This was one of the most emotional buildup to a sad scene that I've seen in a long time. She was only a primary character for one episode, but who ever wrote it, made you feel like she was a main character.
It was stupid what they did with this character. She's in almost every episode for almost two seasons and gets no character development at all until the episode she dies in. And why couldn't they just beam her back to Discovery (like they did with Ash) after she was ejected into space and then subdue her?
We haven't seen the last of Airiam. "Control" recovers her body, reactivates her and she winds up working for the A.I. Eventually she'll wind up being it's leader or "queen".

I’m glad they did something with her. I got tired of referring to her as “The one that looks like Friza from dragon ball z” all the time
Additionally, I wonder how Nhan was able to put her breathing device back on several seconds after she had passed... 🤔

Something tells me that Lt. Airium is going to come back in a similar way that Doctor Culber returned. Perhaps, she will return fully human.
