Can Am Renegade Transmission Swap XXC to XMR

Happy Wrenching day, Broknex! When the 2011 Can Am Renegade XXC broke the transmission, I decided to make a change. Instead of keeping the same high racing gears in the XXC, I bought a new Gen1 transmission with lower gears similar to the modern XMR. Sure I'll lose some top speed, but I'll gain torque to turn tires a bit bigger. Stay tuned to see how it goes together!

It's a gen 1 renegade transmission, so 2011 and older. I've been told that up until recently, they're still using the same transmission with different gearing. Not sure about 19 and newer.

The thing on the back is a Tiger Tail. A self storing tow rope. Has been very helpful over the years!

Honda makes a really reliable four wheeler. I wish can am was that reliable. But they really do need to put a d c t transmission in these things and get rid of the c v t.

I wish the canam atvs came factory with d c t 5speed Because I love to shift my own gears and I wish they would ditch that rubber band garbage C v t. That's the one thing I love about the honda rubicon. It actually has a real d c t transmission with manual and automatic options You can switch between them as you're driving. But on the cannon renegade you're kind of stuck With a rubber band c v t transmission that sucks.

quick question what seal is at the back of the trans on the output that holds all the fluid inside? I have a lose output leaking fluid.

Same problem for me. More than the oil getting out, the water was getting in! I replaced the seal once, but it did not fix the problem. output shaft was worn and needed to be replaced. Lead to the ultimate demise of the transmission.

They don't give you much room to get to those bolts. Lower gear will turn that into a mudding machine. Nice singing voice, maybe you should do a karaoke channel. hahaha
