    This was such a refreshing scene, because Mallory consistently cocked things up and it was great to finally see him called out on it, especially since it's Bond that ultimately suffers the most for his bad decisions. The scene really underscores the difference between Judi Dench's M and this one, as well, from the lack of professionalism to the bitterness. Mallory couldn't take his emotion out of the equation, and didn't have the mind for the job to gain and sustain respect. He had Bond and his own staff turn against him, all in an effort to do what is right. He failed as a leader, in about the biggest way one can.

      @Bad_At_Parties Рік тому +14

      @@WhiteScarsEmo Can't imagine it. She was very much aligned with Bond's thinking, of putting power in more stable hands, and not investing so heavily in a system that could easily be turned into a weapon of war. Heracles created the very thing she warned about during her inquest: an enemy without nation or obvious motivation could use it to wreak havoc with complete cover. Before it was noticed, whole races or other sects of the population could be swiftly wiped out. It would be a far cry from the old school ways she was used to, which is another reason I think she'd refuse to support it. As she said in "Casino Royale": "Christ, I miss the Cold War."

      But if Heracles was real it would be near the perfect weapon and not very easy to perfect and replicate, criminals and governments would need top expert chemists, physicists and microbiologists etc. I can understand M intentions Heracles would only target certain individuals and their relatives so your near guaranteed to kill the target without harming or killing anyone else.
      Furthermore, no one could be prosecuted because so many people would be infected with Heracles before reaching a target you wouldn't know who infected who, also being "off the books" the creators would denied Heracles existed.

      He’s a case of the kind of worker that got caught up in the business, happens more often than you think, that’s why M had control of what she was doing and who to trust, she just got real lucky it was Bond and other relationships in governments she gained throughout the years, Mallory didn’t have the same kind of circle it seems, so he fell victim to the very control he sworn against to get ahead
      It’s sad honestly, but like I said, it happens to the best of people, that business of trade and barter why it’s not meant for everyone

What I got in SPECTRE and NTTD was an M who was flawed but good, cocked up and was willing to admit that he did but couldn't say anything because he was following the interests of the UK. WHo was the best actor to never play Bond? James Brolin had the face, body and the athletic ability but he couldn't do the English voice. Sam Neill is the best at projecting menace but he can't do fight scenes. Daniel Craig damn near tore up his body doing the stunt work for his Bond movies. Here's what I think: if you're going to use a stunt man anyway, just get the best actor, period. I have the same problem with the Batman movies, it's going to be a stunt man in the suit anyway so what difference does it make.

    Worst "James Bond" ever, not to mention, the worst "M" ever. Michael G. Wilson should be congratulated for taking the world's foremost movie franchise and turning it into the 2st century version of "Second City."

    Such a stupid script - although last part of movie is You only live twice book - the Poison garden and shatterhand / why can’t they just do a book properly instead of cherry picking bits
