    This was so nice, especially explaining the index finger's role in enabling wiggling the halves back and forth to interleave them!
    Also, now I finally know what's wrong with my hands - they're big, but not as big as they've seemed compared to these video recordings. I've been using my bridge deck (i started this after being bored during slow bridge games) and the pack is so slim (i.e., not broad) that it behaves quite differently :(

    Thanks for the tutorial, it took me about 5 days to be able to do it and it'll probably take me another week or two to master it. For everyone who thinks their hands are too small as long as you don't have tiny tiny women's hands then you can probably do it. My hands are small and I couldn't even fit a packet of cards between my index and middle finger until a few days after starting to learn this so just keep trying.

    Thanks for this video. I originally was trying 52kards method (he keeps his middle finger on the side of the pack instead of the top), and realized I kept wanting to naturally bring my finger to the top. Then I saw your method, and realized that it was better suited for what my hand felt comfortable doing. Though I do still bridge it with just the bottoms weaved together, I'll probably practice your method for that too, since it seems less likely to end in a card spill.

    I adapted this into a mash shuffle, using a deck of sleeved gaming cards (easier to just push them together) and im trying to make a routine in which i take the whole deck in my left hand, split in in half using the start of a Charlier cut, drop one half into my right hand and flip it, then i do this in both hands at the same time (without the bridge) and then mash those two packs together, could you make a video trying to do this? i would always do a charlier in each hand then mash them together, but i wanna learn this in both hands aha

  • @VintageArmy
    @VintageArmy 10 років тому

    The first way you said "Charlier" is correct. The R makes no sound, just creates the unique sound from the E.

  • @Jakee9935
    @Jakee9935 9 років тому

    i could never do the first part, so for people having trouble or don't like the first part what i do is i start it as if i am doing a bridge shuffle but i turn the cards long ways grab the inner part of the cards and shuffle, then i put my left hand (I'm a righty) under the two halfs of the deck, i put my right thumb in the middle of the decks so it creates a bend in the cards, i then turn my left hand so my palm is facing the table or whatever and release the pressure.

    anyone who is having trouble popping the bottom packet up here is a tip that has helped me. begin with the same steps that 52 kards has in his hot shot tutorial. this is an easier way to get you in the right grip to perform the shuffle.

    with very little experience i learned this in one day. i think it was easier for me to learn because even though i have small hands i can play guitar, classical style as well, so i'm use to stretching out my hand and fingers out really far. So if you play guitar, this will be much easier to learn. the only other card tricks i know how to do is the bridge and the one handed cut (the cut took me a week to learn)

    • @0iGer0
      @0iGer0 9 років тому

      joe clark I thought playing guitar would help me a lot for cardistry. I play experimental so I do use all guitar techniques known to humans, and believe me, it may be easier for that shuffle, for medium and advanced cardistry moves, guitar doesnt really help ;), but practice does !

    Thanks for the tip. This shuffle has been pissing me off, not so much separating the cards into two packets but weaving the cards together. I've only been manipulating cards for about 5 months now so I assume I just need more practice. Take care and thanks again.

    Hi :) i started practicing yesterday and i found somthing that i think will help people at the part of the shooting to the second position.
    So the tip is after you do the small split in the deck and you now holding the second half of the deck with your index finger, aim your index finger to your direction so it will look like your doing half circle shape with your index finger and your index finger nail should be touching the bottom of the first half of the deck and than shoot your index finger and finish the split.
    I found this tip really helpfull because the bottom of the first deck sliding better on the nail and it immune that when you shoot your finger you will move some of the cards in the bottom of the first deck, and also it make the shooting part easier :)
    I hope this tip will help you guys .
    And Disturb Reality , if you think my tip is good , add it to the tutorial :P

    Tips: flatten the deck and push it near your finger tips, then separate the packets, being sure to drag only your fingernail along the bottom, and then be sure to square up the packets alongside each other, your doing a faro shuffle in one hand, so similarly, you'll need squared packets. This move is pretty difficult, but these tips should help.

    Got REALLY small hands ..and its nearly impossible to hold a pack of cards between my middle finger and my pinky.
    just not space enough between there. but STILL not impossible,
    you just need to learn to combine the movement of loosing grip with ur pinky, moving up your ringfinger on the side of the deck and moving your middle finger to the top of the pack ( time for this is 3:16)
    pretty hard but possible :D
    everything else is not that hard with a bit of training

My index finger keeps dragging the back card of the base deck up along with the flying deck, which gets in the way when I try to put the flying deck on top of the base deck. I can't help but feel like there's something I'm doing differently to cause this. Any insight? To help understand, I labeled the half of the deck that you break off the "flying deck" and the half that remains in your middle - pinky fingers the "base deck"
