I am from South Korea. There we, all Korean boys, must complete the military service. Anyway, from 2001 to 2003, while I was in the army I loved to listen to the music by Gin Blossoms, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Goo Goo Dolls, R.E.M., Collective Soul, Hootie and the Blowfish, Sister Hazel, Wallflowers... This song reminds me of the time of my youth and the 21 year-old soldier's solitary feeling. Thanks to those bands.

My favorite song of all time. The memories this song brings back makes tears drop...... very special time in my life, remembering the one that got away…, and just a great song. Can only hope they have the same memories of it I do ….
I remember back in the day I idolize my older cousin so much because he plays this song so well every drinking sessions. He never had any music lessons and he just play by ear. How he plays this song sounds like just the original record. I used to tell him to teach me and he always tells me to learn it by myself because he urges me to become better at guitar playing.. Years passed by and I was able to play better than him and him not teaching me made me become a decent guitarist when I was in college. About 2 months ago he died of liver cirrhosis because of drinking a lot. We're not very close but I'll always remember him everytime I hear this song. Rest in peace cousin, one day we'll jam together in heaven and play this song with our other cousins.
I was driving back home the other day... My kids were on the back seat, I was down... My wife was at home waiting for us and this song popped up as I looked back to see my kids for a moment. Everything clicked. Everything was right. That's why I love the Blossoms... They re always there.
I was at this concert when this video was being filmed. It was during a Boston radio station's birthday party called the River Rave (WBCN) in 1996 in Mansfield MA, at a place then called "Great Woods" now called the Xfinity Center. There were two stages, the main stage where Gin Blossoms, Lenny Kravitz, The Presidents of the United States of America, Patti Smith and Sonic Youth played. The second stage they set up in the woods that a few hundred people would wander over to, and that's where Everclear, Dishwalla, Tree, and my favorite....Pulp played, after they had just played Glastonbury a few months prior. Jarvis and the rest absolutely killed it, "Common People" is still one of my favs!

It somehow gives me strength for some unknown reason.....maybe bcoz it makes me remember the good old fun happy days when i was in highschool. I was so strong back then so full of energy so full of positivity so reckless feeling so invincible......then as time goes by a lot of failures came that blew my character away bit by bit makin me a different person a weaker person.

I saw that these guys were gonna be playing near us later this month, so my wife and I decided to get tickets to see them. Started going back and listening to all of their music, and completely forgot about this gem.
Five live gigs, and worth every trip. Love their heart and commitment to the fans. Always kind for an interview, and continuing to write great music. This was our first wedding dance song!
This was in my playlist back in 90’s college days and played on loop. When I hear this today, it’s just overwhelming, like I’ve been thrown back in different time. So nostalgic and immense the feeling, I cried.
This is my wedding song, our 1 year anniversary is next month. We got to see the Gin Blossoms on 9/18/2021 in Merrimack, New Hampshire. They played this and my wife and I cried while we got to dance to our wedding song being played live. We were 5 rows from them , I got a pick from Jesse . Not bad for my first concert. Thank you Gin Blossoms for the great music all these years.

Absolutely. I’m 41, making me an old millennial, but my older Gen X sister is responsible for my musical taste. My first cassette tape hand me downs from her were some of the best ever recorded, including Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Deep Purple, The Doors, The Mammas and the Papas, but more importantly I think, a lot of the 90s stuff. Much of the Seattle scene, PJ, Soundgarden, Mother Love Bone, etc but Gin Blossom’s New Miserable Experience is one of my most memorable records from that time period. I still listen to and love this record all these years later. It takes me back to a better time when I was just coming of age, the world still seemed ok, and I was just beginning to date and have those kind of experiences. This music is sacred to me.
what a great song... as a guitarist I adore the tone of the the intertwined rhythm guitar parts. as a human I adore the simple but profoundly moving lyrics and melody.

Beautiful song, both inspiring and heart-breaking. One of the virtues of this music video (as with others of the 90s) is that the filmography is fairly top notch. I'm not talking about the quality of technology per se, but rather the style and mood of the setting, the camera angles, and the way the video was shot. It has a distinct style that identifies with an era when at least some consideration was put into making a music video.

what a great song... as a guitarist I adore the tone of the the intertwined rhythm guitar parts. as a human I adore the simple but profoundly moving lyrics and melody.
This only has 10 million views but you won't believe everyone in the world is playing this in their cassette tapes back in those years
Haist. Nkkamiss yung mga panahon na ganito ung mga tugtugan n marrinig mo s mga radyo mga kinakanta.. Panahon n di pa ko na momroblema lagi s nuhay, kung. Nsa moderno n taung pnahon pero prang mas msaya parin yung noon.
*"As Long As It Matters"*
How can I find something
That two can take
Without stumbling as we
Walk into our future's wake
I'm like a broken record
That you can play
Repeating as if it matters
Everything I want to say
I'll be all right
As long as it matters
As long as you're here with me now
Forget that time
It's nothing we touch and see
All this is fine
Even as it crashes down on me
I'm looking around
There's nothing that I could want
More than to tell you
There's no more than we've already got

old school but good memories.. how i wish i could always go back",
This is our fave jam while his driving. 5 yrs ago when we’re still inlove & happy. It reminds me of our good old days. Now we’re just cold & broken
Nice song 😍😍😍
90s videos in a nutshell. Over saturation of colors, too many cuts, odd angles. Textbook example: Counting Blue Cars lol
A song that never gets old, ang chill lang pakingan XD

Beautiful youth, fades so fast, like a flower in the sunlight, but the memories will remain as strong as ever

Francis Marie strange times, really kicks in that tendency to zone out and reminisce. Hang in there :)
