    I was so bad someone actually bought me a shuffling machine. I was embarrassed so I watched a few videos and put a deck on my work and every time I sat down I practiced shuffling five times. Maybe a month later I can actually shuffle a deck without that damned machine. I'm not awesome but now I can shuffle in the air. Just saw this video of yours and you're a great teacher and I'm going to make work as my next project. The Scotch tape idea is brilliant. I play rummy with my friends three or four times a week and I'm going to surprise them with this when I finally get it right without saying a word. Thanks in advance looking forward to more.

    Wow! I'm pleasantly surprised at how fast I'm picking this up, thanks friend, you just earned yourself a subscriber. 👍🏻
    Advice to those with tiny hands:
    I'm a 26 y/o female with unusually small hands. Literally every female cardists I've seen even have bigger hands than I do but dude is right, strength is an important factor but more importantly (in my opinion) I've also found that the best thing you can do whenever you have pathetically tiny baby hands is to stretch your fingers. Having more flexibility increases the space between the webbing of your fingers & it can expand how far you can reach you fingers independently to grip the cards, this has helped me the most & its make a huge difference than when I first started. You can do this by putting your hands together like you're going to pray (not clasped but mirror them instead) & you want to individually use one finger at a time starting with your pointer finger to push the other pointer finger back hold for 5-10 seconds then then switch & push the opposite pointer finger back the other direction the same way, then repeat moving on to the middle fingers & so on. Next you'll stretch you webbing to increase the space between the fingers it's pretty much self-explanatory but I like using my thumb & pinky to pull the fingers apart on the opposite hand but don't get a ahead of yourself, you don't want to to pull a ligament & injure yourself. Definitely go slow & if you stretch them every day you'll have noticable results after a 2 weeks maybe even sooner.
    Another bonus tip: it helps to train your pinky to move independently. It's really hard & takes some patience since your nerves & ligaments for curling your pinky are so weak that you depend on the ring finger to move in tandem with your pinky & essentially it's never moved before but I can't explain the exercises here it too long but I can put a link below of the video I used if anyone needs it. The video itself is by a pro pen spinner but you don't have to spin pens, you dont need anything, the exercises are relativel simple & even though the dude teaching it is a pen spinner most of the people in the comments are guitar players or otherwise so it can literally be applied to any skills require increased dexterity & individual movement of each finger.
    EDIT
    Here's the link to the video with the exercises I was I talking about: ua-cam.com/video/C7xgRWlgY_w/v-deo.html

    Our of every tutorial out there, I've had the most success with yours. The way you part the cards in step 1 was the easiest method I've tried and the explanation of how to merge the 2 halves (pressure at the top so the bottom could open up and merge) was a gamechanger.

    @dragosven here. You guys really are good at these tuts. It's those little details that always make the difference. I had never even tried this before and was able to get it in about 5 attempts. A funny side note is that due to your last video, the one handed card throw, I've switched hands from what I thought was my main hand (left) to my other one (right). Apparently I'm better as a lefty. Who knew?! I was even able to do the behind the back over the shoulder throw. I'm having to relearn my sleights now as a lefty, but it's worth it! It's kind of fun being able to do them with either hand. Good practice. Keep up the good work! As for the deck giveway, go with some David Blaine ABCs! =D

    • @chandler_henry
      @chandler_henry  7 років тому +1

      This is so cool to hear man!!! and yea, Im right handed but all my magic is done in the left hand, idk why, that's just how I learned it, so i'm glad you discovered that. But as you say, in the end, being able to do these moves with both hands is an incredible feeling!

    I thought calling it an "I am better than you move" is a bit douchey but after 2 days of practicing I have to agree that if you master this to the point of always nailing it then yeah, you are better than everyone. practicing this actually scraped skin off my fingers and idk how common that is but if you make it through the scrapes and blisters you really earned it.

    Mark this historical day where I have finally conquered the one-handed shuffle. Thank you so much. Still took me a semester to learn this though...... BTW, any thoughts on making a carnahan fan tutorial? I suppose it's really similar to your reverse fan, but I cant seem to get both

      AYEEEEE congrats man!!!!!!!!!!! i told you it would be worth it! and maybe I'll make one once I can do one haha but I can't

      Are you saying a I-can-only-do-it-sloppily "can't" or a legitimate "can't" cuz it's hard to believe what you just said. You guys' fanning skills are on point. Oh, and Thanks. Next target: Pressure & reverse fans.

    Awesome! Could you make a tutorial for a card spring? I know there are millions of tutorials out there in UA-cam, but the only good one is from The Virts. And I'd like to have a tutorial from you so that I could probably improve my spring to be better 😀

      that's a good idea, we've thought about it but there are already so many, we'll probably make one anyway soon though

    Just started handling cards about a week or two ago and I am certainly going to work on this. I can get to the ferro but can’t get it on my bicycles yet.
    In my virts deck I can do it though (those thin cards make me feel like I know what I’m doing haha)
