Bring on the Pamirs!!! I have a dream of cycling this road, but I don't think it will ever happen. I look forward to living vicariously through you. Love your videos 😂😂
You do realize that you guys will make absolutely astonishingly beautiful babies. Plz don’t let time tick by too fast or it’ll be an issue. I really enjoy your vids.
Another amazing video from both of you. I am ever grateful for the effort you put into it, and it shows overall in the end. Thank you. I thought cycling through desert in Iran in June was quite a big feat, until you upped it another notch by cycling through the UAE in July! Craziness !!! I wished for more of Uzbekistan since your experience of the UAE was I could have imagined it was going to be, i.e. horrendous. I hope you had more joy and amazingness in your next chapter ;) Oh and thank you for giving administrative details of visa issues, it will be of great use :). Much support and much encouragement from the Pyrenees.
Haha, well at least we now know which place to avoid at all costs 😅 When we booked the flight to Samarkand our idea was to loop the M41 and circle back through Uzbekistan to get to Kyrgyzstan as the borders between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan were all shut. We believe they still are with the exception of the Pamir Highway, where third country foreigners can get a special permit to cross.
Wow! Travelling in the Arabian Peninsula in July must be awful. I wouldn't make it 5 km. Also, I agree with Mathias that the opulence of Dubai was almost obscene. Especially so after having just arrived from Iran. -- I sure hope the next leg of your journey will be more enjoyable. I'm especially looking forward to seeing your experience over the Pamir Highway.
Arev & Mathias
Glad you guys got out of that Middle East oven without getting heat stroke again. Great video work and be careful going forward into that 4600m elevation.
This episode is filled with huge contrasts! But each part very pleasant to watch. And thanks for confirming to never vist the UAE! Just not my cup of tea, Indian tea or classic English melange😂 Stay healthy! ❤
Fortunately it is now possible again to go through Turkmenistan. If Azerbaijan opens its land borders in the future nobody needs to go via the UAE cycling east.
New old town of Dubai, kinda ring like new old town of Frankfurt. lol. Btw last time I want to cross to Uzbekistan from Iran, I got problem also from Turkmenistan and have to resort to fly to Tashkent.

Yes, seems like that indeed. It is kind of mind boggling that they planned all this infrastructure without on thought about cycling. For 6 months of the year the climate should be great for that!
There is no Iran there, And of course, there is no news about hospitality and invitation to the house by people, and of course, the diversity of climates, so enjoy the desert and the desert and the desert😘
Hey, that is kind of you to suggest, but given the massive amount of footage we shoot per episode we don’t see how that would be viable. The majority of the work is for us to decide what to cut away 😬 Even just for the color grading and sound mixing we would still need to upload massive amounts of data, which is kind of impractical for us most of the time. And even if we would manage to to that, it would better too much of an effort for any person to do for free 😅
@@AmazingWorldBikeTour Hi again, sure and you're doing an amazing job with your videos but as you know many youtubers send their videos to editors and you just need to send the videos to the editor and tell him or her what kind of music and color grading you want and they do it But as you wish i just wanted to help😄
Absolutely. We would generally love to focus more on the filming and narrative part and we understand that many UA-camrs are able to outsource large parts if not all of the editing. However, as we are no professionals we feel we shoot way too much footage per episode. Thus the workload to edit all that footage down is immense and the amount of data in raw footage huge. What to you think how much hours of footage go into one of our episodes on average?
@@AmazingWorldBikeTour well, it must be about 3 or 4 hours because your amount of footage are related to the events that happen to you in that day, You can watch your footage and find the story you want to tell and just send those footages to editors and keep the rest of it, You should fix the story and make the voiceovers then the editor can play with it.but There is more to it obviously
Oh, so maybe we aren't as terrible at filming as we thought. It is 4-5 hours. We spend by far the most time on editing that down, figuring out the storyline, writing voice-over and finding appropriate music. So, basically we could outsource fine-cut, animations, color-grading, sound engineering. While that is still a very significant amount of work, we would need to upload a ton of data which is difficult from on the road, spend extra time on coordination and pay a professional while we still loose money on doing the videos anyways. Unfortunately we don't see that we can do that for the time being.
In literally every other country of our journey the managed to put signs on roads where cycling is not allowed. If they would need to fine us a 1000 AED is that because they don’t have the money for the signs?
Mathias….. I don’t know if I am pronouncing your name correctly but I have been watching your videos one after another and really enjoying them but I have something to share and that’s your anger and ongoing fears and negative attitude towards many things….. I don’t see or hear Arev complaining about heat ,cold and it’s uphill or downhill…. I notice you got mad when she corrected you pronouncing something. I gram sure you know that you have a heavy German accent and at times it’s hard to understand so my advise to you is that control your anger and manage your fears and start treating Arev the way she deserves.
Dear Ruben, thank you for following our journey, caring about us and sharing your thoughts. 🙏 We are two different people with different strengths and flaws. Our journey is amazing and fulfilling on many levels, but extremely difficult at the same time. So we truly grow, overcome many of our fears and try to deal with a wide range of our emotions individually and with each other. But no matter what, we have the deepest love and respect for each other. Sincerely, Arev & Mathias
As a cyclist I’m wondering did you not do any research about Dubai or UAE and the cycling rules? There are areas where you can and cannot cycle for your own safety. Generally you cannot cycle on highways the way you did no wonder people are honking you. The weather is also quite unhealthy for cycling or being outdoors during noon. Use public transport instead. You should not cycle inside buildings as well.
We did not go through the UAE because we wanted to. When we entered Iran about 3 months earlier it had been the only possible way for us to get to Central Asia. As pointed out in the video that changed while in Iran, however, getting proper information on the procedure was difficult and we had booked the tickets already. Regarding cycling in Dubai, we did not come across signs that forbade cycling, but we were absolutely stunned by the lack of any noticeable effort to make cycling a viable means of transport. During our whole journey we saw few places that made cycling as difficult as Dubai, which is a bit pathetic considering the wealth and opulence shown everywhere.
It's a pleasure to work on your bikes
Thanks again 😉

The light show at Registan was quite impressive.
The historical buildings of Samarkand are so beautiful and kind of unique in style.

Thank you Maria. We love it too 🥰☺️
Thanks for confirming what I already suspected. I'd rather get a colonoscopy from Mr Bean than set foot in Dubai. 💯
Fair enough! 😂👍

سلام سمرقند یکی از شهرهای قدیم ایران است
If you mean ancient Persia, then yes indeed.
UAE - One of the last countries I'd like to live in! Those cities are inhuman and sterile, horrible! That political system is a nonsense.
That’s what we thought too. Well, we didn’t even notice dig into it, but seems like as it is a kingdom politics should be pretty straightforward, no?
