The part of the case that blows out is a result from engaging 4x4 while moving or from shifting while moving. It causes that end shaft to bang against that side of the case hard and blow it out.
Nice video really helpful thanks Sire I have a 2016 1000 r XT-P just bought it and probably got a lot of work in front of me already dit all the sway arm bushings and seeing a lot of work and probably going to pull the motor out , But at first I want to do a compression test on the cylinders But there is no information to find even in the manual How much psi should a healthy 1000 r engine push on the compression meter ? And at what point/ low psi should I start buying new piston kít ? Hope you got the answers sire btw I subscribed your channel keep op the good work 👍🏻
Nice video Brian, I hope there is a repair and reinstall video to follow. I'm a mechanic and own a Can Am so I love this type of video. "Ride Hard and Be Safe" MN Bill
Once the gearbox comes in the mail I'll have a full install video and transmission removal/reinstall video 👌 I'm not a mechanic but can follow instructions well 😂 thanks for watching and I appreciate the feedback
Did you go back with the stock XMR gearbox, or go with an XXC style box? I ride with a few friends that have XXCs and I like the gearing they have better and have been contemplating a gearbox swap for my Renegade XMR 1000R. They spin 32" Assassinators without issue, so not sure how necessary the deep gearing is on the XMR.
I went with the Mr rpm xmr gear box only because I have my clutching etc all setup on smash and didn't want to have to change things with the gearing. I do however agree with you that the xxc gearing is mint 👌 my xxc outlander is a much better trail unit because of it. Iv seen a few guys running 32s on xxc gear boxes without a problem with aftermarket clutches. Send it! And thanks for watching 🤙
O yha. Im starting to think this is a factory issue with how many iv seen. But who really knows lol. Time to replace and pull the old one apart to see where it failed
Any additional info or tricks for removing the air box? I’ve been trying to pull mine off the 2021 and feels very “stuck” a little loose but not quite! Great work with the video!
Nice video. Although the book says to remove the engine to pull the gearbox.. There's a way to do it without. I've done it about 4 times now. Hopefully, never again. lol. +sub +like

Can you elaborate on what you’re doing at the 10:35 mark which is immediately after you remove secondary bolt ?
Nice video really helpful thanks

Where can I find those instructions ? So I can print out
What type permatex RTV do you recommend for the the cases Thrushaft covers?
MSA Sticker on the side - where you based?
What manual do you got
A guy on one of the Can Am FB pages had the same thing happen to his gearbox recently. Definitely sucks...

Coming soon buddy. Waiting on a gearbox to show up and I'll have a gearbox to motor separation/install video and motor install. Thanks for watching 🤙

Yeah you can tilt it to the left side and then pull the tranny off with the engine still in the bike I’ve done it too much easier
I have to replace mine also. Would appreciate some tips on how to remove it without taking the engine off
With a 1000 renegade thou? They are bigger gear boxes then a 800/850
