My dad passed away yesterday and now I'm making a playlist with all the songs he loved and I remember him by. This is one of them. Thank you dad for showing me the greatest artists of all times. Loved, missed and never forgotten 🤘🔥
This song always reminds me of my son Justin. We used to listen to it together. He's 46yrs now I'm 66yrs. Beautiful memories. Gill Cape Town South Africa
Days before my uncle died from cancer, he was the one who raised me and the only person I got my inspirations to, sang this song when I played it on the hospital room. I was so surprised cause it's the first time we both listened together in this song. We have the same taste in music (60s-90s). It has been a long time since we sang together. He's having a difficulty singing becase of his lackness of breath. But together, we sang this song. I told him how did he knew this song. He said he always hear this whenever he travelled back to the good old days. His voice cracked, it was so unfamiliar and different from the voice he had when used to sang together. After the song we both laughed, and I saw how difficult his situation was. I went to the bathroom and cried my heart out. This was the last song we sang together. Hey uncle, brother and father, Rest in peace. I am missing you a lot. 😭😭
Awesome story. I'm glad you shared it! That's exactly what music is! Music is life, love, feeling's and yes sometimes tears. You will always have those memories and as you know, every time you hear this song it'll remind of that time singing it with him. Tears of joy? Oh yea, I'm sure they were for him. Thanks
JUNGLE JIM That's the power of music, I guess. It could make us travel in time whenever we hear certain songs. And yes, I know I am gonna be keeping that feeling forever. Whenever I hear this song, I sing it with my heart and close my eyes, dreaming that I am still singing it with him. Thanks bro.
Not a single f*** phone, just people purely enjoying great music, jumping and singing, enjoying every minute and clapping with both free hands. All in their memories This is an all Generations Anthem by the way...
When you go to a show and give a band an honest shot, and the band gives you an honest nights work, something magical happens. There's a connection there that lasts your whole life. You might not be a big fan of the band but you will forever mark them a thumbs up. It's a fantastic way to spend an evening with friends and family. Going to a good live show.
Yep, I've been to thousands of great concerts over the past 50 years. Concerts in the US, Europe, and Canada, including the absolute best! Pink Floyd, McCartney and Wings, The Stones (3 times) Deep Purple, The Who, Rod Stewart and Faces, John Lennon, and so many more I consider myself extremely lucky. There's just nothing like it, wonderful music, wonderful people, wonderful times. Long live loud, live, rock and roll!
knowsmebyname I saw John and Yoko along with the Plastic Ono Elephant's Memory Band in LA in late 1972. It was quite the concert and included (among others) Mott the Hoople, Sly & the Family Stone, The Raspberries, and a little known band calling themselves the Eagles. With all that talent it really was a great concert. 1972 was good to me. I hitch-hiked the west coast seeking freedom, good times and music. Traveling from my home in southern Oregon to Seattle, then on to SF, LA, back to Portland, then San Diego, and on to Eugene. There were smaller trips too, constantly going to concerts. I attended many great events and met such wonderful people. No doubt 1972 I had some of the finest times of my life.
I have loved listening to this song ever since i was 12 years old. I am 46 today living in Canada. Lou my Italian Junior High School teacher would always let me play this song. Love REM, one of my favorite songs. It's good to see everyone actually enjoying the song without feeling the need to be recording them with their smart phones like today...
it was in 2003(! - not 2004! -- it was published (!) 2004; but recorded july,19th, 2003, in Wiesbaden, Germany... I should know, I was there...) ... and I would be somewhat happy, if this band was still around to be recorded by freeking f****ng smartphones...
I always see people complain about the cell phone’s. I went to the majority of my concerts before the cell phone and had a great time, however I went to see America in concert a couple of months ago, cell phone in hand, and so glad I did. Had amazing seats, got me some great footage and photos that I get to look at fondly for as long as I’m still around. I would LOVE to have some of that for past concerts I went to. Cameras just were not as assessable. I completely enjoyed both experiences!
I was only once ever lucky enough to see REM live, and when they were preparing to play this, they brought out the mandolin, someone obviously smacked one of the strings, I heard that distinctive little "tink!" sound, and I fucking LOST it. :D Amazing group, and I still miss them and wish they'd get back together. So much of my life is lived to the soundtrack of REM.

Such as AL-Ä.-GōR-Ē (Al A Gore) or I AMBUSH (9.11 pres G Dubya BUSH) or BURN-E MADE-OFF (burn Everything then MADE OFF with the cash)So too does MIChaEL or "unspelled" as a MIC GOD is IN the name MIC EL (Mic = 🎤 eL = god/master)

This popped up in my feed. Forgot how great these guys were!! His voice is so awesome!! Just pure raw talent. Sounds better than many singers recordings!!❤
the look on the face of the singer... "oh well... you've all been waiting for this one, haven't you..." Not, that it's the only thing on his mind. But with all the many concerts he#s been through, he sure has his mountain of thought and experience in that direction...
If time travel existed, I would no doubt go back to see R.E.M. along with several other bands in person during their prime years. Others I would include would be Beatles, Beach Boys, and U2 among others.

Actually some of the most political music was in the 1960’s during the Vietnam war. Listen to Ohio CSNY,Country Joe & the fish &so many others.
I like so much rock song from r.e.m.

This popped up in my feed. Forgot how great these guys were!! His voice is so awesome!! Just pure raw talent. Sounds better than many singers recordings!!❤
For a band, nothing is better than "once the intro starts, the crowd trun to carzy"
haha yeah
the look on the face of the singer... "oh well... you've all been waiting for this one, haven't you..."
Not, that it's the only thing on his mind. But with all the many concerts he#s been through, he sure has his mountain of thought and experience in that direction...
Is this an alcoholic anonymous song?
música boa nunca perde a essência!!!

Propane And Propane Accessories lĺ
This is what real music was, so much better than nearly anything in today's age. REM is my favorite band of all time hands down.
You got that right! So much of today's music just doesn't have what it used to!!!
If time travel existed, I would no doubt go back to see R.E.M. along with several other bands in person during their prime years. Others I would include would be Beatles, Beach Boys, and U2 among others.

Adam Rust you right that what call music 🌹
Modern day music = It all sounds like commercial made garbage produced, written, recorded by the same 5 people who find robots to perform it.
My dads favorite song....this one is for you dad....I miss you ❤ 🙏
This song just never gets old.
That’s the truth
Can't argue with that! 👍
