Glad you said it. Child’s pose is a no. Modified downward dog, yes, hoo bones high. Cow pose but relax to flat back works for me . The piriformis must be respected. Yoga is not a performance; it’s a practice.

I've had a sciatica for almost 3 years now, many doctors didn't really cared or knew what I had. My sciatica was so bad that I couldn't feel anymore 3 of my toes, my whole leg was numb, I could barely walk, I experienced ALOT of pain in my whole left side... I was filled with knots in my leg, lower and upper back area. When I it was bad day, I could feel my sciatica threw my eye when I was blinking.
Chiropractor, physiotherapist, doctors didn't knew what I had. One day an Orthotherapist told me I had a sciatica and guided me threw his exercise but honestly told me that I couldn't just work one specific region. I had to reset all of my left side body by postering better, doing daily streches and doing yoga. He said to me: Yoga is the key for sciatica.
Massaging your knots, drinking alot of water, sleeping well, walk often for short periods of time, do yoga, specific streches, be gentle with your body and smile because life is good even if every steps that you make hurt you.
Your video is the best one i've tried so far.

I woke up with severe lower sciatica pain on my left side yesterday. I haven’t had this in years and I don’t know what prompted it! Anyway, I searched for a sciatica yoga video with Sara Beth (she is my go-to yoga instructor on UA-cam) and I found this video., I did this yoga flow 3 times yesterday and this morning and my sciatica pain is completely gone. Sara Beth’s sciatica yoga video has literally been a miracle cure. Wow!!!! Thank you sincerely Sara Beth, I appreciate all your videos so much. I will continue to do this flow for the time being to keep the sciatica pain at bay.
An amazing practice that has relieved my sciatica dramatically...I visited two chiropractors that were unable to assist me in my journey to pain free living.....my sincere thanks.

I return to this practice every time my low back is giving me trouble. I am always reminded of how tight I am in key places and it always helps.
When I was doing the last pose, my cat crawled onto my stomach and decided to lie there. As I turned over to turn off this video on my lap top, she crawled up on to my back and is now trying to nap. I am nothing more than a human yoga mat for my cat.
Hahahaha lol My dog came also at the end and start to give me kisses. Yoga pets! They love the energy that yoga creates. Blessings
My dog loves to lie down under me when I’m doing downward facing dog lol🤣. It give a whole new meaning to the name of that pose, since I am facing my dog 😂
Have been doing this practice every time I feel tight in my lower back area or any tingling in my left leg, started it back in OCT 2022 when I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and sciatica has been persistent since my slip disc in FEB 2020. lost all hope that I could feel my legs again as I did before but started with yoga when all other options seemed of no use. haven't looked back ever since and grew in all areas of life !
This was LOVELY. I don't have sciatica but I do have periodic low back pain. I loved the leg-off-the-side-of-the-mat stretches. Thank you!
The first yoga I ever did three years ago was this video and I always come back to it when my sciatica starts to flare up!
I practice with you for a year now. And I enjoy it very much. But I have a suggestion, that would help those who are not familiar with all the poses. Please, start with the pose on the side where the camera is filming. It will make things so much easier!

I can't express the magnitude of gratitude for these poses and the whole sequence through them. Some were difficult first time doing and tried my best with each session it got better. Makes my pain better now throughout my day now.

I was in such awful pain from my sciatica, and this practice brought me great relief. I can move and not feel the pains shooting down my leg or feel like my back is going to go out. I feel strong and stable. I love the pacing and instruction...definitely will be subscribing!

I work retail, walking about 3 miles or so on concrete every work day, lifting shelves and merchandise. I'm nearly 60 and strong, sure, but sore as heck every day too.
If I fail to do at least 20 minutes of SarahBeth EVERY day, I know it. Man, this stuff is just the best for keeping my body running nearly pain free and making progress on my flexibility.

Wow i suffer tremendously with sciatica pain and one routine and i had a noticeable amount of relief. I have been doing/attempting to do yoga to help with many aspects but mainly sciatica. Up tge wall routine was even better. You are my new yoga instructor. Thank youx 100000 what u r doing is making a difference.

I work in retail and this particular yoga, of all your excellent work has saved my bacon these past two days. I was in excruciating pain yesterday, got home, did this workout. Voila, pain just about gone, and ibuprofen took care of that. Was pain free today, and just did the workout again.

my shooting leg pain, numbness hasn't been diagnosed yet but am 100 % sure that this is sciatica pain that i am suffering from since years. I tried this practice today and i am loving it. thank you.. I plan to practice this very often.

Please modify this routine if you have active sciatica, because NO forward bending is appropriate. I substituted cobras. You can hurt yourself if you forward bend when you have active, severe sciatic pain. Here's to safe yoga for all! Namaste.
Depending on the cause of your sciatica, you can do forward folding. This is the case when sciatica is caused by tight glutes/periformis muscles. When sciatica results from a spine issue, you should refrain from forward folding.

@@bettyquintana7415 Agreed. A lot of people, even professionals don't know this. I experienced sciatica myself and therefore looked up a lot of information since I got conflicting advice from different professionals (do exercise, take rest, do this or that type of exercise...)

We enjoyed this practice via Zoom as a couple of our team have sciatic/piriformis pain. The poses were great, held for longer, and the up the wall work was good for our less flexible members. You do need quite a large walk space though! Our only gripe was the music which we found distracting-not needed, better without! Thank you for the practice.
Really liked this restorive yin style yoga video. I have a lot of pain right now and this was very welcome. Will come back to it tomorrow or the day after

great, thank you. i was having sciatic pain, this was really good. i can't properly do the wall stuff, as i have a tiny space and no room on the wall. but i got on the floor at the foot of my bed and did legs up the bed instead. it was at least a little taste of the stretches. :)

Nice practice i feel the stretch on my hips, hamstrings and all my legs, i try to do it slowly and with care, at the end i felt really good, i will watch how my back is during the day, thanks for sharing, namaste.
My uncle had Sciatica from last 5 years. He was unable to walk properly and took medicines from various hospitals but got no relief. Then he came to know about Chandigarh Ayurved Centre and took treatment from there. Now he is totally fit.
I am 3 days postpartum and I’ve had sciatica during my pregnancy on and off. Some days I barely noticed it and I would go weeks without feeling a thing. And other days the sudden sharp shooting pain would stop me dead in my tracks. I had my baby only 3 days ago and my sciatica is back with vengeance. If I’m sitting, I can barely get up without almost stumbling from the sudden sharp pain that almost causes my hip to give out. This happened tonight while I was holding my baby 😢 this is not ok or safe! I will be pulling out my yoga mat first thing in the morning with your video playing. Thank you for sharing this, I’m hopeful that it will help my situation ❤️
