a Joke"
Great review! But I’ll hang onto my 17 V6 coupe 6MT…. Love how the J35 sounds.. Not interested in Hybrid tech even though it’s great on gas! Just want to continue having fun whilst driving.
I'm still loving my V6!
Same. 2017 was peak Accord
this was a great video! using it to research the upcoming civic hybrid
I loved the last Gen 2.0T this car looks like the civic
Enjoyed your review. Question, is the new Accord front wheel drive or rear wheel drive? I'm one of that 10% with a 2018 EXL with the 2.0 and personally I wouldn't trade it for this new model. I enjoy having that extra power, it puts some fun into the driving experience. As for the 10 speed automatic, I have no complaints. Thanks again for the great review.
The new one is still FWD only.
I love my 2022 Accord 2.0 glad I didn’t wait because these new accords look like old and dated to the 2010’s even though it’s a new design. Ford fusion vibes on exterior, interior looks good and refined though
Final someone did a pov
i remember when my dad got his accord in 2016 he bought it a trim above the sport for only 26k msrp and 24 negotiated. cars are too expensive these days
I have a 21’ accord 2.0 with only 15k miles. They call me weekly to try and buy it. I know what I have.
i have this exact trim and love it!
ngl the car now looks like the audi rs7 form side profile.
Not too shabby!
Even the taillights they look similar for sure
The front of this car bothers me for some reason
I just got one in platinum white. I was more interested in gas mileage than having the 2.0T. I have a 2.0T and it's not great on gas.
@@lefthanded5473 why does my financial obligation concern you?
Were are you testing this car? San Diego?Beautiful area.
2021 Accord 2.0t all the way !
Paying over 35K for a car that doesn’t even have at least couple USB chargers for the back seats is a killer for me!!
Still prefer previous gen. It would have been so much better if it still had the 2 liter turbo.
dropping 2.0 turbo is huge mistake honda😡
Great ride in Touring Form-- except no heated steering wheel and that is crazy!
Solid review.
With gas prices this isn’t a bad car to consider buying
if people were really worried about gas prices suv's wouldn't be taking over
Never buy the first year of a new Honda Accord!
I am from India I like your videos🥰🥰🥰🥰
They couldn’t improve on the 2020 design I was considering getting one of those and I’m an American car guy
I think the Altima looks better.
The Altima looks WAY better. Couldn’t agree more
Can u test drive EX-L trim and compare to hybrid sport with cloth seats, I am curious which one is better on the road
I definitely would get it if it came with a 10 speed and over 250 HP. Nobody wants a full size sedan with 200 hp
I was watching the window magazine they collaborate
The interior is fine and hybrids aren't the worst. What I don't get is why the styling is so boring. It's not even bad, just plain. I hope the guys over at Yofer can help with the styling, but I don't see myself going to an 11th gen from my 2019
Why not a 2.0T with the hybrid system with the 10-speed making it the best of both worlds
2023 V6 Camry will give the Accord the business. The Accord is finished.
Awesome color, but can you get a 2023 for MSRP?
Think it's a disappointment from the 10th generation. It was alot more sportier and I think it's just going to make the 2.0t more valuable or even the 1.5t at that. The power of the gas engine 10 speed and turbo honda was on to something. They should of kept the sporty look cause not everyone want to drive a civic.
My first car was a 2003 Honda Accord 😊
My first Accord was a 1988 Accord Coupe LXi. My last one is my current 2021 Accord Touring 2.0T. Won’t be buying any more Accords unless Honda chooses to offer a more powerful version in the future. Going from my 2.0T to this weak Accord Hybrid would be a colossal downgrade.
Is it really solely the wheel size that’s making the change in mpg between models?
It actually is. The most fuel efficient model is the exl with the smaller wheels. So you pay more for a a big car on tiny wheels [compared it's size], hybrid battery weight, and an engine that solely serves as a generator. If you get the 19's you start, it's takes a bite out your mileage. Makes all that extra stuff, just for things that can break or malfunction not worth it, 🤔, maybe if the hybrid made it fun to drive, but it's wheel size seems to play a large role, so........
@@mjm291982 ahh gotcha ok. Thanks dude
i love it im and 8th and up honda guy and really love it me and my mom was just talking about this a few weeks ago
Moving upmarket with the styling ? Bro there’s no way anyone thinks this car looks better than the last gen.
Since we’re in a middle of a Great Depression, they decided to make it wayyyy fuel efficient. Watch Honda is going to make a crazy engine in the future just wait.
The civic hatch sport touring got it in the bag
Hows the cabin noise? Honda has notoriously bad road noise.
