I think for a beginner, the best option would be the mini 4k, I started with the mini 2 and learned a lot, setting me on the path to bigger and better. With no sensors, it taught me to take care with my flying. As usual, great video Ian
Very informative video Ian, thanks, there a lot of small drones out there now so this is very helpful, really appreciate the time that goes in to making these. 👍
Hi, ive seen a few of your videos and I find them very informative. Just subscribed! I have had the flip for a couple of weeks now and I love it. Great for filming abandoned ruins in the countryside. Keep up the good work buddy.
Hello Ian, this is a way more balanced comparison of the Flip👍, but we still disagree on a few points: 1. The prop noise is much more pleasant for the ears compared to the Neo, certainly at the same distance in the sky, 2. In wind it does much better than I expected. YT GAVINHR shows it in his video. But everyone has right on his own opinion. I always take a look at your reviews that are mostly on point👍But I am a little bit more positive about the Flip and love the design. It's so easy to get quick in the Air. Another positive point of the Flip no one mentions as far as I know is the fact that the props stop immediately after hand landing (use flat hand!). All my other drones that I have and had in the past did not this so quick. A lot of succes with your channel. Greetings from 🇳🇱
My first drone is Mini 1. I lost it into a waterfall. Sent DJI my fly record and they sent new one free, I didn’t have Care. I still own and use it, it’s my only drone. I learned how to fly with it. My next drone will be Flip. Thanks for the vid
todays new drone flyers have such a great range to choose from...smaller and portable..my 1st was dji fc40, then a phantom 3...parrot,,..big and bulky to carry around..then last year got back into drone flying with my trusty spark..got a mini 2 combo 2nd hand...wasnt long before upgrading to mini 4 pro, neo and now the flip..you do great videos and also stop by to watch...well done
So, I guess I’m a Marmite fan then. After trying the Mini 3 and finding it decent but lacking in features, I ended up getting a Flip and I absolutely love it. The prop noise, in my opinion, is a bit louder than the Mini, but not like the angry bee sound of the Neo. I feel much safer flying in the park with my grandkids due to the prop guards. The phone control is great, and if I want to take amazing shots of the landscape with a controller, the camera is top-notch.
Excellent comparison, First of all I have many DJI drones $2300 on down....Mavic.. Avatas ..ect.....But always feel the most comfortable get the best shots and enjoy the Mini SE the most. Actually my go to drone.....perhaps less stress due to the cost? I think is is mostly due to it being quiet and un obtrusive to people around me. just some thing to consider for new pilots.. When out having fun .....no one wants a screaming drone around...Quiet is paramount while filming around people. Happy flying
I really enjoy my mini 3 Pro. I wish it was still for sale so others can enjoy it. The only thing it is missing compared to newer models is the lateral sensors.
Very useful video Ian. Started with a mini 2 when it came out and still use it (when weather allows up here in Greater Manchester) and got the Neo combo. Pretty much happy with this combo atm. However am aware that the Mini 2 probably has a shorter self life left from DJI (updates) given the newer ranges… all the best and hope 2025 gives you continued success.
I learnt to fly with the Mini 1 and still fly it occasionally, it takes good images in brighter light. Mini 4 Pro has RAW shooting for the best shots especially in poor light. I find the noise from the Neo and Flip very offputting when flying in more public areas.
I just got back into drones and decided to get the standard DJI Mini 3 not pro, The deciding factor was the controller with screen and price, Managed to get the drone and controller with screen (new) for £399 on sale just before christmas from the dji site
Thanks for all the info Ian. My main question as being fairly new to drones, does the Neo have an option to shoot in 25fps or 50fps? This is because all my other cameras are set to PAL 25/50/100fps and I would hate to have to mix it with 30fps. Thanks
Hi Ian, very helpful information, I have the mini 3 but thinking of purchasing the Neo, do I need another operators id for the Neo or will my mini 3 operators id cover the Neo ? Steve
Hi, great video with great information! Im still very confused as of which 2nd drone to get, my first drone was the original Mavic Mini, i am now trying to decide between, Mini 3, Mini 4k & the Mini Flip, im looking for the best video quality for smooth cinematic video out of the 3, if anyone could help that would be great, Thank you
Mini 3 has better camera than Mini 4K. Flip has more functions but similar camera to Mini 3, but the Mini 3 is quieter and has longer flight time. This video tells you all the feature.... Watch it again and you should be good 👍🏻
I still have the standard DJI Mini 3 not pro, great drone for the price and with the extended battery it goes on forever lol.
These type of videos are always so useful. Just the facts without any fluff.

For me, the Neo for its FPV experience and versatility ... I love this drone! 🤩Thanks for this well-made review 👍🏻

Thanks Karen. Yeah, this was a day's editing.... 😐😐😐 But glad you like the vid 👍🏻👍🏻

Thanks for the good words 😀👍🏻

spoilt for choice today. when i started there was just the dji phantom mk1. fab video as always

I remember my Phantom 3 in its case being my entire carry-on allowance on holiday 😅😅

Thank you, great advice 👌🙏👏
Great comparison video!!!
😃🐾🐈⬛🐝👍🍻
Great video Ian.
Thanks for the review! Two things that dont let me go for Flip are wind resistance and vertical shots. Otherwise it would be a no-brainer
Very good comparison video Ian. I think I would say the Neo.
Yeah, I have warmed to it!!! :)
Cool !!!

It's a mix of quiet noise and less expensive if you crash. I am the same 😀👍🏻
I’ll take the Flip! Seems to be the best choice. Thank you 👍
Great overview. Anyone looking for a beginner drone will be well informed. Cheers.
Thanks George! All the best, Ian 👍🏻
@ Best to you as well, buddy.

For me Best is flip

Thanks Ian. The flip gives me camera bag anxiety ahah

Would you recommend as a first drone (flip) - also been looking at Mini 4 pro but more expensive cheers

@@SteveC-074 same operator id for all your drones 👍🏻
Mini 4K or the auld Mini 2 revamped ... Buy second hand for cheap batteries etc

Lo mejor es tener una buena cartera y comprar uno de cada🤑🤑🤑
Damn boring without a waterproof feature and with only 2 GB internal storage.
🤔
